  1. Thank you Mac Son of Knife for the info. I am using an old vmware image and its had some problems with guest fit working sometimes. I am going for a clean install to 10.6.0 in Workstation 7.1.2, snapshot, then update to 10.6.5, and then install Vmware Tools from the darwin.iso from Fusion 3.1.1.
  2. Question: Using only the unlocker does Guest Fit work after installing VMware Tools from Fusion or does it also require the vga driver and patch from Zenith?
  3. Guest Fit is not working as well as it did before for me. I used to be able to do Guest Fit at any time, now it only works once during boot since updating to 10.6.4 and using a newer VMware Tools package. Also the animation when opening a Stack grid was smoother. I am using VMware Workstation 7.1.0 build-261024 and Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I installed in this order: VMware Tools.app (extracted from darwin.iso from VMware Fusion 3.1) VMsvga2_v1.2.2_Common_Installer.pkg guestd_patches.pkg Any idea why this sorta works and any steps I can do to improve how it works?
  4. So the advantage to using the vsml package over the vmware tools in darwin-snowy is one can boot with PC EFI and not need to use darwin.iso to boot every time? Or is there more to it? Thanks for clarifying the driver info, I got audio working after installing EnsoniqAudioPCI_1.0.2.mpkg and choosing only the first check box. [edit] I installed the files in vmsl but now the mouse and keyboard don't work right... FYI these are the commands I used in Terminal Using VMware Workstation 7.0.0 build-197124
  5. Are the guestd_patches.tar.gz integrated into the current vmsl.tar.gz? Is it possible to boot without darwin.iso? I installed pcefi.10.3, including boot1h to the EFI partition but I get "Operating System not found". Installed on a SCSI disk, GUID style, HFS+, guestOS = "darwin10-64". According to "TheGreatDeceiver" in Post #12 he got sound from Zenith's kexts, I think he refers to vmsl but there is no audio driver in that package and I don't have audio. Also I would note that the .i386 or .x86_64 extension should be removed after copying the replacement mach_kernel, otherwise you need to use F8 and specify the file name.
  6. sure I guess that's ok to do http://www.mediafire.com/?mhz2czx5jtz
  7. Any drivers for GMA950 on Snow leopard?

So you have Chameleon installed on the EFI partition and the com.apple.Boot.plist with the string in is the Extra folder there? that's the only place you have to put the string? Can you post the complete contents of your plist file? I heard the DSDT patch does not work on the mobile chipsets?
  8. Thanks for the tip I was just able to get past the kernel panic on my HP Mini 1000 with this. I replaced the one in S/L/E and deleted the Extensions.mkext just putting it in /E/E did not work.
  9. GeForce 200 series support

I have it sorta working using the enabler and drivers, I got past the blank screen and have 1024x768. EFI strings have not helped so far in getting proper resolution of 1920x1080. I tried both of these guides http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1177685 http://www.darwinx86.org/guides/installer-...-les-gtx-260280 It's the same if I boot with -x32 or use "Graphics Mode"="1920x1080x32". [edit] A person in this topic claims to have got it all working http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/snow-leopard-gtx-260-t3827/ According to some comments on netkas blog you can install the driver package from nvidia directly http://www.nvidia.com/object/GeForce_MacOSX_18.5.2f16.html
  10. GeForce 200 series support

I've been trying to get Snow Leopard to work 100% with my GTX260 and 1080p monitor. The monitor is connected via DVI-to-HDMI. Motherboard is Foxconn G45M-S. I installed the updated injector from here http://netkas.org/?p=107 And the evga drivers from here http://netkas.org/?p=109 I now get past the apple boot logo and get 1024x768 but I would like to get 1920x1080 on my HDTV. I followed Kasakka's posts starting here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...00#entry1177685 I created a plist fixed PciRoot also tried the plist he supplied but still stuck with 1024x768. :/ Any ideas?
  11. Wow Autofit Guest is working perfectly and the animations seem smoother! Thank you Zenith432!
  12. I am confused about how to install or what this audio driver requires. Is the single kext file good for both 32bit and 64bit? [edit] seems yes. Does it need to be copied to System/Library/Extensions? [edit] seems yes. Does it require DSDT? [edit] seems yes. Does it it require some Chameleon option? [edit] seems no. Do you need to remove AppleHDA from S/L/E? [edit] seems no. I used DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e and copied DSDT to the root of my SL volume, and copied VoodooHDA.kext to S/L/E but I get no audio with ALC888. The PrefPane gives me registry errors when I open it too. I read in another topic that with "DSDT patch make your HDA sound working with vanilla AppleHDA.kext" but I've also read that DSDT is no longer needed. [edit] i forget exactly what i did but it is working now
  13. shuttle xpc install

Well I got SL working on my SG33G5 I used a clean hard drive and attached it via a USB adapter to a working Leopard machine. Used DiskUtility to setup a MBR disk with HFS+ and FAT partitions. Then ran modified OSInstall.mpkg to do a custom install of SL on HFS+ partition followed by Chameleon RC2 without extra kexts. IIRC... I boot straight to OSX from Chameleon with no options, meaning 64-bit, everything works except LAN, Audio, GPU. Used EFI Studio and selected 8800GT and added strings to plist, monitor and gpu then worked on reboot. I used DSDT Patcher 1.0.1e to create proper file and cp'd it to the root of the volume, LAN then worked on reboot. I used kexthelper to install VoodooHDA, which got audio working. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=175372 Ran Software Updater which downloaded drivers for my HP printer
  14. haha good news, I screwed up by copying the boot file to the Boot volume instead of the EFI volume, corrected that and now currently staring at GUI setup. I just gave myself a reason to stay up. I'll see how far I can get
  15. noob766 thank you for the quick response and help so far I removed nvenabler from both EFI and Install volumes, same kernel panic, then I removed nvinject and still had the problem. I review the text on the screen and if it helps I notice "type 14=page fault". Also I checked to make sure there was no \extra\extensions.mkext in both EFI and Install volumes. I also booted using "-x32 -f -s -x -v" same panic message.
