skurk
Your PC HDD has some non-standard, non-NTFS and non-FAT32 partition which may be hidden so you cannot see it. If you are using Dell, it canbe their Media Direct partition which can be erased with Hitachi Ftool. If it is something else, there is still unknown partition which Darwin cannot identify. It could also be a damaged partition table in which case removing ALL partitions and starting all over creating new ones _might_ work. Try the first tip first though ;p Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11339-howto-xp-osx-1044-1048-native-dual-boot/page/53/#findComment-222795 Share on other sites

Riaz
Hi all, I recently got my native dual boot successfully installed. 1. Mac OS X 10.4.6 JaS (just upgraded to 10.4.8 JaS for Intel SSE2 this morning) 2. Spec -> Intel Pentium 4 (2.0 GHz) support SSE2 max -> 768 MB SDRAM (PC133) -> Linksys LNE100TX ethernet adapter -> Nvidia TNT (VANTA) with 64mb VRAM [(old card ) but still it handles the display very well ] -> Sony DVD burner. Anything else I forgot to mention? The installation was pretty and easy and this thread guide really helped me for step-by-step installation. Thanks to all those who spend their hours working to release such a wonder. Its a Dream come true release Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11339-howto-xp-osx-1044-1048-native-dual-boot/page/53/#findComment-223180 Share on other sites
ChelNam Guerrilla
Mac OS X 10.4.6 JaS I selected SSE2 (which is weird b/c it's SSE3 and SSE2)and updated to 10.4.7. I'm a little hesitant about updating it to 10.4.8 b/c I had to reinstall last time I tried . ricky333
Hey... didnt have time to read 66 pages, so if this has already been asked, sorry. I've installed about 4times. Fixed the sse3 and 2 patch thing, then the b0 error. FINALLY, it gives me all the nice scrooly text on the first screenshot, then gores... blank. and reboots after 5 seconds. Im on a dell 3.4 ghtz with a gig of ram, 160 gig hd, 256 radeon gfx card, and it supports sse3, but i used 2 cause it wasnt working. PLEASE HELP, its my only partiton, so itll be my main os. Wybl
Hey, by now i have tried installing OSX about 5 times and only two times i actually got it to boot completely through. Mouse, keyboard, bluetooth worked but when i tried getting the x1600 to work it booted to a black screen with no response at all. After that i installed it again but OSX wasnt in the boot list of boot loader and i cant boot it anymore. So it actually worked a few times but it is kinda worthless now. Thanks for the guide though, it was quite fun to see osx in action on my computer. elduran
Problem solved, had to update Bios from A26 to A32, last release, then change UMA value to 8 Mb, reboot, and osx running fine, update to 10.4.7 jas version and works fine shows my cpu is 2.8 Ghz Celeron (it is 2.4Ghz Celeron), then update to 10.4.8 Jas version, everything working fine, audio, network, and everything, actually posting from laptop inspiron 1100, osx86, firefox browser, and downloading torrents via azureus, the only thing is my cpu is not showing up in system profiler, but it works. Inspiron 1100 256 ram, graphics runs faster than my old G4 733 Ghz 640 ram, thanks for the tutorial Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11339-howto-xp-osx-1044-1048-native-dual-boot/page/53/#findComment-225490 Share on other sites

DiRaC
Hi I managed to install mac osx on my laptop. However, I got a serious problem now that I need help. I used the Acronis.Disk.Director.Suite to format the disk that mac osx was on after I decided I didn't need OSX anymore. I also changed the primary type to logic type of the disk. After I reboot, the Disk Director is not able to run because it says it can't find some boot file. Now basically I can't start my computer because I can't start Windows XP now. How do I delete the Disk Director from the booting file so that I can get Win XP running after the computer starts? Thank you a million! Ver 10 works great. or did you just install OS Selector? i would recomend if you did that to unistall it and install ver 10 of disk director suite. _-FadeD-_ HiI managed to install mac osx on my laptop. ACC0RD22
1) are you on a laptop? if yes, 2) does it go a light shade of blue with no mouse or anything? if yes, 3) look in the first post in this thread towards the bottom, there should be something that adresses this. you need an external monitor connected to the VGA port. (the trapezoidal blue one, I think its VGA). you can either do that, or use 2 wires to connect the two things that need to be connected to fix it. good luck. Rammjet
As it says in the troubleshooting section of the first post, to fix the blue screen on a laptop, you must attach something to the VGA port - a monitor, a VGA dongle, the 2-wire trick or the 1-wire trick Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11339-howto-xp-osx-1044-1048-native-dual-boot/page/53/#findComment-229855 Share on other sites
