I have an ATI Radeon 2400 HD PCIe which works great in Leopard (retail)..right up to 10.5.8..thanks to Netkas and co for these awesome installers.

Snow leopard Retail is another story however. The card is recognized alright (even shows the correct card id and vram in "About this Mac") but I can only change resolutions by stating so in Chameleon RC4 then rebooting. Sucks.

Darn shame too because installation went slick. Sound and networking work great and even got it booting in 64bit. The only two things not working 100% is the video card and for some reason my DVD drive stopped being recognized (gotta investigate that one).

Hoping that an installer for my card is created. I would do it if I have the brains...but...heh...not gonna happen.

Great works guys! You are the ones who make this hobby tick along. Alot of us would be still scratching our heads. Appreciate your hard work and sharing.

anyone know if the Radeon HD 3870 PC/MAC edition works with the 3800 series pkg?

http://www.macworld.com/article/133935/2008/06/radeon.html

supposedly the ROM is slightly different than the other 3870 cards. It has native support in Mac but in hackintosh I'm not sure if I would have native support also or have to go thru the usual steps to get it working.

I'm running iPC 10.5.6 Voodoo kernel

(friend has one, I'm considering buying it from him)

Hello, i stumbled on this post and was wondering if any one has had any luck with the ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics, it came on board with my Gateway dx4200-09 and i upgraded it to a nvidia geforce 9400gt because of the price and it had s-video so i could plug my tv in, the ATI has HDMI, but i don't use it so i don't matter. Thanks

Ohai

I need feedback on this installer for 2400,3850,3650 and 3870x2 users

Download

10.5.8 - no success :-(

Have an 256MB HD2400Pro, listed in systemprofiler with device ID 94c3.

if i install this package, the machine is booting up and ends in a blue screen with movable cursor. *see note

Note: if i push the power Button for sleep - A SECOND the desktop appears before machine goes sleepin. crazy? normal?

btw: my VGA monitor is connected by a dvi=> VGA adapter bought from apple ... this made no difference or maybe...?

i also try these method: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...71150&st=20 also with no success at the moment ...

//edit + note

tons of trys and restarts later - i try installing both, the package submit on the first post and the package on page2 submitted. Now it boots without bluescreen - but also without any resolution/qe/ci support. looks like this:

Well guys looks like we have boatload of new framebuffers in 10.6.3 untested and still in the need of testing

does this mean your done with 10.5 Leopard support? :( not a big fan of the snow

Your 3650 pkg has treated my 2 machines quite well recently, I thank you for that. perhaps we need to setup a lastexile donation site to reimburse you for your 10.5 development ;)
