ATI Radeon HD pkg installers 10.5.x & 10.6

I'm running with ATI HD 3650 (DVI+HDMI output) on iPC Universal.

I've installed the drivers from the package: ATI x2000 version 53410 plus natit for HD3650

They work like a charm: full resolution, CI and QE.

But I can't seem to get dual monitors to work. If I connect either the DVI or the HDMI output by itself, it works. If I connect both, there is only output on the monitor which was connected first.

Has anybody got this to work?

Cheers,

Rahul

hi ppl

anyone has hd 4890 working with 10.6.2?

pls help, i'm stuck with 1024x768

ha success followed this guys post from 7 to 10, full QE all res. working like charm

Huge success,

Sapphire 4890 works dual display.

With QE/CI and no performance degradation.

I made many changes, so I'll try to track down everything and be scientific.

Situation before 4890:

OS X 10.6.2 Upgraded from 10.6.0 Vanilla with P35-DS4 pack and Chameleon.

Nvidia 9800GT working dual display using EFI string in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

Before replacing card:

Installed netkas qe_ci_exotic_10.6.2

removed EFI string from com.apple.Boot.plist

I'm posting my kext list and some more info images.

Update

Found a procedure to install 10.6.2 with Radeon HD4890 working in dual monitor:

Files needed for Install here: http://www.mediafire.com/?ngdvwzzyzdj

1. While in Snow Leopard open Disk Utility and create a new partition in GUID mode on a secondary disk.

2. Mount a Mac Snow Leopard 10.6 Retail install DVD and run OSInstall.mpkg from [CDROOT]/System/Installation/Packages

3. Install a new install without printer drivers in customize on the new partition.

4. Download and install OSX Updates 10.6.1 and 10.6.2

5. Install Chameleon 2 RC3

6. In my case I install the GA-P35-DS4 Snow Pack.pkg

7. Install Netkas QE_CI_Exotic patch 10.6.2.pkg

8. Replace SleepEnabler.kext in /Extra/Extentions with new one in SleepEnabler.kext_10.6.2.zip

9. Replace /boot with new one in boot_v10.5.zip

10. Reboot, thats it.

My setup:

Gigabyte P35-DS4

Q9550 at 3.4GHz (8.5*400) Normal Voltage

8GB 800MHz (2*400) Normal Voltage

PCI Fixed speed 100MHz

Sapphire HD4890 1GB

I have AMD and ATI HD3650 and used pkg in the first thread, and it seems to work but I have problem with full screen video being very choppy.

In my system profiler, graphic display shows as HD2600 and it shows CI: software, QE: not supported. Is that why?

In HD3650 related thread, it seems CI/QE is supported but I don't have it. Is there a way to enable this?

Hey guys, if anyone is still interested i got my ATi Radeon HD 3650 AGP working. Like many others, have had numerous errors and problems setting up this card, and after an 8 month search, i'd like to share this method with you all,

I used:

iPC Universal 10.5.6

LastExile's old 3650 AGP Drivers - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GFMX6QF3

Netkas's ATi and Nvidia Card Enabler - http://netkas.org/?p=104

Pacifist - http://www.charlessoft.com/

First i installed iPC onto my PC, I chose all my appropriate drivers but did not select any Graphics drivers.

After I had installed and booted into OSX I installed Netkas's Card Enabler. This gave me all reslolutions for my screen but no QE/CI.

After a reboot I installed Pacifist and opened the old 3650 AGP driver package with it. I extracted all the kexts in the Extensions folder of the package to /System/Library/Extensions/ except the natit.kext, as this kext was what caused my numerous errors. I then extracted everything in the Frameworks folder of the package into /System/Library/Frameworks/.

After a final reboot I had full QE/CI. I've tested Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer, Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 and Halo Trial with it. Call of Duty and Command and Conquer work great at the appropriate specs for my PC, but Halo seemed to lag very badly for some reason, even though I had reduced the resolution and graphical effects to their lowest. This was in windowed mode; in full screen it just stayed black until the screen turned off due to lack of input.

Things to note:

My card is a Sapphire Radeon HD 3650 AGP 512 MB DDR2, this solution worked with this vendor. Depending on your vendor, you might get different results. REMEMBER IT IS AN AGP DESKTOP CARD

The card appears as a 3600 on a PCI slot. I don't know why, I believe it could be the work of Netkas's enabler. Nonetheless QE/CI still works.

This method was tested with the package on the first post of this page as of today and the method failed. The only way so far to get the card working with this method is to download the package from the file above.

System Specifications:

HP Pavilion T660a

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz

Motherboard: ASUS P4-SD LA

Graphics Card: Sapphire HD Radeon 3650 AGP 512MB DDR2

RAM: 2GB

Hard Drive: IDE 300GB

Sound: Realtek AC97 Audio

Network: Realtek Onboard Lan

Proof in screenshot attached, hope this helps someone

It happens on my system too when I install driver taken from XxX 10.5.6

So, is it true that Digital Alliance HD3650 512mb DDR2 just a rebranding card from HD2600 pro..??? :)

ATI Radeon HD 3650 pcie

Device ID: 9598

Download Intel

Download AMD

Not work for me. :(

Always show a blue screen with mouse pointer , then stuck.

Also trid ATY_Init , still not work.

Try use RadeonHD.kext , it's recognized as ATI 3870 , can set resolution , but no QE/CI , and mouse pointer display incorrect.

I have a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3650 PCIE 256MB ID: 0x95981002 , dual DVI , no VGA , but my LCD(LGW1934S) only have VGA , so I have to use a DVI-VGA converter.

My PC Specs

OSX: iDeneb_v1.6_1058_Lite_Edition

CPU: AMD Athlon 64, 1800 MHz (9 x 200) 3000+

Mainbard: Epox EP-MGF6100-M

Chipset: nVIDIA GeForce 6100, AMD Hammer

Video: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3650 PCIE 256MB

Audio: Realtek ALC883 @ nVIDIA nForce 410 (MCP51)

Netcard: NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller

Any idea?

thanks.
