Greetings Last Exile:

Excellent post. Thanks for the info.

A Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 AGP 512 MB Driver Package needed

I got the card to work via XXX_x86_10.5.6_Universal_Final_V.2 on an Asus P5PE-VM, DualCore Intel Pentium D, 3000 MHz, ACPI x64-based PC, Intel Springdale-G i865G, 2x1GB ram ddr 400, Sapphire 512MB AGP 3850. The installer GraphicDrivers option doesn't have an AGP selection for the 3850, it appears the selection if for the PCI-E version. I tried various drivers of related cards from the selections and so far only "ATIRadeoHD48x0" would work. But the card is limited like yours. From the System Profiler I get:

Bus: PCI (Note should be AGP)

VRAM (Total) 256MB

Vendor: Ati (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x9515

Revision ID: 0x0000

Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded

DISPLAY:

(Only available) Resolution: 1024 X 768

Depth: 32-bit color

Core Image: Softeware

Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

I used OSX86Tools to enable Quartz GL though the card doesn't show up as a device in hardware drivers. It appears as it should in "View PCI Device/Vendor ID".

If anyone has a fix for this card on this OS and board please provide the driver or Kext and instructions on how to install it. I have Kext Helper b7, but have never used it.

Thank you.

GOS

I just installed an AGP ati HD 2400 pro 512MB and I did a clean install of ideneb 1.5.1.

I am able to raise the resolution to the desired setting but the system sort of lagsand QE is not enabled.

also system profiler reads the card as a Radeon HD 2400XT

I remember on my computer when I installed the nvidia 6600 none of the injectors ever worked so I used an efi string in the universal installer. but the Universal installer doesn't offer one for the 512MB version of the Radeon HD 2400 pro and when I use the 256 version I boot to a blue screen.

Does anyone know how I can get quartz extreme to work? Ive read somewhere about changing the frame-buffers to I think megalogin or something like that.

I'm currently using an ATI HD 2400 PCIe card, and installed the lastest software. I'm able to get my native resolution now, and enable Quartz GL, but QE is still showing disabled:ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT:

Chipset Model:	ATI Radeon HD 2400

 Bus:	PCIe
 PCIe Lane Width:	x16

 Core Image:	Software
 Main Display:	Yes
 Mirror:	Off
 Online:	Yes
Quartz Extreme:	Not Supported
 QuartzGL:	Supported
Display Connector:

my device ID is in the ATIRadeon2000.kext, and I've attempted to change it from using "Iago" to "Megalodon", without success. I've attempted these instructions but they don't seem to work either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm running LawlessPPC distro (clean install) (AMD X64). I've got an ATI 2900XT card. I've installed the above drivers for 2900XT. On normal boot up I get disco screen. In safe mode I get "aty_franklin.kext was installed improperly and cannot be used".. I've been trying to get this to work for weeks... I've had enough.. Any ideas before I throw in the towel please?

Its greatly appreciated.. :-)

disclaimer: there are 100 pages on this thread so i havent read every single reply.

i'm assuming it's better to do a fresh install with no graphics drivers selected and then to install this package?

i'm at work now and i will try this soon as i get home.

i recently bought an ATI Radeon 2600 HD AGP card to try OSX Leopard (since I had no luck getting my ATI Radeon 9600XT to work other than in basic AGP) and so far I got it to work using just the Natit driver. I get Quartz GL Supported, CI Software, but no Quartz Extreme. hoping this package will do the trick. fingers crossed.

I have just done a clean install with iDeneb Lite v8 10.5.8 and used drivers from this thread for ATI Radeon HD 3650 Pci_E

I have 2 problems:

- Resolution is stick at 1024x768

- Fan seems to be spinning on full constantly... i'm guessing this is dangerous for the card

Any suggestions here? plz note i have been in IRC and read this whole thread, any suggestions appreciated, thanks ;)

I am desperate ... I tried every possible solution on this forum to get my HD2400PRo to work and this thread is the one where I get the best results (at least I got a good resolution of 1920x1200) but still no QE/CI ...

What is really strange is that my card is a HD2400PRo and not XT but after having used the installer provided here the System info are showing :

ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT:

Chipset model : ATI Radeon HD 2400

Type : Display

Bus : PCIe

PCIe Lane Width : x16

VRAM (Total) : 256 MB

Vendor : ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x94c3 (correct for a HD2400PRo no ???)

Revision ID: 0x0000

ROM Revision: 113-B1480A-236

EFI Driver Version: 01.00.236

Displays:

DELL 2405FPW:

Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz

Depth : 32-Bit Color

Core Image : Software

Main Display: Yes

Mirror : Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

Display Connector:

Status : No Display Connected

If any of you has an idea ... Thanks !!! :)
