SharkyNL
Sorry for my slow response been outta town. here's some screensFirst! Then! remember i have had both working! Edit: Fixed the bar problems, fixed by changing the frame buffer, but now when i connect just my 22 inch w/ DVI the screen just blinks on and off every few seconds. it does that at native resolution. Hello MSOSX, I have exactly the same problem ("that my screen blinks on and off every few seconds") with my videocard (HD 2400 Pro) if i connect w/ DVI with mine 20 inch screen. I now use a DVItoVGA converter, but I hope someone can solve this problem because I really want DVI support. enzo1
HiI have HD 2600 PRO (device id 9589) is there a reason to use this packages? currently i use natit (i think it's the latest one) and edited plist in RADEONX2000.KEXT to add my device ID all seem to work fine (resolution/qe/ci) how do I know if it's using lamna or megadolon? Hi WinstonAce, I have tried to install the new ATI HD2600Pro Pcie in my new OS X 10.5.6, but each time I reboot, I have a black screen. The only solution I managed to have working is to install the old Natit drivers that worked with my old 10.5.5 OS. However, qe/ci is not available. I saw in your post that you have it working after editing RAGEAONX2000.KEXT, adding the device ID. As I am a complete NOB, could you walk me through the editing process? Thanks in advance. Boombeng
I checked the new drivers to see if there was anything in there referencing our cards. The 10.5.6 drivers contained (via inspecting hex) the same ammount of 3450 references as other "working" cards, so that particular card looks promising, but the drivers contained almost no reference to the 3650 (sadface). What ammount of 3450 references ? And what reference to the 3650 ? You mean 95C4 and 9591 in hex ? Meowolf
I've been trying to get ideneb working on my computer for over 4 days now (been trying to get it working since 2 years ago, gave up, tried again, gave up, tried again) I finally got mac to boot using the hdd, but now I can't get QE, I've tried the installer you've posted, but it doesn't work properly. After I restart, I get a screen filled with random colors. I don't know what the reason could be, so I'm posting my specs. Specs Asrock DualVsta 775 Intel Celeron 3.20GHz 1GB Kingston DDR Memory (FSB=333MHz) Western Digital 40GB IDE HDD (Secondary - 160GB Seagate Barracuda SATA HDD) Sapphire ATI Radeon HD3650 (Dev ID. - 0x9598) iDeneb 1.5.5 P.s. I use a DVI to VGA adapter The graphics card has been oced to counteract the effects of powerplay, nt sure if it affects the kexts. I kinda deleted the original file I'd backed up accidentally, so I have no way of reverting to the original bios. Any help would be appreciated .... completemacnewbie
I have been working on getting my PowerColor HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 to work for almost a week now. I've tried more different combinations of kext's and framebuffer graphics strings (Lamna, Triakis, Megalodon) in my boot.plist than I can count. I'm just about ready to give up. I did have everythign working ALMOST perfect with an Asus EAH2400Pro (10.5.6, full resolution, QE/CI, sleep etc.). The only thing I was missing was dual displays. My 2400 bit the dust last week so I decided to give the 3850 a try since I had seen some people say they got it working with dual display, and there seemed to be a lot of support and driver packages out there. So far I haven't found any that work. The best I've don is get to the blue screen with no cursor. I've moved the mouse around each time to make sure it wasn't the secondary display, but no luck. I've had varying success depending on which driver / framebuffer combo i used. Everything from garbled screens to just stopping at the end of the verbose mode and not going into the GUI at all. Any suggestions would be great. I hope someone will investigate on mobility cards.... Revengangel, Thanx a lot for your info. Could it be i am the most damned in this section. being perhaps the only one that can't get it to work ?! Thank you for the suggested package, too. Before i start - could you please provide just a basic info for what steps you took? And i suppose, you ain't on a CRT-monitor with a D-Sub converter... Greetings UPDATE Wooooooooorks !!! Revengangel, i can't describe you how grateful i am to you ! I was so pessimistic this would work out for me, that i even did not do anything "the right" way - just removed all ATI* and Natit.kext quickly, ran the installer you provided and directly rebooted ! The system was even not touched at all, cause i use it as a test platform (base install of a new 10.5.6 version, and with 9.4.0 StageXNU - which is a kernel i try out for a first time), so i highly doubted it would have sense, having no 10.5.5 base installed at the moment. But after having restarted? Quick look in Profiler - WTF ?! It works ?! Impossible I am so happy now, THANK YOU 1000 times for your help, i have been struggling with this issue for almost 10 days ! I wish you good health and all the best ! You are THE MAN ! *Going to do a new stable and clean install* Well, im so glad that it works for u too The friver made by Lastexile, but anyway im happy bcoz with my solution works with that driver. For those who not succed, all i can tell i had a leo4all10.5.2 base install, with working video card. I made a 10.5.5 combo update from apple as it was described here at insanelymac in some other topic, i repeated my procedure, and my card works again. Yesterday i upgraded to 10.5.6, repeated the same procedure, and here is the result: ATI Radeon HD 3600: Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 3600 Type: Display Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x9596 Revision ID: 0x0000 ROM Revision: 113-B1480A-236 EFI Driver Version: 01.00.236 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1920 x 1080 @ 75 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Hardware Accelerated Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Rotation: Supported Display Connector: Status: No display connected I dont care about agpgart , bcoz, noone of the previous versions worked for me. Im happy with my hackintosh PS for Lastexile: your latest 3650 AGP drivers doesnt want to work, but the previos one works perfectly even with 10.5.6. completemacnewbie
I hear you about just buying a Mac, I've thought that a few times throughout the past year. My wife keeps saying the same when I spend hours getting no where. When you mentioned 10.5.6 specifically, I thought I'd mention that I tried iDeneb 1.3 (10.5.5) and didn't have much luck there either. Mostly the same, I got to a point where I had a blue screen with no cursor and that's about it. I actually tried installing both iDeneb and iPC without the Radeon 3800 drivers and then did custom clean installs after the OS was installed. As you know, still no luck. I'm going to mess with it this weekend, and possibly even go back to good old Kalyway 10.5.2 and give that a try. I had good luck with that as a base when I was trying to get the HD2400Pro working. I'll report back if I have any luck. Cheers! Methanoid
You may try my modded NATIT.kext.I moddded it a bit, got also KP or blue screen with Natits try&error installs. (mostly .pgk have also some natit.kext installed too). Be sure that you have an Megadlon.plugin in the ATIRNDRV.kext (in Plugin folder od that .kext). This natit uses Megadlon Framebuffer. Some OSX86 DVDs didnt have all Framebuffers included (use older ATI drivers without Megadlon plugin). Remove other natit.kext. Install this Natit.kext with KEXTHELPER or OSXTools (because of rights setting). I would also remove extensions.mkext before reboot Mitch-de, this worked fine for me...for which I am VERY grateful..(as no other drivers/kexts work with my 3850 Radeon). I'm wondering what files are needed to go with it (if I need to re-install or feel brave enough to try a Boot-132 install)....???? Anybody made it work on ATI HD 2600 Pro PCI card? I've choose PCI since my setup is the Intel Atom ITX Board which PCI graphics card is only the option. ...snip... I have serious doubts about the ability to support this card. At one point Apple specifically excluded support for PCI gfx cards for Quartz extreme as the load on the PCI bus was too high. At that time there were some patches available like PCI Extreme or something similar, but I don't hold out much hope for this card.
