Hey, lebasti80, thanx a lot for your help.

Unfortunately...it' doesn't work, again...

I removed all the ATI*.kext, installed the provided package,

removed Extensions.mkext, kextcache-k'ed the thing,

repaired the permissions through the terminal.

Nothing, god damn, nothing.

This time there is neither a black, nor a blue screen.

Whatever to use to boot with - -f-v, -x -v,

it gets stuck at this section:

NTFS Driver...

NTFS Volume...

/sbin/ocspd[81] starting....

can't get time from time.euro.apple.com

And that's it, it doesn't get any further than this.

It won't load the desktop even in safe mode.

Swapping the position of the DVI-to-D-Sub adapter

from one DVI-port to another has also no effect at all

The system installed is XxX's 10.5.6 (THANK you man, awesome release !)

I might switch back to a lower version, and try again.Dunno what else to do...

Thanx a lot, nevertheless.

It seems we the AGP-possessers of this cursed card won't have luck

that soon.

Greetings

Without Video Card Ref. no one will help you... :thumbsup_anim: I think before asking dumb questions like that you should learn to use the forum search engine, and you should take time to read threads...

good luck

Sorryy!!! oops sorry sorry sorry.

I've forgotten to describe my graphic cards, i've been very nervous and I forgot to describe my card.

I've ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 .

I repeat, Sorry for the mistake.

Thank you for your help.

EDIT: I've used the search engine the forum, but i can't find the solution, because when I reboot the screen say "You may need to restart....." Sorry.

Hi everyone. I'm running 3650 AGP on an old IBM thinkcentre 8189 tower and have been trying to get a combination to work with this system. ATM, I have the OS up an running, but no Kext is loaded for the ATI. I do have AGPgart install from the Iatkos 10.5.5 cd. I just grabbed the Leo4All CD and might give that a try. I tried the 3650 AGP drivers and get only the black screen and a freeze.

So, here are the questions.

Should I do a complete clean install with no AGPGart and no drivers, then run the 3650 AGP driver? Should I run the 3650 driver in safe mode? Is there a package, and how-to to manually play with this, instead of the installer? Need a tester?

I would really like to get this card to kick. Thanks in advance and see you on the #radeonHD channel.

:)

Then!

01-16-09_2103.jpg

:censored2:

remember i have had both working!

Edit:

Fixed the bar problems, fixed by changing the frame buffer, but now when i connect just my 22 inch w/ DVI the screen just blinks on and off every few seconds. it does that at native resolution. :(

Well, folks, after days of try-outs, i can provide following feedback :

Users of ATI HD3650 AGP 512 MB/DDR 2 (Dev.ID 9596) - I can confirm,

that there is NO 100 % WORKING solution for this series yet.

The only versions, which can at least give you the possibility

to change your resolution/refresh rates are JaS's 10.5.4 and XxX's 10.5.6

NO hardware CI and QE !

This is possible through each installer's bundled HD3650 package,

which you can safely use with an also bundled AGPGart driver in parallel.

So, either JaS's or XxX's version provide you with some good start

till there is a final working solution.

You can try them out, so you can stay at first with 50 % working

graphics, that is to say - better than nothing

Hope this helps.

P.S. Using a Sapphire HD3650 AGP 512 MB/DDR 2 here, with a DVI-to-D-Sub adapter and a CRT-monitor...

looking at the quote above. What version OS were you running and what is the chipset of the mainboard? Did you use the AGPgart or have the OS handle it? If I can get to your point, I can go up from there and see what other changes are need.

I had the same problem installing the latest version (for leopard 10.5.6) from the 2nd of january. I solved it by installing back the previous drivers (for leopard 10.5.5). I have them working without any troubles now. (apart from not being able to put the computer to sleep and wake up properly).

The filename for the driver I have working is "ATI Radeon HD - 10.5.x - 10.5.5 kexts.pkg"

My card is also a ATI Radeon HD 2600 pro PCIe

Ok. This is what I have tried thus far with my 3650 AGP.

Using drivers from the front of this thread.

Using AGPGart 2.7.1

Using IaTKos 10.5.5

Issues I found:

1. Natit.Kext does not have 0x9596 listed as a video card (0x9598 is listed as HD3650)

2. There are version differences between ATINDRV.kext as compared to the other .kexts in the installer.

Combinations thus far.

1: AGPGart.kext + natit.kext + lastexile's driver = frozen black screen

2: AGPGart.kext + natit.kext(changed 0x9598 to 0x9596) + lastexile's driver = frozen blue screen

3. AGPGart.kext + lastExile's driver = messed up pixels (blue grid work)

4. AGPGart.kext = bootup with only 1024x768 but card is reading as AGPP

5. natit.kext + lastExile's driver = frozen black screen

This is where I need a bit of help with possible combos and what drivers (AGPGart) I should be working with. I downloaded XxX10.5.6 and will try to install it to get the resolution to work. If I can I will try to play with those drivers to get CI/QE to function. I have a feeling that I need to adjust something regarding the the amount of memory I have on the 3650 in relation to the AGP driver. Also, the x2000.kext driver on my MacBook is newer than the one used with the installer. I'm thinking of trying my Macbook drivers after install XxX10.5.6 so that both systems are on the same OS. Any added help would be great and I'll keep everyone posted. Also, is the IRC any good? couldn't get any help last night. Although, I hope I was able to help one person.

Update: Looks like I'm not using the XxX 10.5.6. It seems I have a problem with the 9.5 kernel and need to stick with the 9.2. I get kernel panics with the 9.5.

I just want to give thanks to lastExile, Netkas, Eps, JaS, ParanoidSe (Paranoid) and all the testers in #RadeonHD channel!

I just made my first hackintosh and was having problems getting the PowerColor HD 2600 XT PCIe x16 graphics card with 256 MB of DDR4 to work. I could only safe boot with -x, meaning no CI/QE graphics acceleration and no audio. Then, I stumbled across this post, downloaded the file for the matching device id#0x9588, and viola!

I can now just boot up normally and CI/QE works!

Many thanks

Makton,

I think it won't be that easy for us with this 3650-thingy :thumbsup_anim:

I had some hours these days, messing up with the plists of ATI2000X and Natit,

but even adding the 9596 ID and pointing out Triakis when necessary,

didn't have any success. The damn thing just refuses to work...

Nevermind, i can't post a pic right now, but i think i saw in Natit's info plist

that the two monitors (0 and 1) were defined as type "LCD".

Well, this might sound funny, cause i ain't a pro in tweaking plists,

but i think that might be the cause - at least in my case.

I am using a CRT-monitor, and because the card has 2 DVIs

(why the hell not a single VGA-port included?), i have to use

a DVI-DSub converter also...

Dunno. With my old GeForce 6800 TD with a single VGA-port,

i have never had any headaches getting the display to work properly.

I'm not giving up just yet. I grabbed the JAS10.5.4 last night and am going to try it tonight, but I'm sure that my system doesn't like the 9.5 kernel and I need to stick with the 9.2, so any DVD booting with the 9.5 kernel will not work for me. If I can get the driver to allow the video card change resolutions, I can start there. Problem is, I haven't eve gotten that far because the DVD's I've tried so far are the 9.5 kernel. If you can change resolutions with your system, could you hook me up with your natit.kext, AGPGart.kext and the ATI*.kexts. I want to see what is different. Also, is your card being read with 512MB of ram or 256MB of ram?
