np_ did u work with omni on the mouse tearing bug? cause i remember once u said u could handle the mouse cursor driver's part...

 

yes i do help omni but with basic thinks, these "ATI" specific i can't cuz i don't have ati

 

the only ways mouse tearing to be fexed are few

 

1: remove ATI(model)GA.plugn ( you lose CI/QE "supported")

2: write new GA plugin

3: hack current to return value much as possible in "BeamPosition" callback (in GA plugin)

4: by real iMac :whistle:

 

no other think can fix that

 

with new lowlevel driver or not will not fix this mouse tearing problem

because GA bundle do not call direcly driver but try userclient (surface) attached on ioaccelerator (ATI(model).kext )

eheh ok so it seems to be really a f***ing puzzle made by Apple...so i guess u meant that even helping omni with the basic thinks wont fix the mouse tearing cause it needs a new GA plugin which is a huge thing; or u know if omni is atm hackin the GA plugin to return value in "Beamposition" callback?

for the rest it's not too bad till i have mouselocator...

Do u expect to have the tearing bug with NVidia? i guess no because u write ur own lowlevel driver + GA plugin ehehe

4b: Buy a used PowerMac G4 off eBay. :poster_oops: A dualie doesn't cost like it used to, and works much better than any Hackintosh you can hope to put together. And you can stick a Radeon 9800 into it.

I don't know but my GMA 900 Hackintosh runs circles around my Dual Ghz G4.

 

 

 

My GMA 900 has a 800 Mhz bus speed. My Dual Ghz G4 as a 133 Mhz bus speed.

 

My GMA 900 has a 3 Ghz P4 and can run QE and CI.

 

My Dual Ghz G4 has an ATI 9000 and can only do QE.

 

The only thing my G4 is better as right now is Recording Audio. My GMA 900 does everything better.

Once the Intel Mac Towers come out from Apple, there will be PCIe / PCIx cards for Intel Macs with third party drivers! I would make sure your Hackintosh has a PCI Express slot.

 

You would think a third Party Video card company would see an opening here and create their own Cards and Drivers for the Hackintoshes. I think it would be legal as long as they don't see Mac Clones, just Mac compatible video cards.

I've done the installation of the patch with my x700 (5653).

Everything happened OK, but when I reboot my computer, after the grey screen of loading, I see polygons of colours, but It don't seems to be an OS !

Is anyone got an idea of the source of the problem?

On the 1st post, it says this doesn't work for the 200m card... is this still true, did anyone have any success with that particular card?

 

 

 

Well i have been experimenting with that...

 

 

so i used the 9700 patch method with "some" success.

 

Patched the kext.

Edited the plist

 

etc.. etc.. rebooted.

 

NOW the most interesting part:

after

 Apr 27 22:44:11 localhost /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow: Login Window Application Started

nothing happened, at 1st, then i saw my Mouse Cursor with the Spinning wheel, there right on the console text...

 

log:

 Apr 27 22:44:19 ice-cubeds-computer kernel[0]: ATIRadeon9700::wait_for_rb_space: Overflowed block waiting for FIFO space.   Have 0, need 5. RBBM_STATUS 0x8001c100

printed for a couple of hundred times

 

 

now, when i moved the mouse cursor to where the dock 'should' be - the cursor disapeared, i pressed f8(dashboard) and cursor disapeared, i pressed it again , and it apeared again.

 

 

Any ideas?

same problem here!! screen is mostly black with some coloured polygons, it is clearly mac os x, but is not usable at all, and i'm using the same x700 (0x56531002), any ideas??

Has anyone been able to do anything with the 9200 Radeon Mobility? I've been trying to hack the 8500 Radeon drivers, but no success other than getting OpenGL software rendering to somewhat function with 10.4.1 OpenGL Frameworks.

 

Any other ideas or hacks would be most helpful!

1. Copy Koverg's tgz archive to your desktop and double click on it

2. Open the terminal

3. Enter "cd Desktop/koverg*" (enter)

4. Enter "sudo ./patch9700.sh 4a 49" (enter)

5. Enter your root password (enter)

6. Enter "sudo nano -w /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon9700.kext/Contents/Info.plist" (enter)

7. Press "Ctrl + w"

8. Press "Ctrl + r"

9. Enter "5B60" (enter)

10. Enter "4a49" (enter)

11. Press "y"

12. Press "Ctrl + o" (enter)

13. Press "Ctrl + x"

14. Enter "sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache" (enter)

15. Enter "kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions" (enter)

16. Open the Disk Utility (Applications / Utilities) and click on "Repair Disk Permissions"

17. Reboot Mac OS X

 

And when I reboot, I have a message who say reboot my PC (each boot)

maybe im doing something wrong..

but

 

Device id: 5653 (x700 acer aspire 1694 Wlmi)

 

1. I Got Done: 0 matches in sudo ./patch9700.sh 56 53

2. I dont have /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon9700.kext/Content/MacOS/Info.plist

 

I only have /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon9700.kext/Content/Info.plist

 

3. I edited this one.. :D

 

4. My system doesnt boot... hell yeah :D

Nope, I got a working 5663 card. You can read what we did to make it work around page 9 or so. We used the the kext from 10.4.5. I have yet to try it with the new 10.4.6 kext.

Does not work with ATI xpress 200 chipset 5a61

 

Display turns to garbage once applied. Fresh install of 10.4.5 on intel D101GGC motherboard

However apple system profiler shows card as being on PCI bus but intels website says it should be on PCIe for this motherboard. Could this be the problem?

what is your version og mac osx? 10.4.6?

 

I tried DisplayConfigX but now my computer after reboot on displays a blue screen with the mouse pointer.. nothing else.. do I really need to do the mod first??
