Common Sense
niffer022: Edit the files NVDAResman.kext, GeForce.kext and NVDANV50HAL.kext. Remove all device ids currently located in the Info.plist in all of these files and put your own device id in their instead. The problem is that the kexts matches against all nvidia devices and that is a problem since your motheardboard has alot of nvidia devices. This ofcourse never happens on a real mac where only the gfx card is made by nvidia.
eddie11c
That is not the problem. He probably installed the video kexts without selecting NVinject to support them. Without something to enable the hardware the drivers will cause a panic. The only device ID's included in the kexts are those of real video cards. Nvidia may use the same device ID's of chipsets over and over, they do not use the video device ID's over.
niffer022
Do this. Boot into single user mode with -s from Darwin./sbin/fsck -fy /sbin/mount -uw / ./options choose remove video choose Nvidia type exit and see what happens. mate you are a star... that did the trick booted straight into leopard just need to figure out how to get my eithernet working for some internet action. a thousand thank you's from the wife since now i dont have to spend all that money on a real mac lmao

kitmac
go to osx.kbot.de and Look at the Eddiec11'sv3 post. Some users have posted an alternate way to fix that problem. Maybe that will fix the problem for youSorry I wrote this late last night. If you don't have that kext in the extensions folder then I am assuming that is not what is causing "waiting for root device" You could possibly try that, I am not sure if it will work but it's worth a shot. What are your computer specs? Also you can try my suggestion to selfdestruct. If you are using Windows try using Rarzilla- it's free.If you are using Mac try using unRarX- it's also free.

Okay let me see if i understand this.....I can use a program such as "gumby" or "ppf-omatic" to patch Leo4allv3 .DMG file with the "oldnforce PPF" file that came with leo4allv3...and that would would revert to nforce version 1.2.... ????? Fix permissions on the new .DMG and boot with -f .........???? Plz break down how to correctly patch an ISO because i have no idea and can't seem to find concise instructions. You asked about my set up here goes: Abit AN-M2 AMDX2 6000+ 4GB RAM Chipset: nVidia GeForce 7025/nForce 630a. Audio ALC888 Netgear GA311 All of this currently works in my kalyway 10.5.2 install BTW
nickinnz
I am getting a few problems trying to boot up. Initially I had looking for root device problem then after changing bios SATA control option it got passed that. At one point it seem to have started up except screen was black. Now I am getting this panic error stack trace.. Does anyone know what it might be?
eddie11c
What version of ACPIPlatform did you install? If you did not specify one it is version 1.1.0. You could try a fresh install with 1.0.3, which is the same as whats used on the DVD and see if you get the same error.
nickinnz
I just tried it with ACPIPlatform version 1.0.3 but still getting the same problem. Might just have to stop trying lol..

Detosx
Hi As with Leo4allv2, still taking about four or five tries to bootup - freezing variously on the first mention of ACPIPS2Nub and of ACPIPlatform - and sometimes when I finally get to the login screen, the keyboard doesn't work. I went with the defaults on install but added a tick to the powermanagement checkbox. Sleep doesn't feature heavily in my life, sorry if I missed something? Acer 4720z, dual core, GMA X3100. datura_au
For me, the installer is freezing at 2 minutes to go. The screen locks up then I have to force shut-down. Leo4all V2 didn't do this (but I couldn't get video/ethernet working and it kept freezing). Does anyone else have this problem? My specs are: MB: ASUS M2N-SLI (NForce 5 chip and onboard LAN) CPU: AMD 6000+ X2 RAM: 4GB DDR2 RAM PCI-E: ATI 2400 HD Pro (Have a driver but no QE) SATA Drives but installing on IDE SATA and IDE ASUS DVD-RW Any help would be appreciated.
