Three LOUD CHEERS for the hard working OC Devs Vit, Mr Fritz and the whole team to get us this far with Big Sur and for the Supervisors and Admins for putting up with all the garbage we littered the site with on the subject, although we have fallouts and heated discussions along the way, I am sure we are all in agreement THAT we do appreciate what you do for the community11 points

Latest OpenCore commit is able to boot the installer and pre-existing installed macOS 11 Big Sur with kext injection without using prelinkedkernel nvram variables. It is now able to boot both with the new kernel collections method.7 points

Hopefully Beta 2 would be released today and we can have a better idea where the install from USB is heading to. Installing to VM or expanding dmg to empty hard drive is such a hassle. My Catalina install is flawless as far as I am concerned. So I am gonna wait and watch. Big Sur GUI looks tempting to try so I just cannot wait for talented Clover or OpenCore devs to come up with USB install method. It's devs vs devs. Let's see who wins.2 points

Either by removing them from NVRAM > Add > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 section and then resetting NVRAM from OpenCore boot menu or by removing them from NVRAM > Add > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 section and adding them to the NVRAM > Delete > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 section like without resetting NVRAM from OpenCore boot menu like below.2 points

Thank you so much @black.dragon74! I can finally boot to the installer of Big Sur. I have created a partition on my M.2 SATA 1TB SSD, but none of the partitions including the SSD are showing up on either Install or Disk Utility. Do I need any extra kexts to show APFS partitions/containers? I can only see the USB stick and Disk Image I am booting from. Thanks in advance!1 point

@Cyberdevs I had enabled HideAuxillary=YES, making that NO fixed the missing Reset NVRAM option. Thank you.1 point

@lottenow try to boot only with Lilu, WhateverGreen and VirtualSMC. It will work then.1 point

Greetings to all! I'm seeing that things are moving faster with kernel collection and kext injection, after spending the whole day yesterday trying to install (install, not restore) big sur on qemu without success, I tried again today, since I saw that the work is still in development (as always) and some commits were added, to lilu too. Kernel patching and kext injection seem to work, apart from manually pointing the boot picker after the first and second reboot I'm able to have the installation screen to show and proceed. I'm stuck after the second reboot, when you choose to boot from "Preboot", with "No port micro restart (we don't support SMC on this platform)": after this it reboots and loops. I will follow the progress on github, I don't know if you are already aware of the issue and/or if you have a solution or not, just to report my trials. On another chinese forum a user said he solved the issue by pointing oc to clover, pointing to mac os (???????????) --> I don't like it at all. (edited, as it's a non sense..) Thanks for your hard work, you are the best!1 point

Era già stato notificato Da sottolineare come già stato detto onde evitare false illusioni, che l'installazione non funziona. Funziona solo l'avvio di un sistema preesistente.1 point

Anyone wanting to boot an existing Big Sur install with Clover can do it now. Necessary files have been published and it got a little easier: https://www.hackintosh-forum.de/forum/thread/49311-macos-11-bigsur-dev-beta-clover-patch/?postID=619527#post619527 Make sure you have Big Sur already installed on your drive (Installer not working yet!) Use the Clover build attached to the post linked above Paste the kernel patches inside your config.plist Use latest OcQuirks, otherwise it won't boot If you don't know how to use that stuff, it isn't for you.1 point

The error I have is not for a preinstalled macOS 11, it's for the USB Installer I'm aware of that workaround for booting into the preinstalled version of BigSur and with those values in the config the installer will end up in a never ending loop of SIGABRT error. Or how about you have a little decency and don't get involved in the matters that doesn't concern you?1 point

Here is the new version of TINU, updated to support better catalina and big sur and also to solve some of the issues you had: https://github.com/ITzTravelInTime/TINU/releases/tag/3.0_BETA_3_(70) EDIT: if it doesn't open the app or the terminal after the password prompt try to moove the app to your desktop first, open it, and it should work1 point
