Hi!

I'm Paul, a musician and avid tinkerer. I got into OSx86 as a proof of concept project for myself, and am now considering/saving for a Macbook or iMac (hopefully to be obtained in the near future). I still have a lot to learn, thus my registration here. =D

My current project is getting Snow Leopard to run on my HP dv9000 laptop and my MSI X48C Platinum Intel Core 2 Quad 8200 system. I've had much success with the laptop in terms of Leopard (everything but the WiFi and Garageband work, and the camera is shotty). I hope to learn more about OS X and it's adaptatons.

Im an audio engineer/sound designer in progress. I have a bachelors in music production and technology, and presently at Vancouver Film School for sound design for visual media and video games. 'Thinkin of building a hackintosh for video game audio because most audio middleware and game engines only run on Windows but I use Mac for all my audio work in Pro Tools.

Ive been a musician for 12 years. Guitar is my main instrument. I played in a funk rock psychedelic band during college around Nashville and Murfreesboro.

Any audio questions? Hit me up!!!

Hey everyone!

My name is Walter, I've never posted on this site but it's been a major help in my build. I'm a fairly n00b user, and I can't begin to imagine the amount of time and effort all of you have put in figuring out many of the solutions we can find within this site. I'd just like to say hi, and most of all thank you to anyone and EVERYONE who has posted suggestions, made the effort to tackle hardware issues, or just generally been helpful to all of us that rely on your help! I truly appreciate everything available to me on this site, and the overall success I've had with the information found here.

Thanks to all of you I have a completely working system with the following specs:

Kalyway 10.5.2 install

Asus P5E3 Pro motherboard

Intel E6750 overclocked @ 3.22Ghz

4GB Aeneon X-tune DDR3 @ 1600mhz

EVGA GeForce 9800GTX+

2x500GB Western Digital Sata drives @ RAID 0 for storage

1x80GB Samsung Sata drive for OS

Everything runs flawless!! Even QE/CI (which I was having issues with until very recently).

Cheers,

Walter.

Hello, my name is Ice. I work as an equipment service engineer for a manufacturing company in China. I am a long time user of Windows. I started using DOS when DOS was still young, until it became Windows 3.1, '95, '98 up to now when life sucks with Vista.

I really enjoyed my Hackbook pro a lot, and I never went back to Windows again. Currently this notebook is only running OSX and no other plans to install any other OS on it.

My name's Phill O'Sattio Campeotto, I'm as my name implies half Italian. I finished university last year with a major in business economics. Something I later learned was useful for just about nothing, so I decided to start taking flying lessons, and I currently fly tourists on sightseeing tours..

Hi everyone,

I'm a science phd student, and I basically sit in front of my laptop (macbook pro) all day long... :)

I've been using macs all my life and I love them dearly :P in fact, whenever I so much as look at a windows box... something seems to go wrong and it breaks :D

Outside of work, I recently got into photography. I also like traveling, reading, cooking, and socializing with friends.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you :D

Hi guys.

My name's Sam, I'm from Australia and I work for Frontier Media. We're an Australian company who specialise in online application programming (stuff like social networking interfaces, remote asset management, cms modifications) and application development (from-scratch social networking sites, custom developed content management systems, that kind of stuff). We do a little bit of the boring standard work (regular web design / hosting) but most of our active projects are site redesign, efficiency analysis or custom coding in PHP / Java / SQL.

I've come to this forum to have a chat with other OSx86 owners and - hopefully - get some tips on making my Snow Leopard install run smoothly.

Would love to help out the community as much as possible and (while this is a great forum) I feel like I could probably offer some very helpful tips if I can get a few days to look around. My day job is pretty much looking at sites like this and picking up flaws, then making solutions to solve them. Since I'm coming to you guys with my problems I'd be happy to help solve some of yours.

-Sam

Hi I'm Freaky.

Started OSX in Intel Since Deadmoo release of his disk image since 10.4.0 Tiger.

Was always fascinated with OSX. Never had the money to buy an Original. Deadmoo made dream come true.

Joined InsanelyMac with a view to achieve advanced learning and how to, guides, help etc.

Have posted few guides as well.

My computing experience began with DOS way back in 1980s. Next barged in Windows 3.1 and 3.11 for workgroups.

Soon followed the pioneers to world domination --> '95, '98, & the world's largest functional virus "Vista"!

Except that Windows 7 is way better than it, and much closer to Xp, actually.

If it weren't for gaming, I would not have a single .EXE executable on my PC!

I am totally in love with my iHack Pro! been using it since 3 years now. From Leopard to Snow Leopard 64bit.

I never went back to Windows again, for work. Only when playing games. Which are on a hiatus since last 6 months due to work and studies.

I'm an MBA in Systems, and a Features Writer and Editor by Profession.

Regards,

Freaky Chokra :ninja:

I just joined here as I'm looking into the OSx86 project for my computer setup. I'm an avid recording engineer by hobby, and I miss having a mac because recording audio was so much easier for me. I'm currently starting a marketing/advertising business and I also design websites. Thanks to this community for providing such a great source of information of anything mac.

Hello's, I'm Kynareth, or just Kyn.

I'm in my senior years in high school, studying Computers, Technology, Chemistry and History.

I work with my friend on a games journalism site where I code every now and then.

I love music, it's a big part of my life, I can play the guitar, piano and the Irish Tin Whistle.

My favourite bands/Artist are Paramore and Taylor Swift.

I live in Ireland and am proud to be Irish, haha.

I've really only dealt with the mac scene very recently over the last few months, but I've loved every moment of it, it's quickly becoming my favourite operating system.

I've just gotten Snow Leopard 10.6.3 installed on my HP dv7-1020ea and am looking forward to running every aspect of the Mac software =]

Thanks for all the help that people have posted over time that really got me through some of the problem's I've encountered so far!
