sicily, boot a Linux Live CD, open the Terminal, and type
lspci -nn
if that doesn't work, type
lspci
and paste the output here.

I'm using the new osx86 boot cd. The only way I could even get it to install and not panic was using modbin. I try that again to boot and it sticks on the screen that I took a pic of.

UPDATE::::
Got it to boot, had to reload and deselect every option except the chipset for ati (not the top choice, the one above jmicron). after install, opened terminal. copied kexts from install usb and gave permissions, rebooted with modcd rd(0,0)/extra/modbin_kernel -v -f. Success. Manually loaded my ethernet kext and now I'm updating this on mac 10.6
Now just gotta get everything else to work without screwing something up, lol.
