  1. hello all. I have a question. I managed to get something resembling a text readable version of a DSDT file in Ubuntu 11.04 using the Firmware Test Suite. what that package generated was a DSDT.dsl file and I am wondering how to convert it to a standard dsdt file as used by OS X snow leopard. Currently, I am typing from my current OS X installation, but would like to install snow leopard to my Fujitsu Lifebook laptop. I have attached that file below for your parusal. I may need a little help with this as I am totally blind and not every application I use is screenreader friendly. any help or suggestions on how to convert this file would be of immense help. -eric
  2. ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 SSD 120GB Corsair SATA 2.5", Force 3 Series Corsair 8GB (KIT) DDR3 VENGEANCE 1,5V CL9 RED ATI HD4850 RADEON 1024MB I've been trying for days to find the right version to install on my PC but failed. Therefore I'm turning here to find help with it. I'd really appreciate exact links to specific .isos or download that you know from experience works with the hardware I've attached. The latet try was the iPC 10.5.6 iso which froze in the installation at this part: "USBF: 0,454 Attempting to get EHCI Controller from BIOS USBF 0.454 Attempting to get EHCI Controller from BIOS USBF 0.454 USBLEGCTLSTS value c0082007 USBF 0.454 Found USBLEGSUP_ID - value 0x10001 - writing OSOwned USBF 0.566 acquireOSOwnership done - value 0x1000001 USBF 0.579 USBLETCTLSTS value c0082007 " I also tried the Hazard 10.6.6 version and the problem with this one was that first of all the Apple logo appeared and it starte loading, but after a while the no symbol (the red ring with a line diagonally through it) appeared over the apple logo and it froze there. Help is really appreciated! Regards (I'm sorry if I've posted this in the wrong category or something, I'm new to this forum and new to the hackingtosh thing)
  3. Has anyone update to Security Update 2011-006 from 10.6.8 i've worked hard on my hackintosh hate to start again!
  4. I was wondering, is it okay to install certain software through software update if you're running on 10.6.8 legacy kernel instead of a vanilla kernel? Or will it break my system? I'm running a snow leopard system on my Dell OptiPlex GX520 with 4 gigs of ram, and a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4HT Here's my software update window. install.tiff Which software is safe to install?
  5. Hello guys, I've got a laptop with a Clevo M7X0SU motherboard and a NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS graphics card. Well I'm trying to update my Snow Leopard from 10.6 to 10.6.8. I am using 32 bit mode. Updates until 10.6.4 went fine, then when updating to 10.6.5 I had to remove the NVEnabler.kext (because of a black screen), then updates until 10.6.7 went fine too. Now I'm updating to 10.6.8. I replaced the IOUSBFamily.kext with the one from 10.6.7 to get my USB functionality back. Now I can only boot with "GraphicsEnabler=no" flag into VGA mode (1024 x 768). Until 10.6.7 the graphics worked fine. But now when I try to boot with graphics enabler I get a green screen. When I try the following flags: PCIRootUID=0 + GraphicsEnabler=yes -> Green screen PCIRootUID=1 + GraphicsEnabler=yes -> VGA mode (like no graphics enabler) I tried to use NVEnabler kext, but there I get either this or the same green screen. Do you have any idea? Thank you in advance! Greetings, Max
  6. My first post in here. I have been trying to install hackintosh in my Sony Vaio for the past 5 days without any success. Tried iAtkos S3 v2, Hazard 10.6.1-10.6.2, Hazard 10.6.6i, all failed. I was able to boot to the DVD and reach till the customization screen. But I am not sure about the options to be selected in the customization. I am doing a fresh install, and the installation reaches till end. But when I try to boot to the installed mac I had never reached the desktop. If someone have installed mac successfull in vaio or those who can give me a step by step process I will be really thankful. 7. Hi everybody, I want just to tell you that Belkin wifi dangle N150 (F7D1102az) is working like a charm in both Snow leopard and Lion. You can get the drivers from realtek RTL8192CU web site http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=48&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true Regards,

    AMD - Geekbench scores

Because there's no better way to measure our degree of success than seeing what the numbers say. Well, maybe not: real life user experience cannot be reduced to numbers only, but surely they matter. Post here your results. Let's show our fellow Intel hackintoshers how good an AMD machine can be! This one is not mine, but from Gilles:
  9. Ciao ragazzi!
  10. Hey All, I'm new here so please go easy on me A little background: I need to run 10.6 as I still need to use older OSX apps (I make music and a few of my apps will only run <10.6) My specs are: ASUS P8P67 PRO (2103) 8Gb Kingston Hyper-X DDR3 @ 1833 i7 2600K O/C to 4.7 Barracuda 500Gb Ok, so I have done the following: Used a combination of the "other" boot cd called "Legacy" and the Andyboot cd found on this board to install base 10.6. Updated to 10.6.7 using combo update. Installed the "other" bootloader, then the P8P67PRO driver package from the same place as the Andyboot cd. Played around with the chameleon.org.boot.plist file until my grahics came back (from 10.6.4 to 10.6.7 my 8800GT 1Gb was only being recognised as a 16Mb Nvidia card). Tried to get sound and firewire recognised to no avail. So, I am now at 10.6.7 with my CPU being correctly ID'd (only the i7 bit, not the speed) and being able to boot with no CD (this took weeks of pain ) I have tried re-applying the Andy drivers but it doesn't make a difference. I have a couple of questions still: 1. Can I have an idiot-proof guide to geting my sond working please I know it's an ALC 892 . I've tried both the Andy drivers and the he "other" site but to no avail. It still says no sound device (not a game stopper as I am going to stick a PCI-E MOTU FW audio card in (anyone used this is a Hackintosh yet?) 2. How do I get the FW port seen by System Profiler? It shows up as a network device so I know the system sees it (again, not a huge biggie but I'd like it to work) Also, I'd like to update to 10.6.8 but seem to remember reading it breaks some stuff (like APCI kexts etc)..I have run the "update helper" from the "other" Hackintosh site and rebooted, but wouldn't mind some advice before I pull the update trigger Should I install the official NVIDIA drivers for this graphics card? Lastly, does anyone know if I will be able to get a NVIDIA GTX480 working in 10.6? I read somewhere that it will work in >10.7 but you need the CUDA drivers..as I say above, I don't want 10.7 (already runnig it on a MacPro hence my need to "downgrade" to 10.6 Thanks in advance and happy to screendump any logs etc All the best jake
  11. Hi, I have a Pc with an AMD FX-4100, 8 Gigs of Ram, and a radeon 6870 2gb. I used Nawcom's Mod CD to install OSX (with a few boot flags) and it succeeds and reboots. After reboot, it starts to boot into OSX, but hangs at Controller will be unloaded across sleep. Could it be that im installing to a usb external 2tb hdd? If anyone knows how to fix this issue, please respond.
_____________________ Snow Leopard 10.6.0 --> 10.6.7 Guida installazione su Asus P6T e P6T SE Guide alternative di riferimento: P6T SE Asus P6T SE Retail Snow Leopard Installation Guide [FLASHDRIVE] by tweak41 P6T [TUTORIAL/GUIDE] ASUS P6T (Non-Deluxe) Snow Leopard Installation Guide by vincentjames501 Asus X58 Snow Leopard su Asus X58 by iReset Premessa. 15. I installed everything nice and easy and can boot into OS X 10.6 easily by using the -x boot flag. However, without it I can only get passed the apple splash only to be hit with an ugly glitched looking black and grey screen. However, I can boot without any flags using the ModCD. The screen resolution no matter how I boot it is whack, just can't see the finder bar. So I just need help figuring ot what is going on. I have the impression that it is a graphics card error, but my GPU is recognized completely by the system. My specs: GATEWAY GT5228 -Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce 6100 -Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4600 -CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ -RAM: 2GB DDR2 I want to also add that I used SnowLeo for the installation and used the following options in 'Customize' (note, I did not take out in memory or my GPU during installation): -Azaila audio -ATI_init -Chameleon R5 -AMD Patch -Chocolate Kernel -FakeSMC -PlatformUUID -AppleTRL8169(LAN) -LegacyApplePIIXATA Any help is much appreciated I am also willing to reinstall if you suggest it.
  16. Hi there. Soo i was trying install mac at 4 days ago and finnaly today i can. I installed the Leopard and all works fin except the keyboard and ps2 mouse. And then i try a lot to put a .kext with transmac on windows xp cause im dual booting it.When i try to use Transmac i have the error"This drive is read only". Who i fix this?! This is my first question! The second i think is more hard. I have a Amilo Pro V3505 with 2gb ram and Intel GMA 945, a Intel Pentium T2130 idk the motherboard i aleardy try find the name but i couldnt with a Atheros ar5007eg wirless adapter. So i instal iAtkos S3 v2 but when i was booting(after installing) it he boots and starts make the sound of the animation video of snow leopard but THE SCREEN WAS GREY WITHOUT THE APPLE LOGO AND WITHOUT THE MOUSE JUST A GREY SCREEM. Well i try much flags but when i try GraphicsEnabler=No while the booting appears i recuve the message "you need to restart the computer" and i restart and gives again the same error. I think is some missing kext graphical but i cant add/remove kexts cause transmac give error! Thanks in advanced!
  17. I've been scowering the forums for a fix for a couple weeks now, installed all forms of VoodooHDA, Ensoniq audio to fix the audio stuttering issues in Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on VMware, I ended up taking a break for a bit, and attempted to start the VM in Virtualbox, the audio works flawlessly without lag. The problem is however, in Virtual box i have non of the benefits of VMware Additions for OSX (Video Drivers, Shared Folders About This Mac, etc... and quite a few other things don't work properly. Is there possibly a way to use VMware additions on a virtual machine in Virtualbox or use Virtualbox Audio device in VMware? If not is there some way to figure out the difference at boot/loading etc thats allowing Virtualbox to properly play audio, view USB connected items, and mounted CD Images? There has to be a way....after audio most every problem is solved and the install is flawless (USB/Mounted can be ignored because of VMware shared folders) Possibly if i can get some more adept people to assist me, together we can provide a workaround for all the Audio Stutter woes that envelop the forums (at least from extensive googling past few days hello 150 tabs >.>) Thanks in advance, even if i'm just plucking at straws, typing this relieves a bit of stress as i've been troubleshooting this for a week or so straight
  18. Hello, I'm trying to get a VM of OSX 10.6 on my PC. I'm running Windows 10 with an i7 4710HQ and Nvidia 860m. I've been trying this method here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/290949-how-to-install-os-x-10x-snow-leopard-lion-mountain-lion-mavericks-and-yosemite-in-vmware-workstation-1011-or-player-67/ along with Unlocker 2: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/339-unlocker/ Now, this is the farthest I've made it trying to do this. I'm able to see an Apple Logo, and then it gives me an error saying that the guest OS is not Mac OSX Server 10.6. So I changed my Vmware to Workstation 11, and tried it with again and it gave the same error each time. I don't have the other OS versions, and I'm not sure whether I'm still doing something wrong, or whether it's a win 10 issue? I'm really new to this, and have never done OSX on a VM before. I also forgot to mention, but I bought my own Snow leopards CD, and I'm still trying to figure out that guide.
  19. How i can change my laptop to Mac OS having following configuration ? ASUS K55VD i3 2350M CPU @ 2.30 GHz 2.0 GB NVIDIA GEFORCE 610m 4.0 RAM Windows 7 Ultimate 500 HDD
  20. So I've used Nawcom's ModCD with a retail .dmg of snow leopard and regardless of what I do, I seem to run into the same issue. I get this message: "Bacxktrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x437f0718 : 0x21b3a4 (0x58c612 0x2 0x347f13e8 0x223a12) warning: invalid kernel ip, won't attempt to trap Debugger called: <double panic>" This is what I got under the hood: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 (Two of em) 16 GB DDR3 AMD Phenom II X 4 965 BE
  21. perhaps this is the right forum for this: I got SL 10.6.8 running on a PC with AMD Phenom II X6 1100T and VMware 8.0.2. SL image is boot using a DVD Room drawin_legacy.iso. The Kernel of the Mac is the latest legacy kernel i got it fromhttp://www.osx86.net...el_10.8_v2.html and i also chose the force64 option. It's running nicely with 1 Core (or 1 CPU) assigned to the Mac Guest OS. I can even connect my iphone to it via the VMware USB relay. However it is not idea as it is slow with only 1 Core. When I assign 2 Core (or even 4 Core) to the Guest OS, I can boot it and run it with no problem. However, I will get the horrible CPU(s) have been disabled by Guest message after a few hours of running. I always leave the PC and the Guest running all the time. There is no pattern on when I will get the CPU disabled message. I therefore disabled all the screensaver or energy related features within the Guest OS but i have no luck. I wonder anyone can shed some light into this and tell me how kind of log files I need to look at? I tried the /var/log/system.log but nothing happened the crashing. many thanks !
  22. Having problems emptying my trash can after delete about 12GB of junk I had copied from my brother Windows PC hard drive. I was backing up his data so I could completely wipe his PC. After I finished copying back his data to his computer, I just went and dragged the entire HD image to the trash (oops). I have delete large video files and multiple DVD images before in my Mac, but for some reason the trash did not empty this time. I tried Secure empty trash which usually takes care of stubborn deletes. And even after a reboot it still shows I have my trash can filled. I also tried: rm -rf ~/.Trash/* It is not emptying the trash can. Both with and without the "sudo". Any ideas on what to do? I recently upgraded the 10.7.5 supplemental without problems. TIA Currently running OS X 10.7.5 / OS X 10.6.8 / Ubuntu Studio 12.04 / Windows XP Boots to Lion with Chamaleon, 3 internal HD (OSs) & 1 external HD (data)
  23. So i've managed to do what seemed impossible: Run Snow Leopard on this machine. I did this by following the tutorial made by the youtube user "mendietinha", kudos to him. Since i don't have any dual layer dvds i copied all the contents of the 10.6.3 install disc to a HFS+ partition under linux, and started the installation from there using nawcom's modcd. Everything went fine, all required kexts are installed and the system is running almost perfectly. And all system and security updates are installed. I have full QE/CI, audio, internet... But there are a few minor problems which i would like to solve. - After the update to 10.6.8, iTunes and DVD Player won't open ("Application closed unexpectedly!") - The audio is stuttering, very choppy. Tried adjusting VoodooHDA settings but no avail. - The hard drive icons are not shown in the desktop. These are the only problems i found, the rest is perfect. Is there anything i can do? Or could someone point me to a topic where i can find a solution? My hardware: - AMD Phenom 8450 X3 CPU at 2.11GHz - 4GB 800MHz DDR2 RAM - Foxconn M61PMV motherboard with Nvidia MCP61P chipset (AKA nForce 430) - XFX Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 64-Bit PCI-E 2.1 graphics card - 1TB Samsung HD103SJ SATA 2 Hard Drive - LG GH24NS95 SATA 2 DVD/CD burner.

    Legacy USB Support

I have just installed iATKOS S3 v2 on old Toshiba L300 (Intel T4300) on USB-attached drive. HDD is attached to two USB 2.0 ports,. Two ports are needed to supply proper voltage to HDD. After reboot I received "EBIOS Red Error". I cannot disable "Legacy USB Support" in BIOS because HDD will not work properly? I have succesfully installed iDeneb 1.4 in VMWare Player 5 on this machine but it is too slow
  25. I got a retail copy of Snow Leopard 10.6.3 I changed the mach_kernel to legacy kernel and dumped the image to a USB bootable drive with clover using Bootdisk Utility. I can boot the disk, get all the way to the GUI screen. but it stops at the grey screen with a spinning wheel. With no error messages... I have not a clue on where to start in resolving this issue. any ideas/help is welcome.
