1. How to directly boot into specific volume, for me MACOS,Just like clover DefaultVolume. Thanks EFI: https://github.com/dhb52/z370-opencore BTW, another question. I use Clover install on ssd along with macOS installed. And I use a GUID partitioned HHD for TimeMachine backup, which I have my OC EFI installed to boot the same `macOS`. by comparing usage of both booters, it seems that when using OC, my Win7(Paralled Desktop 14 vm) uses more memory, by opening Task Manager.

Clover USB Won't Boot

First post, thank you all for any help offered. I am coming from a certain commercialized hackintosh community - after seeing such amazing vanilla installs and reading of the talent here, I decided to have a go at not using such software methods. And I immediately got myself into a predicament BACKSTORY I successfully upgraded from Mavericks to Mojave 10.14.2 but decided to start over and do a clean install because my Vega Frontier was not playing OOB even with Lilu & whatevergreen - and there was a lot of 'code junk' Clover barfed at boot from this 'commercialized software'. SUCCESS I created Mojave USB installer from scratch using the latest Clover, it worked fine, got me to the Mojave install screen. PROBLEM For reasons unknown to me, I decided for one last ditch effort to see if I could get my already installed Mojave playing nicer - instead of starting over clean. So I installed the latest Clover on my Mojave SSD, (it had a Clover version YEARS ago when I last installed Mavericks) and I replaced the EFI file with the kexts and config of my USB EFI file because I figured, since the USB installer launched, it was all good to go. Now nothing boots after BIOS. Not my Mavericks drive, Mojave SSD, nor my USB Mojave Installer. They all hang right where Clover usually launches. I look at my USB lights and nothing flashes... The only drive I can use is Windows 8.1 (my testing environment) and not from Clover. That's just booting windows up without any HD's plugged in. Is there a way to rescue my predicament? I don't have another Mac computer and CloverConfig only runs on Mac. Is there a way to fix the USB from Windows? Thanks! Specs: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 rev. 2.0, FC BIOS, i7-980x, Vega64 Frontier Edition, Nvidia GTX480, 24 GB 1333 RAM, SSD + various hardrives
4. 5. I've been happily using macOS Sierra 10.12.6 (16G29) successfully for more than a year (all things working), but now I replaced my old Asus GTX 750 Ti card with a new Zotac GTX 1060 6GB, and it get stuck on boot just before going to the login screen (verbose boot screen attached). I've updated Clover with all its kexts, and reinstalled the Nvidia Web Drivers (using nvidia-update script), but it's still stuck in the same part. I can only enter using nv_disable=1 My current Hackintosh specs: Motherboard MSI H110M Gaming (MS-7994) (LGA 1151/Intel H110/DDR4/SATA 3 & USB 3.1) CPU Intel Core i5-6600 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 1151 65W RAM HyperX FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2133 (PC4-17000) HX421C14FBK2/16 Video Zotac GTX 1060 6GB SSD Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB HDD Western Digital Black 1TB (32MB Cache) (WDC WD1001FALS-00J7B1) I've read that maybe it can be fixed patching the DSDT, but I don't know how to do it. My RunMe.app generated zip file and verbose boot screen are attached. Any kind of help is appreciated. Thanks. Send me Coke-iMac.zip
6. This was spurred on from a discussion in the Clover General thread. Where there was a debate on bcdedit being able create/read/edit (U)EFI Boot entries. I didn't think it appropriate to post all this information there and somebody may want to make use of this and its likely to get lost in that massive thread. Out of curiosity I decided to see if I could create an EFI entry using bcdedit. What can I say I like a challenge. Whilst is not a documented method by Microsoft, as it turns out in a round about way it IS possible to create an EFI entry using bcdedit and these are the steps I went through to add UEFI Shell located on a USB stick to the EFI entries. Third party software is available that can create and edit UEFI entries from Windows with better support and more features. I'm just making this information available in case those options are unavailable. DISCLAIMER - This is not a supported method. Use at your own risk. I recommend backing up your BCD/Firmware variables/settings beforehand. 1) Copy {bootmgr} entry. C:\Windows\System32>bcdedit /copy {bootmgr} /d "UEFI Shell" The entry was successfully copied to {34e8383c-73a7-11e9-9cb0-94de8078a7b5}. 2) Edit the new entry using the new GUID bcdedit generated in the copy step. a) Set the device and path for UEFI shell on my USB stick. bcdedit /set {34e8383d-73a7-11e9-9cb0-94de8078a7b5} device partition=G: bcdedit /set {34e8383d-73a7-11e9-9cb0-94de8078a7b5} path \EFI\SHELL\SHELLX64.efi b) Clean up some of the stuff that was copied from {bootmgr} (optional as far as I can tell, just makes things tidier in bcdedit) 3) Put the new EFI entry first in boot order. (optional) After completing the steps above, here is what "bcdedit /enum firmware" shows: I shutdown my computer and when I turned my computer back on it booted up into UEFI Shell. After exiting the shell my PC went on to boot Windows. Here is the resulting dump using "bcfg boot dump -v" from that shell: You may notice that the shell shows as "Windows Boot Manager" in the bcdedit output. This I believe is because of the "WINDOWS" at the beginning of the option data that bcdedit added to the EFI Boot entry. I also believe this why bcdedit shows my Windows 8 installation as "Firmware Application" because it has no option data. I don't know how to remove this data using bcdedit nor do I know how the option data, that bcdedit adds, will affect other EFI applications. There might be a way to create the EFI entry without copying the Windows entry but if there is I'm unable to find any documentation on how one would do so. If you use the create command then it just puts it in the BCD and I'm unaware of a way to tell it to create it in EFI instead, other than by doing the above.
7. Hello everybody, I'm from Brazil, if someone wants to write in portuguese, i will understand too. But english is fine. Days ago I installed the High Sierra, using the image (HighSierraAMD V2 UEFI.dmg). I have an FX8320e, the Asus M5A78L-M / USB3 mobo, GTX 750 and 12GB of RAM. Well, I build Hackintosh to run audio programs. Everything is working except the USB audio card on the card. But I read that some gyus updates to 10.13.4 or higher and it work. But I have some problem with startup and shutdown. I had installed the Clover in different ways, but it did not appear at startup. If I do not use the pen drive to boot, I do not have access to the system. I've tried different solutions. I formatted the EFI partition using the Terminal and reinstalled the Clover, but it also did not work. The other problem is the shutdown. The system goes off, but the fans and the mobo remains on. I need to manually press the on/off button to turn off the computer. I had used the Clover Configurations App to set the flag (shutdonw fix) but it not work too. I think this might be related to the boot problem. Thanks for any help!
8. Short Version: I have two drives with the exact same EFI folder (and I can boot into Clover from either one), shouldn't I be able to boot into MacOS from either one? More Detail: I've done a few hacks so far and this never happened. (Gigabyte z370 / 8700k / Vega, Asus z390 / i5-9600k / 1080). Now, I'm setting up a ThinkPad X1 Gen 6. (Yes, I do expect problems on laptops, but that's not the question). Mojave 10.14.4 now boots from the internal SSD. So far, so good. Here's the problem. I installed Mojave on a USB drive (for backup / rescue) and copied the entire EFI partition of my boot drive to the EFI partition on the USB drive. So... I should be able to boot from the USB drive, right? Wrong. Ran Clover installer on the USB itself. Same outcome. With F12, I can boot from the USB into Clover and select the OS on the USB. The boot sequence hangs on End Random Seed, but before the usual '++++++++' line. So, boot into Clover on internal boot drive, then select OS on USB. Same thing. Read the forums, I saw the posts about AptioMemoryFix, so I tried the various other drivers on the USB. No go. I haven't found the solution yet to the USB boot issue, but what puzzles me is that if I have two drives with the exact same EFI folder (and I can boot into Clover from either one), shouldn't I be able to boot into MacOS from either one?

Hello guys, I've got this laptop here, which works quite nice, especially since I've installed Windows 8 (RP) on it. But since I've always wanted to try Hackintosh on a laptop I decided to do it. Downloaded iAtkos L2, burned it on a DVD. Tested it, went straight to HDD boot after having set DVD boot as 1st prio. Then I disabled all other boot priorities but DVD. The screen appeared to turn on and off continuously. I let it do that for a while till I just stopped it. I think the whole laptop was restarting, because the bios procedure is really fast when you restart or stay on the same OS, regardless of OS I'm using (W7/W8), so I imagine some problem with drivers? Anything you guys know about? I've searched all over for anyone having the same issue. Thanks in advance. Something keeps chrashing, but I'm also trying to say my desktop can boot from the disk and the laptop did boot from W7 and W8 disks and usb.

14. so i have clover installed and windows 8 installed as uefi. when i boot windows through the bios it works fine but when i boot windows efi through clover it goes to the windows boot logo spins a few times then my monitor just turns off. the computer is still on and the fans are still running so i cant tell if windows is still running just without the graphics card. when i start windows in safemode through clover though it boots just fine. anyone else have this issue or know how to solve it? 15. Hi, I have a Pc with an AMD FX-4100, 8 Gigs of Ram, and a radeon 6870 2gb. I used Nawcom's Mod CD to install OSX (with a few boot flags) and it succeeds and reboots. After reboot, it starts to boot into OSX, but hangs at Controller will be unloaded across sleep. Could it be that im installing to a usb external 2tb hdd? If anyone knows how to fix this issue, please respond.
16. Hi guys Im new here and I have a problem, I have been using os x 10.6.3 to 7 with no problems, I upgraded to 10.6.8 and got my netbook working fine.... Kernel, Wifi, Ethernet, USB and card reader (Acer Aspire ZG5, Intel ATOM) but my one problem is booting up from the hard drive. When I boot from hard drive it simply stops at the desktop image.... as in it boots into osx but from I can see my Desktop image I can move the pointer but nothing else happens. No menu, no Keyboard Commands or anything...and it just hangs there forever. but when I use the USB boot it works fine.....regardless of which bootloader I use.... any Ideas? here is a screen shot of the system booted up with the USB drive and one when it boots from hard drive....

18. Hi Guys. So im running Mountain Lion 10.8.2, with Chameleon Bootloader. Everything was great, until I got new hardware. I switched from: Mainboard: Asrock z68 GPU: Geforce 560ti to Mainboard: Asrock z77 Fatal1ty GPU: Geforce 660ti And now I cant boot my system anymore Im getting this error when booting in Verbose mode. Can anyone help me out?
19. Hi, I have been unable to boot into my Hackintosh. First, I had a boot loop at Darwin (brief flash of apple logo before rebooting), but I could get in using a stick with Chimera on it. Then, I noticed when I tried with the hard drive I got the boot0 error, so I followed the guide online involving moving a file to the boot volume. Nothing worked. I wonder if there is a way to just reload the bootloader, overwriting some of the old stuff, but preserving the data. I originally used Tony but not sure if that was best choice...i could reload it with unib. but i'm afraid it will overwrite everything and my data will be lost. thanks a lot..
20. Hi All, I've currently got Yosemite chugging along nicely, and want to get Windows 7 installed on a separate drive for gaming. I've got this setup currently, but want to change my windows install from an HDD to an SSD. Firstly, my setup: First my hardware: Gigabyte Z-87N-WIFI Intel 45670K Asus GTX 760 Corsair 1600 2x4GB Corsair 430w CMX PSU BX100 250GB SSD - OS X install drive WD 1TB HDD - 700GB HFS+ partition, 300GB NTFS Windows install partition M4 Crucial 128GB SSD - Where I want to run Windows in the future. Fractal Node 304 Case OS X Version: 10.10.2 Firstly, in my current setup I have an odd issue - I can see the Windows install from the Clover bootloader screen, but when I select it I get a blinking black cursor. However, by exiting Clover my machine automatically defaults to the Windows partition and so loads normally. This has been fine up until now. The first thing I tried to do is clone the partition directly. Even though it is 300GB compared to the SSD's 128GB, only 70GB is in use. I used EaseUS to do this, and the process seemed to go fine, however I can't get it the drive to boot. The drive shows up in Clover, but neither selecting it or exiting clover gives the desired effect. Exiting gives me a 'Please insert bootable media' message, whereas selecting the drive gives the same flashing cursor as before. So my question is two fold: Firstly, is there anything else I can do to try and clone my existing windows install to the new drive? I have tried to shrink the partition in diskmgmt.msc, but can't get it down to 128GB (despite being only 70GB). Is there any other software which is worth looking at? Secondly, if I install a fresh copy of Windows & thusly, am I going to screw up my clover install at all? Steps: 1. Disconnect all drives apart from 128GB SSD 2. Disable UEFI in bios. 3. Boot Windows 7 via USB and install as normal to SSD. 4. Re-connect all drives, hopefully get everything working. Sorry for the massive post, i'd really value any advice.

Boot/Shutdown problem

Hello everyone, This is two days I am facing a problem I can not solve . It makes me completely crazy, that's why I implore you for your help. I have a desktop computer that I use for hackintoshing since 2008, I went through all versions of OS X Leopard and since I never had any worries. After all installed (5 or 6 times) , I 've realized that when I turn off the pc I (  > shutdown ) , thereafter it is impossible to restart OS X. The screen remains frozen AFTER boot: init6 with an fixed " underscore ". The only thing is when I can do is to start on my hard drive where Vista is installed (I'll even display password ) and then restart on my hard drive or is OS X, and there is no problem starting ... For cons , I can restart (  > restart ) , sleep or wake up without any problems. I 'm reinstall , change some options, nothing works arghhhh I took screenshots of my console, my Clover configuration and kexts used below. Note: Kexts are too in S/L/E I now have to go, I'll be right on time. Thank you in advance. clover_config_1.tiff clover_config_2.tiff clover_config_3.tiff clover_config_4.tiff clover_config_5.tiff console_log_1.tiff console_log_2.tiff console_log_3.tiff console_log_4.tiff console_log_5.tiff console_log_6.tiff console_log_7.tiff kexts_efi_sle_part.tiff

25. Hey guys. I've been having some trouble getting clover to boot the El Capitan installer from my USB. Now despite the views of TonyMac on this forum, I'll just disclose that I was following this guide written by him to get myself going. http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capitan-desktop-guides/172672-#####-install-os-x-el-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html If someone has a better or preferred set of instructions, please do send them my way. Basically, when I attempt to boot the installer, the picture attached shows the results. Not too sure about the boot flags I should be using with clover, but I'll attach my specs to hopefully help you help me. CPU: Intel i5-4690k MoBo: MSI H97 Gaming 3 GPU: MSI R9 390x HDD: Sandisk 128GB SSD Thanks much. P.S Trying to boot with -x just adds Safe Boot Enabled to the bottom of the pictured results. Still the hangup, though.
