  2. Hello My wife's early 2009 Snow Leopard iMac has started failing to boot properly and I'm looking for some troubleshooting tips. Booting from cold, it gets past the logon screen and starts loading the desktop. It's quite slow at this point, but does load all the (hundreds of!) icons on the desktop. It also tries to re-open Firefox which had a lot of tabs open. Initially it would load a Firefox window but not complete loading the internals. On one boot I think I managed to close Firefox and now it still tries to load but just displays "Firefox" in the title bar with no windows. I can initially access a few menus, spotlight, Finder, the dock, but any further action results in a beach ball for these, and they can't be accessed again. I was able to navigate Finder to try to launch Terminal but just it just gave me the beach ball. I've left it like this for about half an hour but it doesn't get any further and I have to force shutdown (long press of power button). I tried booting to safe mode (holding down S on startup) but the end result was the same. I've been able to boot to a live ubuntu USB disk and can access files on the hard disk, so I've started a backup. We have a time machine backup but it's not that recent. I'm hoping it's just a corrupt file, but suspect it's the hard disk starting to fail. What's the best way to troubleshoot this? Thanks
Not Found ecc... start_image() returned Not Found). E' possibile riavviare High-Sierra già installato (partizione APFS), in un qualche modo?
  4. First, system specs: Abit IP35 Pro MB Core2Quad Q6600 CPU Geforce 8400GS 256MB GPU Corsair Dominator 4GB DDR 1066 RAM (4x1GB sticks) 320GB WD Blue Hard Drive MacAlly Keyboard MacAlly Mouse Initially followed the install process from (the site that shall not be named) to get Snow Leopard installed, then used another tool from same site to upgrade to El Capitan. In the process, boot manager was changed from Chameleon to Clover. When Clover gets past init(6), the boot process halts and the num lock/power lights start blinking on my USB keyboard. Unplugging said keyboard allows Clover to complete boot. Luckily, I still have a PS2 keyboard which works with Clover (it now stays plugged in at the same time as the USB keyboard). When I had Snow Leopard installed, it didn't do this, so I'm assuming it's a Clover problem. I've tried: - Plugging keyboard into all USB ports (both with and without the PS2 keyboard plugged in) - Changing BIOS Keyboard settings to both "OS" and "BIOS". - Updating Clover to latest version and installing UsbKbDxe-64 driver. I tried searching for a DSDT, but only found one for the non-Pro IP35. Other Google searching has fixes for UEFI booting systems and different MacOS versions, but nothing that applies to this MB. Thoughts?
  5. BEFORE TRYING THIS, DO THE OBVIOUS SOLUTION! REPLACE YOUR OPTIOFIX EFI FILE WITH VERSION 2, OR WITH VERSION 1. ONLY PROCEED IF DOING THIS DOES NOT WORK. Alright, so my first attempt at helping people that isn’t in a private discord. Hope this goes well. No one has posted this as a direct solution to someone asking for help with this error, so I thought I’d be the one to share it.

I encountered this problem when I rebooted after making some minor changes and discovered I couldn’t boot back into the disk. All over the web, people keep suggesting clover-side tweaks and replacing kexts, and while they may solve the problem for some, absolutely nothing was working for me (and a few others), even when booting with no kernel cache at all. No boot flags worked, no .efi files would solve it.

Holding spacebar in clover, no change. So, the solution ended up being system side, and not clover related. You needed to delete your prelinked kernel from the HDD and rebuild it.

To do this, you just have to be able to get to your recovery drive or use an install USB that’ll give you access to the disk. Clover got me into my recovery drive just fine, another hint that it wasn’t related to clover - but regardless, whatever works for you. After you’re in a terminal, type the following commands.

Df -h This will list all of your volumes, make sure you’re targeting your installation drive.

If your volume has a space in the name, such as "Mac OS HS", you'll need to format it as such: "Mac\ OS\ HS" - This is simply how the command line associates spaces. touch /Volumes/[NAME HERE]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[NAME HERE]

In my case, I replaced [NAME HERE] with my installation drive - "macOS\ 10.13". Chances are, this command will give you the error "Child process [directory] has exited due to signal 10" The line immediately after that will give you another bit of extremely important information that you need to take note of. "Error 107 rebuilding /System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel" That directory is what we're going to be targeting to fix our system. So, time to nuke it. rm -rf [location to /prelinkedkernel/prelinkedkernel] MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK IT IS EXACTLY WHAT WAS OUTPUT WHEN YOU TRIED THE COMMAND ABOVE.

IMPORTANT: YOU MAY RECEIVE A READ ONLY ERROR! DO NOT PANIC. I've done this on multiple machines and it really is hit or miss whether or not this will appear. Regardless, the solution is simple. The following code tag only applies to if you encounter this issue. Fsck mount -uw / RE-ENTER THE FOLLOWING COMMAND! You need a more specific location now. rm -rf /Volumes/[NAME]/System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel touch /Volumes/[NAME]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[Name] Now you should be receiving "/Volumes/[NAME] locked; waiting for lock." This is a good thing. Wait a few seconds, you'll receive "Lock acquired; proceeding." After that, you'll be back at -bash-3.2#, and it will appear as if nothing happened. Again, this is expected. For people who didn't have to use the Fsck command, simply type the following and receive the usual "Waiting for lock; Lock received" response. touch /Volumes/[NAMEHERE]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[NAME HERE] Now, use your up arrow on the keyboard to re-enter this command. If nothing happens, you're golden. If it detects kexts with invalid signatures, that's still okay - but for future reference, don't go the ##### approach/philosophy of installing kexts to your system drive. Take this as a warning. Go ahead and reboot, and start your installation just like normal. You'll now get past the 0x1 error. Congratulations! If you get hung up anywhere, go back to clover and add “-f” to the boot flags, then boot again. You should make it back to your desktop with no damage whatsoever.

Like nothing ever happened! Now, as for what causes this, I honestly have no idea. All I know is when you have a working system, make some kind of modication/tweak/installation that HS doesn't agree with, you can possibly get this error on some systems. It's rare, but exists, and unfortunately this is the only way I've been able to get past it. It's not too much work, so don't be too intimidated. You'll have your system back in no time. If you'd like some personalized 1-on-1 support, read my signature and contact me that way. I'm more than happy to help, or at the very least take some time out of my day to analyze your issue and give my thoughts. Thanks for reading my first guide, I'm hoping to publish some more fixes to make High Sierra as painless as possible for every user.
  6. Good afternoon. I would like to ask about my iron. Will Mac OS X go to it? amd athlon(tm) ii x2 245 Nvidia GeForce GT 630 If so, can you give a link to the iso file? Thx ♥
  7. Hello, i installed Os X El Capitan on this pc : Dell Optiplex 3020, I3 4130, 6Gb RAM and a GT 220. Everything installed without problem (just usb injection needed). But now i want to update to sierra and/or high sierra . I downloaded the installer for both of them (5Gb each) on my hackintosh and tried to install the Os but when rebooting the boot loader don’t propose to boot onto install disk. El Capitan come from my old iMac (genuine system) and it can’t be update to newer Os. I would like to know if anybody have a solution to upgrade from El Capitan to a newer version of the Apple system. Thanks
  8. hi there, when attempting install 10.10 to my old PC, it reboots everytime when attached pic shows up. my hardware is: mb - unika p35 (with ich9) 775pin cpu - intel xeon x3210 video card - nv geforce 8600gt could anybody know what was wrong? or is it possibly because of the video card, or the powermanagement? thank you so much for help!
  9. In this video I first show the boot time of my system running on an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD APFS formatted and with TRIM enabled. As you can see the boot has a long pause at these "FIPSPOST_USER" stuff. The solution that always worked for me is to create a time machine backup and restore to disk. As you can see after the restoring that long pause is drastically reduced. The initial boot time is 45 seconds circa, after restoring is down to 22 seconds. TRIM is still enabled and disk is APFS.

  11. Hi guys. Sometimes I am a complete noob, so I deleted two kexts from S/L/E and now my Asus Q200E laptop with OS X El Capitan boot hangs on kernel panic. I still can enter go through Clover to reach Recovery Mode and use Terminal, so I've put the two kexts on a USB pendrive and after some struggle I've managed to succefully copy them using Terminal, but the boot is still stuck on kernel panic. As I remember, these are the commands I've typed: mount -rw cp -a /Volumes/usb-stick/name.kext /Volumes/my-osx-drive/System/Library/Extensions Is there anything else I should do? Is anything wrong? Should I type some command else? For instance, should I type something to fix permissions and rebuild cache? Thanks a lot!
  12. Hi, i have a little old mobo with socket 1156 no Sata 3 - biostar tpower i55 and i Was wondering if i had some chance to install a new nvme memory like Intel 760p. Due lack of support by my mobo i found a Pci Express card lycom dt-120 to expand my connectivity. After some researches i understood that i need a ‘bios support for the boot from nvme disk’. I want some of these nvme memory to install high Sierra and get a killer desktop. I think that i haven’t obviously a native bios support cause my mobo is pretty old, so i can’t get an nvme disk and install properly high Sierra hoping that boot? Or should i catch anyway? I Guess that same problem is for w10? Thanks, Gabriele.
  13. edit- first gen i7 860 12 gig ddr3 ram, asus p7h55m board, intel H55 chipset, asus gt 640 2gig card ---- Hello and good day. I have never had this much problems with hackintoshes. I am working on my third hack. I was having boot problems, trying different flags, getting in, but never really fixing or setting up proper backups. I have many hhd's, a ssd as well. I have two usb sticks made mostly from #####. My ##### did not want to see my hdd (the installer) Anyhow, currently I have 10.13 installed onto my external drive. Used a niresh build, because i'm pulling hair. But even that does not see my HDDs or SSD. I'm guessing it is a clover or kext issue or driver, but I don't know anymore. Everything I do makes another problem. Anyhow, I have a fresh install (Actually I have 3 or 4 installs. My old one on SSD, another install on seperate HDD, and another fresh one. As far as I can tell the nvidia web drivers giving me issues, but I cannot get recovery to work to remove the kexts (as far as I can understand) On my external drive, it was giving me a problem. I was talking on the phone while the post-install screen was waiting, and than the system rebooted. I needed to boot in single user to delete the file that says the hack was setup, because when i restarted it just brought me to a blank login. Anyhow, I have work i need to do. I'm laughing though, I have never had problem after problem. I need to learn more. And everything is booting so slow. Just my HDD's and SSD and external drive. I know my clover installs and EFI partitions are too much, messed up config. I want to just wipe all the EFI's and just start fresh, but I do not know how? I guess linux boot disc maybe? Just delete the EFI's except one and only work on that? UGH Any tips or walk through just to start fresh. Thank you for reading
  14. I updated normally to 10.3.3. Rebooted and no sound was working as always after update, so I run toledas script one more time to enable audio. But after that, I got stuck on boot after initializing en1 like in picture Any ideas how to fix this?
  15. Hello everyone, I've finally managed to install Windows 10 in the same HDD as macOS Sierra, the problem is that my laptop boots directly into Windows, it won't let me go to clover. However, if I boot from my installation usb i can boot into clover and choose Windows or Sierra. I have already tried to reinstall Clover but it will keep booting into Windows. I have also tried to rename bootmgfw.efi to bootmgfw-orig.efi and copy the clover efi into the Windows efi folder and renaming as bootmgfw.efi. It will only work until I boot Windows, next time it will boot into Windows directly again. Please help
  16. Hello everyone. I have been trying to install os x Mavericks for a long time, but it gives me lot of problems so I came here to see if I could fix it somehow. Well, first of all I will give some information about the computer I'm trying to install it on: It's an Asus with uefi, EZ mode, 2001 version. Motherboard: A88XM-A CPU: AMD A4-6300 Dual core, 3,69 Ghz Internet: Realtek 8111G Sound: Realtek ALC887-VD Graphics: Integrated AMD Radeon HD graphics First, I tried with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url], but it turned off as soon as it entered the apple logo screen. Then, I tried with Niresh. It installed, but the graphics were laggy and the internet, the sound, and well the graphics in general weren't working. I tried to install the kexts but didn't find them or either didn't know how to install them. And in addition, it gave me the boot 0 error. And now is when the real problem comes, I have tried using myhack. I have done all the proccess correctly, and now in the guide i've been following it says I have to replace the mach_kernel for a downloaded one that works for amd and mavericks. I have downloaded the os x mavericks installer from the Appstore but I belive it is the 10.9.5 version of it. Anyway, in case it was the 10.9.4 when I replace the kernel and rename it, after have intalled os x on the computer with amd, I then copied using the installer and the terminal, and removed the kernel from the hard disk, and then copied the one that works for it. Well, when I try to turn it on it suddenly turns off. I put it in verbose mode to see wheres the problem and it says: "Can't find mach_kernel" I have copied the commands and such correctly, and the names of the hard drive and USB too. I really don't know what to do. Thanks in advice, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. If I break any forum rules please tell me and I will fix it, thanks again and greetings.
  17. Hey guys. I've been having some trouble getting clover to boot the El Capitan installer from my USB. Now despite the views of TonyMac on this forum, I'll just disclose that I was following this guide written by him to get myself going. http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capitan-desktop-guides/172672-[url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]-install-os-x-el-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html If someone has a better or preferred set of instructions, please do send them my way. Basically, when I attempt to boot the installer, the picture attached shows the results. Not too sure about the boot flags I should be using with clover, but I'll attach my specs to hopefully help you help me. CPU: Intel i5-4690k MoBo: MSI H97 Gaming 3 GPU: MSI R9 390x HDD: Sandisk 128GB SSD Thanks much. P.S Trying to boot with -x just adds Safe Boot Enabled to the bottom of the pictured results. Still the hangup, though.
  18. I had successfully installed the os x yosemitte 10.10.3, it was not so complicated as the el capitan... after so many times attempt, i am totally annoyed with os x el capitan 10.11. The clover kept rebooting after boot (verbose mode) the bootable usb os x installation, i have tried clover 3280, 3292 and 3320. Also, have tried different version of the drivers under [Driver64UEFI]. my question is, what would cause the reboot loop (after verbose boot the os x installation)? and if there is a minimum clover configuration for sucessfully boot and install? the error is "OsxAptioFixDrv: Starting overrides for .IABootFiles\boot.efi", then it reboots. p.s., the laptop's spec. is below: cpu - i3 3110 ivy bridge mem - 4g graphics - intel hd4000 hd - kingston ssd 256
  19. Hello guys. I am setting up my first Hackintosh. Here are the specs: Mobo: Adlink M-342 with AMI Aptio 4 UEFI Intel i3 2120 SandyBridge 4GB RAM 500 GB SeaGate HDD So, here's the issue. The first part of the installation process works perfectly. At the end of the process, I am asked to perform a restart. I do that, it boots back to Clover. I select the HFS partition where I installed OSx, it loads for a while and then the screen goes blank. The only way I found so far to be able to boot to OSx is to set a FakeID in Clover's Graphics Injection menu. The only FakeID that works is this one: 0x041680862 Which is not even a real FakeID. There is no other way, at the moment, to boot to OSx but this one, which is far from a perfect solution (the screen flickers every now and then and I cannot select resolutions different from 1024x768). I really need help on this. HD4600 is known to be fully compatible with OSx, so nobody else has ever had this issue before (apparently). Thanks for your help.
  20. Hi guys, crazy problem. so, i can boot from NVME. but not if Thunderbolt card is plugged in. screen just goes black when apple logo would normally show up, then desktop. it just stops. I can boot from normal SSD, and be able to mount the NVME (non-booting), and use Thunderbolt, but i want to be able to boot from the NVME and use Thunderbolt. I've tried putting the Thunderbolt card in different slots, and that hasn't been helping so far. Might there be any Clover flags perhaps, that could fix this? or any other solution? Donation for working solution! my config: 5960X X99-A Yosemite Clover ThunderboltEX II Samsung 950 Pro NVME SSD
  21. Greetings, I had a fully working 10.11 installation via Clover on an SSD along with Windows 8.1 (dual boot). Today I was having many issues with Win (nothing unusual, sod it!) so I decided to install Win10 on another SSD and because of yet another plethora of Windows-related problems, I had to unplug my main drive (the one with OS X and Clover on it) from the motherboard to make the installer work. When I re-attached it, Clover did not show up. I figured it might be due to changed boot order but there is no UEFI option in the boot menu either (it's usually something like UEFI: P1 Samsung PRO 512GB, now it's without the UEFI bit). The partitions are intact and I can still boot into Windows, yet when I try to boot from the OS X partition, it does not work (normal black screen, insert media, press any key). I did not change any UEFI /“BIOS”/ settings, swap the SATA port, or make any alterations to the drive whatsoever. As my next step, I installed Clover on a USB drive and successfully booted into the main OS X partition on the SSD through it. I successfully mounted the EFI partition and confirmed that all files on it are intact. I then re-installed Clover to the OS X partition (the installer considered it an upgrade), but to no avail—nothing has changed after a reboot. Now I'm sitting here and wondering what could have caused this and how to fix it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find another person with the same problem so far. Any help will be appreciated. Cheers! For what it's worth, the board is a GA Z97X Gaming 7 and here's a part of the Clover install log: Clover EFI installer log - Sun Oct 9 21:17:51 CEST 2016 Installer version: v2.3k r3793 EFI bootloader ====================================================== /dev/disk0 (internal, physical): #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *512.1 GB disk0 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_HFS OSX 255.5 GB disk0s2 3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s3 4: Microsoft Reserved 134.2 MB disk0s4 5: Microsoft Basic Data 255.6 GB disk0s5

  23. I have a working 10.12.6 Sierra installation on my HP Spectre x360 w023dx. If I boot without the fast mode enabled in clover configurator, I get the kernel panic attached below. It works fine with "fast" mode on, but I have windows installed and would like to be able to boot both OS's from clover. Booting without fast mode enabled on any device besides my hdd works fine too. My clover folder is attached below as well. Thanks in advance. CLOVER.zip
  24. Disk Warrior shot up a hardware error ("5, 1502" whatever that means) with my boot drive yesterday and now I'm wondering, in the process of replacing this drive (because hardware failure will be complete failure with hard drives), if there's a way to create a bootable installer thumb drive with NVIDIA's WebDrivers so I can actually see a screen. Also, I'm hoping that after a clean installation I can use my Time Machine backups to get my system back to where it was? TIA for your patience.
