  1. BEFORE TRYING THIS, DO THE OBVIOUS SOLUTION! REPLACE YOUR OPTIOFIX EFI FILE WITH VERSION 2, OR WITH VERSION 1. ONLY PROCEED IF DOING THIS DOES NOT WORK. Alright, so my first attempt at helping people that isn’t in a private discord. Hope this goes well. No one has posted this as a direct solution to someone asking for help with this error, so I thought I’d be the one to share it.

I encountered this problem when I rebooted after making some minor changes and discovered I couldn’t boot back into the disk. All over the web, people keep suggesting clover-side tweaks and replacing kexts, and while they may solve the problem for some, absolutely nothing was working for me (and a few others), even when booting with no kernel cache at all. No boot flags worked, no .efi files would solve it.

Holding spacebar in clover, no change. So, the solution ended up being system side, and not clover related. You needed to delete your prelinked kernel from the HDD and rebuild it.

To do this, you just have to be able to get to your recovery drive or use an install USB that’ll give you access to the disk. Clover got me into my recovery drive just fine, another hint that it wasn’t related to clover - but regardless, whatever works for you. After you’re in a terminal, type the following commands.

Df -h This will list all of your volumes, make sure you’re targeting your installation drive.

If your volume has a space in the name, such as "Mac OS HS", you'll need to format it as such: "Mac\ OS\ HS" - This is simply how the command line associates spaces. touch /Volumes/[NAME HERE]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[NAME HERE]

In my case, I replaced [NAME HERE] with my installation drive - "macOS\ 10.13". Chances are, this command will give you the error "Child process [directory] has exited due to signal 10" The line immediately after that will give you another bit of extremely important information that you need to take note of. "Error 107 rebuilding /System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel" That directory is what we're going to be targeting to fix our system. So, time to nuke it. rm -rf [location to /prelinkedkernel/prelinkedkernel] MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK IT IS EXACTLY WHAT WAS OUTPUT WHEN YOU TRIED THE COMMAND ABOVE.

IMPORTANT: YOU MAY RECEIVE A READ ONLY ERROR! DO NOT PANIC. I've done this on multiple machines and it really is hit or miss whether or not this will appear. Regardless, the solution is simple. The following code tag only applies to if you encounter this issue. Fsck mount -uw / RE-ENTER THE FOLLOWING COMMAND! You need a more specific location now. rm -rf /Volumes/[NAME]/System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel touch /Volumes/[NAME]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[Name] Now you should be receiving "/Volumes/[NAME] locked; waiting for lock." This is a good thing. Wait a few seconds, you'll receive "Lock acquired; proceeding." After that, you'll be back at -bash-3.2#, and it will appear as if nothing happened. Again, this is expected. For people who didn't have to use the Fsck command, simply type the following and receive the usual "Waiting for lock; Lock received" response. touch /Volumes/[NAMEHERE]/System/Library/Extensions && kextcache -u /Volumes/[NAME HERE] Now, use your up arrow on the keyboard to re-enter this command. If nothing happens, you're golden. If it detects kexts with invalid signatures, that's still okay - but for future reference, don't go the ##### approach/philosophy of installing kexts to your system drive. Take this as a warning. Go ahead and reboot, and start your installation just like normal. You'll now get past the 0x1 error. Congratulations! If you get hung up anywhere, go back to clover and add “-f” to the boot flags, then boot again. You should make it back to your desktop with no damage whatsoever.

Like nothing ever happened! Now, as for what causes this, I honestly have no idea. All I know is when you have a working system, make some kind of modication/tweak/installation that HS doesn't agree with, you can possibly get this error on some systems. It's rare, but exists, and unfortunately this is the only way I've been able to get past it. It's not too much work, so don't be too intimidated. You'll have your system back in no time. If you'd like some personalized 1-on-1 support, read my signature and contact me that way. I'm more than happy to help, or at the very least take some time out of my day to analyze your issue and give my thoughts. Thanks for reading my first guide, I'm hoping to publish some more fixes to make High Sierra as painless as possible for every user.

    Clover USB Won't Boot

First post, thank you all for any help offered. I am coming from a certain commercialized hackintosh community - after seeing such amazing vanilla installs and reading of the talent here, I decided to have a go at not using such software methods. And I immediately got myself into a predicament BACKSTORY I successfully upgraded from Mavericks to Mojave 10.14.2 but decided to start over and do a clean install because my Vega Frontier was not playing OOB even with Lilu & whatevergreen - and there was a lot of 'code junk' Clover barfed at boot from this 'commercialized software'. SUCCESS I created Mojave USB installer from scratch using the latest Clover, it worked fine, got me to the Mojave install screen. PROBLEM For reasons unknown to me, I decided for one last ditch effort to see if I could get my already installed Mojave playing nicer - instead of starting over clean. So I installed the latest Clover on my Mojave SSD, (it had a Clover version YEARS ago when I last installed Mavericks) and I replaced the EFI file with the kexts and config of my USB EFI file because I figured, since the USB installer launched, it was all good to go. Now nothing boots after BIOS. Not my Mavericks drive, Mojave SSD, nor my USB Mojave Installer. They all hang right where Clover usually launches. I look at my USB lights and nothing flashes... The only drive I can use is Windows 8.1 (my testing environment) and not from Clover. That's just booting windows up without any HD's plugged in. Is there a way to rescue my predicament? I don't have another Mac computer and CloverConfig only runs on Mac. Is there a way to fix the USB from Windows? Thanks! 4. How to directly boot into specific volume, for me MACOS,Just like clover DefaultVolume. Thanks EFI: https://github.com/dhb52/z370-opencore BTW, another question. I use Clover install on ssd along with macOS installed. And I use a GUID partitioned HHD for TimeMachine backup, which I have my OC EFI installed to boot the same `macOS`. by comparing usage of both booters, it seems that when using OC, my Win7(Paralled Desktop 14 vm) uses more memory, by opening Task Manager.

    Boot/Shutdown problem

Hello everyone, This is two days I am facing a problem I can not solve . It makes me completely crazy, that's why I implore you for your help. I have a desktop computer that I use for hackintoshing since 2008, I went through all versions of OS X Leopard and since I never had any worries. After all installed (5 or 6 times) , I 've realized that when I turn off the pc I (  > shutdown ) , thereafter it is impossible to restart OS X. The screen remains frozen AFTER boot: init6 with an fixed " underscore ". The only thing is when I can do is to start on my hard drive where Vista is installed (I'll even display password ) and then restart on my hard drive or is OS X, and there is no problem starting ... For cons , I can restart (  > restart ) , sleep or wake up without any problems. I 'm reinstall , change some options, nothing works arghhhh I took screenshots of my console, my Clover configuration and kexts used below. Note: Kexts are too in S/L/E I now have to go, I'll be right on time. Thank you in advance. clover_config_1.tiff clover_config_2.tiff clover_config_3.tiff clover_config_4.tiff clover_config_5.tiff console_log_1.tiff console_log_2.tiff console_log_3.tiff console_log_4.tiff console_log_5.tiff console_log_6.tiff console_log_7.tiff kexts_efi_sle_part.tiff

    Mountain Lion su P8Z68-V Pro

  10. Hey everyone, first time posting, so let's see how this goes. I created my first clover hack on r3079, and everything has been working. I then fixed iMessage, then decided to update to r3094, and now r3113. This is when things get weird. Ever since these updates, whenever I boot my machine, I now am occasionally able to boot into Yosemite fine, but most of the time I have to press the space bar and select "Boot OS X without caches" or the system hangs at halfway through the loading bar. Is there anywhere to forgo this? I've tried rebuilding my caches multiple times, and nothing seems to be working. On top of this, sometimes when I shutdown, my desktop doesn't actually shut down and reboots itself, and I get an error message when OS X boots saying there was a problem with shutting down and the system restarted itself. Can anyone help with this? Additional Info: In my BIOS I have all of the lower Advanced CPU settings disabled, such as EIST and C-States for stability of my overclock. config.plist.zip

  13. Hello guys, I've got this laptop here, which works quite nice, especially since I've installed Windows 8 (RP) on it. But since I've always wanted to try Hackintosh on a laptop I decided to do it. Downloaded iAtkos L2, burned it on a DVD. Tested it, went straight to HDD boot after having set DVD boot as 1st prio. Then I disabled all other boot priorities but DVD. The screen appeared to turn on and off continuously. I let it do that for a while till I just stopped it. I think the whole laptop was restarting, because the bios procedure is really fast when you restart or stay on the same OS, regardless of OS I'm using (W7/W8), so I imagine some problem with drivers? Anything you guys know about? I've searched all over for anyone having the same issue. Thanks in advance. Something keeps chrashing, but I'm also trying to say my desktop can boot from the disk and the laptop did boot from W7 and W8 disks and usb.

  22. Hey guys, I succesfully installed Snow Leopard. After a BIOS-update I was able to install Snow Leopard using I Boot and the PCIRootUID=1 command. But... I still need to boot it with I Boot and the PCIRootUID command. When I tried to install [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] it showed up an error. And now I got Chameleon up and running, but it doesnt work. It even stops the computer booting an installation on USB or DVD! I guess the error is somewhere in Chameleon or my DSDT but I'm not sure. There was a time i saw the verbose saying something about DSDT or something, but i don't know what exactly and what command i tried to show that. Can anybody help me? I will show a picture of the booting error when i use the command PCIRootUID=1 -v when im booting from the installed Chameleon. 23. Hi! I just want to share with you my "solution" for my boot screen. I think many of us having the bootscreen like this: with that two bold black area on both side My display native resolution is 1920x1080 but I couldn't get that resolution for boot screen. So I simply found out what resolution I have by checking it in my monitor/display osd menu while osx was on the boot screen (for me it is: 1600x1200). When I found out what resolution I have on the boot screen, I did this: I went to /Extra/Themes/Default/ folder, and opened the theme.plist file. Changed boot_height and screen_height to 1200 Changed boot_width and screen_width to 1600 Saved the changes to the theme.plist file. Then I made an 1600x1200 size image in photoshop (you can use gimp or something else), filled it with black, and put a nice apple logo to the middle, then saved1 it as boot.png. Backed up /Extra/Themes/Default/boot.png file. Replaced /Extra/Themes/Default/boot.png with my 1600x1200 size boot.png file. Rebooted. (Green is your horizontal, Blue is your vertical resolution on the boot screen.) 1: Try to make the png as small (filesize) as you can (for better loading speed). I used multiple online png crush/compress tools to achieve this (google for "online png crush" or "online png compress"). Now I have a nice iOS-like boot screen: I'm using this since I'm using a hackintosh (1,5years). Notes: - make sure you don't have "Legacy Logo=Yes" in boot.plist. - with the big boot.png, you can't see the spinning wheel (like in iOS)
  24. Greetings, I had a fully working 10.11 installation via Clover on an SSD along with Windows 8.1 (dual boot). Today I was having many issues with Win (nothing unusual, sod it!) so I decided to install Win10 on another SSD and because of yet another plethora of Windows-related problems, I had to unplug my main drive (the one with OS X and Clover on it) from the motherboard to make the installer work. When I re-attached it, Clover did not show up. I figured it might be due to changed boot order but there is no UEFI option in the boot menu either (it's usually something like UEFI: P1 Samsung PRO 512GB, now it's without the UEFI bit). The partitions are intact and I can still boot into Windows, yet when I try to boot from the OS X partition, it does not work (normal black screen, insert media, press any key). I did not change any UEFI /“BIOS”/ settings, swap the SATA port, or make any alterations to the drive whatsoever. As my next step, I installed Clover on a USB drive and successfully booted into the main OS X partition on the SSD through it. I successfully mounted the EFI partition and confirmed that all files on it are intact. I then re-installed Clover to the OS X partition (the installer considered it an upgrade), but to no avail—nothing has changed after a reboot. Now I'm sitting here and wondering what could have caused this and how to fix it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find another person with the same problem so far. Any help will be appreciated. Cheers! For what it's worth, the board is a GA Z97X Gaming 7 and here's a part of the Clover install log: Clover EFI installer log - Sun Oct 9 21:17:51 CEST 2016 Installer version: v2.3k r3793 EFI bootloader ====================================================== /dev/disk0 (internal, physical): #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *512.1 GB disk0 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_HFS OSX 255.5 GB disk0s2 3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s3 4: Microsoft Reserved 134.2 MB disk0s4 5: Microsoft Basic Data 255.6 GB disk0s5
