1. Greetings! So I managed to get a Catalina 10.15 vm up and running in ESXi 6.7u2. When I try to install Catalina updates, however, it goes to the Apple logo, status bar moving ever so slightly, reboots again and this time hangs on the Apple logo. To fix this, I either remove or disable "Mac OS" as an option in the bootloader. Is there a way to get these updates to install? In the meantime... I instead of restarting Catalina after choosing to update it, I shutdown the guest. After a restart it SEEMED to update with the time duration countdown. Prior to this I did run disk utility and checked Untitled and Untitled-Data for errors (I don't think it found any). So I just logged back onto the VM and the version is still 10.15 and NOT 10.15.2 as hoped. So weird. Any ideas?
2. Hi, I have a Pc with an AMD FX-4100, 8 Gigs of Ram, and a radeon 6870 2gb. I used Nawcom's Mod CD to install OSX (with a few boot flags) and it succeeds and reboots. After reboot, it starts to boot into OSX, but hangs at Controller will be unloaded across sleep. Could it be that im installing to a usb external 2tb hdd? If anyone knows how to fix this issue, please respond.
3. Every time I try to install clover on my hard drive or change files in the EFI partition, bios hangs after restart- the screen stays on but is all black. Here is the scenario: I am currently running Yosemite beta 6 with clover, no problems. I wanted to install the final Yosemite release on a second hard drive to backup stuff before I migrate my main drive over. I have done this many times before without issue. Now out of the blue, when I install Yosemite on the new drive followed by installing clover, my computer will hang at bios. Here is what I know- The hdd's are good and work fine. I have tried 3 different known working drives with different sata cables and different sata ports on the mobo, and the problem exists across all of them. The drives work fine and have no problem up until I try to install or change files on the EFI partition. I have installed OS X and clover on 2 of these drives in the past with no problems. After installing clover or copying files to the EFI partition, and restart the computer, bios hangs right as it should be looking for sata drives to boot from. I never get to a list of drives and I can't even go into bios settings as my pc just hangs right after the bios logo appears. The only way to get out of this is to physically unplug my hdd from the sata port. Then the computer will boot up like normal, no problems. If I then power down and plug the drive back in, bios hangs again. I found that hooking the drive up to usb after boot allows me to access it. When I plug the drive in with usb, both Windows and OS X see the drive as corrupted and needing to be formatted. If I format the drive, all appears fine and the drive works no problem, up until I mess with the EFI partition at which point bios hangs. Like I said, i currently have a working Yosemite b6 drive that works fine, but I am scared that if I do any changes to the bootloader, it will get screwed up too. Right now I am kind of in limbo and am clueless as to whats going on. My computer has never had issues like this, so I am hoping it isn't a motherboard issue because I don't want to buy new parts at this point. Help would be much appreciated! My specs- gigabyte z77x-up5-th, i7 3770k, 16 gb ram, gtx 670.
4. I have Dell E5430 running Mac OS 10.12.3. Everytime, faceebook message came or any video played it hangs whole mac. Other browsers are working fine. This issue starts after Mac OS 10.11.5 update. But, I clean install after that. But, problem remain same. I also found same issue with people having intel hd 4400 and intel hd 4600. But, no one is having it with intel hd 4000. So, please guide me. - Thank you
5. I have been tying to install OS X in VMware for the past few days, but every combiation of things I have tried, results in the installer hanging at the very last two minutes. An example of the installer log can be seen in the attached picture. My host system specifications are: Ubuntu 14.04 Linux Vmware 11.1.2 (used unlocker tool) Hardware: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core Processor Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 990FXA-UD3 16 GB of RAM NVIDIA Corporation GF119 [GeForce GT 520] (rev a1) Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) (rev 40) I would really appreciate any sort of assistance. I am just trying to learn OS X for educational purposes to help imrove my skills, and I recognize that it would install much easier with an Intel system, but I don't have one of those around me at the moment. So hopefully, if someone can assist with this, that would be nice.

Sapphire 6870HD random freezing

I recently upgraded my Sapphire 5770HD to a Sapphire 6870HD. Based on many readers feedback and several OSX86 sites recommending the 6870HD I thought purchasing the card would be a safe bet. Overall I am quite happy with the performance (both in OS X and W7) with one exception... Periodically, and by that I have found no real "cause", the system will hang; the BG processes are still running (i.e. iTunes still plays, and files continue to d/l) but the desktop will freeze, only being able to move the mouse pointer. Sometimes the system freezes when opening a window, both Finder, and (launching) iApps, never by any 3rd party software (like WoW, Cinebench, PS3MS, or Vuze). My System specs are in my sig. Latest Cameleon v2.1svn r1730 bootloader Graphicsenabler=y AtiConfig=Duckweed bdmesg: ATI card POSTed, reading VBIOS from legacy space Framebuffer set to device's default: Duckweed Nr of ports set to framebuffer's default: 4 ATI Barts AMD Radeon HD 6870 Series 1024MB (Duckweed) [1002:6738] (subsys [174b:174b]):: PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) Any ideas how to remedy my problem? I have tried using AtiConfig=Bulrushes however that just causes the system to hang and crash on the grey screen before the desktop appears. I know a lot of you awesome folks out there are happily using a Sapphire 6870HD without issues. Any help would be much appreciated. Edit: removing GraphicsConfig=yes from my boot.plist solved the hang on grey screen using Bulrushes (blonde moment if ya think about it). Steam works and GB doesn't crash, DVD player does (who cares), Cinebench reports 2fps better, but SP reports card as 6xxx (expected). I will report back to see if the screen freezing is cured.
7. Hello all. I used to have a a mostly fully working Hackintosh system, but due to the mobo's lack of power management (even patched) I gave up on it, and I swapped out to a different one that's considered by the community to be more Hackintosh compatible and suchlike. Here are my new machine's specs: Motherboard: AsRock Z77 Pro 3 (I don't know what BIOS revision) CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k @ 4.4 GHz with water cooling RAM: 16 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz Storage: 1x 1.5TB, 1x 1 TB and 2x 2TB, 1x 120GB SSD for Linux GPU: Zotac nVidia GeForce GTX 460 Amp'd Edition 1GB GDDR5 I believe.. the card is from 2010 Two 1080p 24" Displays I was able to launch the installer and successfully install ML with both displays active but my issue is that I can't get the system to boot up natively unless in Safe Mode (boot flag -x), though I guess that isn't quite native. I know my GPU is older, but on the aforementioned other mobo (now being used in my other desktop system that serves as my HTPC, of which I'd like to reattempt to Hackintosh soon) I was able to get my it working just fine... I think I had to get its device ID or something and put into my chameleon.boot.plist? Would my best bet be to get a GTX 470 or higher? Is getting this older GPU working a waste of time and effort? I intend to use OS X as a dedicated video editing 'workstation' as I want to have it triple booting with Linux (running now) and Windows 7 or maybe I'll try Windows 8.1. I've read peoples' success stories who have my same board, but they flashed a patched BIOS. I'm weary of doing that since I bricked a previous board I had and I don't want that to happen again. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Intel HD 3000, freezes and lines

Hi. Configuration: HP ProBook 4530s: Intel Core-i5 2430m, Intel HD Graphics 3000, Crucial M4-CT128M4SSD2, 8GB RAM, Atheros AR9285, Realtek RTL8111/8168B SMBIOS: MBP8,1 Intel HD Graphics 3000: Device ID: 0x0116 Revision ID: 0x0009 VRAM: 512 MB (because of 8GB RAM). Problems: There are graphical problems: lines and hangs of everything on the screen but the mouse can move. Already found that it doesn't depend on software and if I'm using Snow Leopard, then everything is fine. If I'm using only one bar of 4GB RAM in Lion, then everything is fine, too. These issues are returned only in combination Lion + 8 GB RAM. I'm using the latest version of Chimera. Playing with the key "Graphics Enabler" does not help, but it is not needed because the card identified well without it. Using the latest beta build of the Lion shows that the same problems remained. I have confidence (perhaps due to the fact that no other versions), the problem is related to the frequency. I have a processor Intel Core-i5 2430m, where the parameter "Graphics Max Dynamic Frequency" is 1.2 GHz. Apple, in turn, uses 2415m and 2435m processors in MBP8,1. They set this parameter to 1.3 GHz. Laptop screen uses LVDS connection type, and here is my connection string from AppleIntelSNBGraphics.kext: 0503 0000 0200 0000 3000 0000 The first option means that it is LVDS, and the other two I do not know. Maybe one of them responsible for the frequency. Let me remind you that there are no problems in the Snow Leopard. I compared the ioreg of 10.6.8 with 10.7.2. Important difference is "NumFrameBuffer". In 10.7.2 it is "04" in 10.6.8 - "02". Maybe I need to have a closer look for some parameters? RevoGirl had the similar problem: http://revogirl.word...3000-artifacts/ The difference is that she corrected the DVI-connector. 0205 0000 0004 0000 0700 0000 to 0205 0000 0004 0000 0850 0000 But what is the 0700, 0850 ... is not clear. I can't ask her, as I can't find her contacts. Thank you for the attention.
9. Hi, I have a problem with my hackintosh. It sometimes stops using the USB port. As far as I understand.. after some time, there is no communication anymore with the USB devices after a certain time. I'm using 10.7.2 Here's my USB specs: Host Controller Location: Built-in USB interface Control File Host Controller: AppleUSBEHCI PCI device code: 0x1c26 PCI revision code: 0x0005 PCI Manufacturer Code: 0x8086 Bus number: 0x1d hub: Product code: 0x0024 Manufacturer Code: 0x8087 (Intel Corporation) Version: 0.00 Speed: Up to 480 Mb / sec Location Code: 0x1d100000 / 2 Available current (mA): 500 Required current (mA): 0 After a random amount of time, the usb device is unusable, but the system doesn't crash. Now I have a kernel panic after some rebooting, without closing right. Now I cannot boot without using cpus=1 Processor 3,29 GHz Intel Core i3 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 GeForce 210 1024 MB Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74) Next to this, I don't have any other devices connected. After reinstalling, the problems are solved for a while and I can boot normally.
