2. Hi guys, I've been lurking in the shadows for months trying to learn how to hackintosh this laptop. Perhaps if anyone has the time, I could use some help getting it to install Trying to install High Sierra on this Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 110-171KB-80VK (2017) Intel Core i5 7200U Intel HD 620 Graphics Resolution: 1600x900 Elan PS2 Track Pad - [ACPI\VEN_ETD&DEV_0675 - system device -PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D23&SUBSYS_383117AA&REV_21] Realtek Network - [PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_383317AA&REV_07] Realtech audio SATA Controller - [PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D03&SUBSYS_382F17AA&REV_21] USB 3.0 XHC - [PCI\VEN_808 --- Using Clover * --- I'll attach it below. I can't quite get it to install, and i've been going in circles for months now ... I'll attach everything I have so far including, verbose pics, clover preboot, Clover folder, etc. Here are some photos of the verbose text leading up to the installer, if maybe there is something useful in here? And now photos of the installer Above is an image of the Installer log, (the main pop up window loads from about 10 mins and stops arbitrarily at 2 minutes left, every time) of the nearly hundred attempts i have made, this is the final screen i get, pretty much no matter what i do. Sometimes the the order of what it says is different , but the main things of interest are: "Target is not convertible to APFS: This volume is not formatted as Mac OS Extended journaled." "Warning: Couldn't find Board ID, Chip ID, & ECID in new namespace, falling back" "Unable to get fs for null" " NO native mechanism to verify Applediagnostics.chunklist" " NO native mechanism to verify Installfa.plist" " NO native mechanism to verify Basesystem.dmg" " NO native mechanism to verify AppleDiagnostics.dmg" " NO native mechanism to verify InstallESD.dmg" " NO native mechanism to verify Basesystem.chumklist" I have tried many many ... many .. different combinations of kexts, drivers, copies of clover, forks of clover - different copies of drivers and kexts from different sources.. including from all the official repositories. * I am not trying to install with APFS - the drive i am using is a spinning HDD - so i don't understand the first line quote above. * I am using a usb2 slot - there is only two on this machine - 1- usb2 and 1- usb3 * As you'll see in the Clover folder i'm using APFSdriverloader. - so the installer should detect the installer-APFS-thing - and see it should be HFS+ ?? no? I'll detail the procedures: I wiped the Target HDD drive with a live linux USB. i prepair the USB with Createinstallmedia method, install clover to the EFI on usb, load kexts and drivers (I've been recently attempting with the Plist from a 'certain other site' Ton*****86) As it has the dvmt preallocation patch and other bits - i'm of course open to ANY other files/pLists .. this is just the one i've been experimenting with lately.) Add ' -v ' in clover options to see the verbose output in the installer (acts sketchy sorta, delayed and sluggish) i use DiskUtility to erase the drive 'Macos extended journaled' Make initial selections, agree to license and begin install. it proceeds to 2 minutes left every time, and hangs. many times i've left it for hours, and even overnight. I'm honestly not kidding, it's nearly 100 times ive' tried this, i've downloaded high sierra from the app store 5 times to rule out that, i've used countless combinations of everything .. i'm almost completely burned out. If anyone can shed some light i'll be VERY thankful!... I'm ready to go in a completely new direction...please please please help I'll put the Clover in the next post because i ran out of space in this one...... Here is the latest clover i've been using, with the preboot, and DSDT/SSDT (F2 & F4) in it. CLOVER-Oct15.zip Thank you very much for ANY help you can provide
3. Hi guys. Just wanted to say this is my new favorite forum for mac hacks I'm trying to get mojave to work, and using the guide's (moderator made, on the front page) clover folder I ALMOST got it! T.T There's something still wrong tho. lol. - Install to a HDD formated as case-sensitive APFS goes black at 2 minutes remaining. Is it supposed to fill the progress bar 100%? If so then I have a problem. - Assuming the install went well, I tried to boot to "MacOS Prebooter" from clover screen and got that error. I have a Z170m ASUS, awesome board. I'm sure it can be done. With Intel 6700k. Latest clover. Guide's clover config!! What do you guys think? - mobo config problem - other hardware thing (I have many harddrives connected?) - clover config - need some driver/kext - something else THANK YOU! PS: I've tried upgrading with the App store download on a Sierra system to arrive in the same screen, with the same error. I'll also spend some time today searching the forums. Just busy atm, and thanks for any help or tips!!

5. Lenovo Thinkpad L420 macOS Sierra Guide Thanks to the good old mighty Clover Bootloader, we have so much better support for laptops and different alternative hardware. I have made a few HackBook Pros but without a shadow of a doubt this Lenovo L420 is almost a perfect Apple computer. Even better in some aspects if you ask me about it. Lenovo theme on Clover in my L420 I will be quoting a good fellow of the community, tluck , who made an awesome guide for his Lenovo T420, and he also helped me achieve better functionality. Regards to you my friend. I have already written a guide for installing and perfecting Mac OS X El Capitan on this PC, but I wanted to see how good Sierra could run, and OH BOY it is running like a charm. Here are the specs of the machine. In my case I added 8GB of RAM. I understand this is not a highly popular laptop outside corporations, I don’t even know if it was ever sold to the general public, so I guess this post will help me know that hahah anyway a friend of mine gave me two of them, one with i5 another with i3. This tutorial applies to any of those models. It should also apply to older versions of Mac OS X all the way until Snow Leopard (little modifications required as well as appropriate kexts) What is working WiFi , Bluetooth, Airdrop (Wifi replaced with Atheros AR9285) Full QE/CI acceleration with integrated Intel HD3000 graphics Trackpad with 1 finger , 2 finger and 3 finger gestures keyboard as well as function keys (brightness, volume) Battery percentage Sleep, Shutdown and Reboot Sound working on ALC269 mobile DVD Drive DisplayPort audio and video VGA out USB 3.0 ExpressCard (Renesas) iMessage and Facetime Recovery Partition What is not working You tell me 1. Creating the install media The best way to install macOS to our Hackintosh is definitely to create a USB with the latest version of macOS Sierra (10.12.5 as of writing this guide) and to use the createinstallmedia method. For that you will need either a Macintosh computer, an existing Hackintosh or a Virtual Machine running OS X 10.6 or above. This way you will end up with a clean vanilla install , and with a recovery partition capable of booting and capable of using FindMyMac / FindMyiPhone I won’t go into too much details about this since this is one of the first things you should know when attempting to Hackintosh. This procedure is for a new macOS installation using a USB Installer. Download macOS from the App Store - it is freely available One can build a macOS USB installer with the standard macOS installer app downloaded from the "App Store". Download and extract the zip file from this post to build a Clover-based USB installer. This same bundle will be installed later on HD. Install macOS to a GPT formatted disk using the standard Install macOS.app downloaded from the Apple Store. Create a macOS USB installer Partition an 8GB (or larger) USB formatted with GUID Partition Table (GPT) - use the Partition Options... menu to change from MBR to GPT - Name the partition USB - the install process will rename it, but it matches the script below. - Use format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) (formerly OS X Extended) Note: if you have a larger USB (say 16GB) you can split into 2 8GB partitions, so you can have 10.12 and 10.11 installers on the same USB key Run this command to copy the bits to the USB key: Note: if using an older version of macOS, replace with the corresponding app name. sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction 2. Install bootloader (Clover) to install media You should select your USB in the Clover installer and then hit “Customize” Select the next options: Install Clover in the ESP Install boot0ss in MBR Clover EFI 64bits SATA CSMVideoDxe-64 EmuVariableUEFI-64 OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 Fat64 3. Configuring the bootloader After installation is complete, the EFI partition we want to configure will already be mounted, so we proceed to open it and do the following Install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi in drivers64UEFI folder and remove VboxHFS.efi. Because this PC doesn’t have any UEFI you should also install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi to the drivers64 folder. Open the folder /EFI/Clover/kexts and delete all the folders starting by 10 and leave only the “other” folderIn the above mentioned “other” folder. Place the kexts that I will quote next (you can download the ones attached to the post, but I always recommend the latest versions) : ACPIBatteryManager.kext AppleALC.kext CodecCommander.kext FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext FakePCIID.kext FakeSMC, HWInfo, IntelCPUMonitor (HwSensors3 from Slice) GenericUSBXHCI.kext (only if you use an USB3.0 ExpressCard) RealtekRTL8111.kext USBInjectAll.kext VoodooPS2Controller.kext (tluck's version) L420 kextpack.zip Notes on VoodooPS2 (tluck) VoodooPS2Controller.kext (v1.8.25f) - New custom T420 version of RehabMans's PS2 Keyboad/TouchPad/TrackPoint - This version has extra T420 definitions in the Info.plist files. Tweaks to help with TrackPoint on startup Jakibaki's cut/paste fix for middle button + scrolling fix. if MiddeMouseScroll is set to true scrolling TrackPoint works. Sierra PrefPane integration and other fixes (smoothness and caps-lock) by usr-sse2 (see this post on GitHub) Modified Info.plist(s) to add LENOVO T420 override settings. TrackPad pressure FingerZ value set to 47 - up from default of 30 - change to suite your touch in VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2TrackPad.kext/Contents/Info.plist Various Default overrides such as MouseMultiplier X and Y for TrackPoint. Note: VoodooPS2Controller keyboard mappings have 3 or 4 finger swipe left/right to back/forward configured for Safari browser vs space swipe Optional Key Map: This map works in El Capitan. Since the NX keys are in a state of flux for Sierra - it is disabled by default now. If you would want to use this new map, edit the Info.plist file and rename the T420 key map entry. The F1-F15 key mappings are VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext/Contents/Info.key.plist: F1 - LCD Brightness Down F2 - LCD Brightness Up F3 - Mission Control App Selector F4 - Launchpad F5 - F6 - F7 - Mirror Displays F8 - Disable/Enable TouchPad F9 - F10 - Mute Volume F11 - Volume Down F12 - Volume Up PrtSc - Scan Previous Track ScrLck - iTunes Play/Pause Pause - Scan Next Track Insert - Eject After all the kexts are in the correct folder you should tweak your config.plist as follows, I recommend using a proper plist editor , the best is Xcode. config.plist.zip Lenovo mostly whitelist the Wifi cards on their laptops (and some desktops) so you will have to use a custom BIOS for this. There is one here luckily. If you need me to explain how to flash it then you shouldn’t really be Hackintoshing in the first place. After you have flashed the BIOS make sure you set the SATA controller to AHCI. You should be able to boot from the Clover USB and install Mac OS X Remember to use a GUID partition scheme for the drive you will use. Recovery partition should be generated automatically by the OS X installer. 4. Hopefully you boot and get to install macOS well. Boot Clover from USB Installer and select Install macOS Install the OS on your GPT disk on the macOS partition. Make sure the drive is formatted using: Scheme: GUID Partition Map (GPT) Partition Name: macOS Format: macOS Extended (Journaled) Dual BOOT tip: If you plan to dual boot Windows from the same HD - DO NOT make the 2nd partition NTFS or ExFAT with the Disk Utility app. Make them both "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" Size the 2 partitions appropriately - but later you will delete/reformat the 2nd partition for Windows. Click through GUI Install menus and wait for the installation to fully complete - on a spinning disk takes about 30-45 minutes. Follow these Notes and Tips: When the installer screens shows: "To pair a Bluetooth keyboard, turn it on and wait for your computer to connect to it.” Hit the Space Bar to get past this step. When installer seems to hang at: "About a second remaining” Don’t Panic, this "second" may take about 10 minutes or more to finish. Just wait for the installer to reboot the computer and continue the installation. The whole install process takes about 1 hour to complete. On the first boot from the HD when asked: "How Do You Connect?” Select: “My computer does not connect to the Internet” You can set up the network later after installation of the NIC driver kext. Your Intel WiFi will not work. Period. 5. Next you have to install the boot loader to the HDD You should select your USB in the Clover installer and then hit “Customize” Select the next options: Install Clover in the ESP Install boot0ss in MBR Clover EFI 64bits SATA CSMVideoDxe-64 EmuVariableUEFI-64 OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 Fat64 Install all RC scripts to target partition After installation is complete, the EFI partition we want to configure will already be mounted, so we proceed to open it and do the following Again we install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi in drivers64UEFI folder and remove VboxHFS.efi. Because this PC doesn’t have any UEFI you should also install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi to the drivers64 folder. Also copy your ACPI files and config.plist at the right places. 6. In order to get everything working properly , follow these guidelines for ACPI tables patching. Firstly, press F4 at Clover GUI in order to dump the native ACPI tables. You will most probably get a crash, a red screen full of weird black numbers and strange symbols, do not worry, just force shutdown. At the next boot if you look in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/origin you should have a bunch of files. After getting MaciASL and acpica tools from RehabMan (always updated) and installing them, and adding rehabman’s laptop dsdt patch repository, which is this: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch Delete all files except DSDT, SSDT-0 and SSDT-1 in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/origin You should decompile the DSDT , SSDT-0 and SSDT-1 using the following commands (make sure you create a .txt document containing the following external references and place it in the same place where the ACPI files are) External(MDBG, MethodObj, 1)External(_GPE.MMTB, MethodObj, 0)External(_SB.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.ECWT, MethodObj, 2)External(_SB.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.ECRD, MethodObj, 1)External(_SB.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.ECMD, MethodObj, 1)External(_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP.SGPO, MethodObj, 2)External(_SB.PCI0.GFX0.DD02._BCM, MethodObj, 1)External(_SB.PCI0.SAT0.SDSM, MethodObj, 4)External(_GPE.VHOV, MethodObj, 3)External(_SB.PCI0.XHC.RHUB.TPLD, MethodObj, 2) Then do: cd /path/to/your/filesiasl -da -dl -fe refs.txt *.aml After obtaining the .dsl files you should open them and check for errors. The only error you will find will be in one of the SSDTs and it can be fixed using the Remove _PSS placeholders patch to fix that SSDT that only contains info about the CPU and is full of “Package (0x06)” When your files are nice and clean and in .dsl format you can happily apply the following patches to DSDT Use the patch “Rename GFX0 to IGPU” Use the patch “Rename B0D3 to HDAU” Use the patch "DTGP" (easy to find with our buddy Google) Use the patch "Fix _WAK Arg0 v2" Use the patch "HPET Fix" Use the patch "SMBUS Fix" Use the patch "IRQ Fix" Use the patch "RTC Fix" Use the patch "OS Check Fix" Use the patch "Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel" Use the patch "Add IMEI" Use the patch “6 Series USB” Use the patch "USB PRW 0x6D" Use the patch "Audio Layout id 3" Use the patch "L420 battery patch" For Brightness keys (Q14 and Q15 in DSDT) In Method _Q14 add at the end: Notify (PS2K, 0x0206)Notify (PS2K, 0x0286) In Method _Q15 add at the end: Notify (PS2K, 0x0205)Notify (PS2K, 0x0285) If you are lost with ACPI here is how you should place the code: Little bonus, since the ThinkVantage key does absolutely nothing, I patched the DSDT so that when you hit that key, the fans will remain at 100% speed all the time. Hit it again and they go back to auto mode Cool Right? Replace your _Q19 method with this (credits to tluck) Method (_Q19, 0, NotSerialized) // _Qxx: EC Query { Name (FANS, One) Store (HFSP, FANS) XOr (FANS, 0x80, Local0) If (Local0) { Store (0x80, HFSP) } Else { Store (0x07, HFSP) } } After all the ACPI tables are properly patched save them all and compile your tables cd /path/to/patched/tablesiasl *.dsl After getting the resulting patched aml files, place them in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched for Clover to load itFinally you will need to generate an SSDT using ssdtPRGen.sh Note: - If you want working brightness in Sierra make sure to download my ACPI files pack and use the provided SSDT-PNLF - Also if you use Atheros AR9285 like me you can use the attached SSDT-2 and see if it works, otherwise provide here your DSDT 7. After you have your DSDT, SSDT-0, SSDT-1 and SSDT (the one generated by the script) , along with SSDT-PNLF and SSDT-2 if you need them, place them all together in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched and in the ACPI section of your config.plist make sure to "Drop OEM" tables and set the "Sorted Order" Overall I would say this laptop is quite perfect for a Hackintosh , I use it for a few months and I love it, hope you do too. This Hack is functioning almost 100% in Mac OS X and certainly it performs so much better than in Windows Enjoy our fully functional Hack General Notes and Random Fixes The stock Intel WiFi will not work. The common approach is use a modded BIOS and replace the WiFi with a Broadcom or Atheros chip (I went for AR9285). Enable (turn on) Bluetooth so the green light is showing on the LCD bezel (do from Windows or Ubuntu). Also make sure the side switch is set to green too! When using external headphones or speakers, may need to plug and unplug 1 or 2 times for recognition. iMessage/Facetime may not register without overriding the Clover generated values with real ROM and MLB values from a real Apple Mac. Search thread for ROM to get more info. Clover can possibly generate proper values and inject using RtVariables - use mac address -- see wiki for details. Hibernation - Use OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi instead of OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi UEFI driver for restart from hibernation. Suggested settings if you don't want or use hibernation: sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 rm /var/vm/sleepimage if you want hibernation, then set hibernate mode to 7 (mode 7 is like mode 3 but without encryption) - may need to manually edit this value into the plist file now. sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 7 Note: Booting up from the hibernated image may have jumbled or blank LCD until you do a sleep/wake cycle to reset the LCD. Add boot option darkwake=0 if you would like to disable power nap and have the lid wake the gfx instead of hitting extra key. TrackPoint may not be responsive on startup (random occurance) - a sleep/wake cycle should revive it. Here are my patched tables if you need them L420 patched ACPI Sierra.zip
6. Hi I am try to install High Sierra, as per ##### I have have successfully booted from the install usb drive and have booted into "Install macOS High Sierra". I had to add a boot flag (-no_compat_check) to the clover bootloader in order for the usb stick to boot properly. Also, at first I couldn't see the SSD drive in disk utility, but I fixed that by asking disk utility to show all drives. Onto the current problem. I am having major issues trying to install High Sierra to a NVMe SSD. When I run "Install macOS High "Sierra" I get the following error: "The version of macOS installed on this mac is newer than the version you are trying to install. When a new update is available, you can install it from the Updates plane in the Mac App Store. If you want to reinstall macOS, please use macOS recovery." Also, It doesn't matter if the startup volume is formatted as APFS or HFS+. If I format the drive using GPARTED on linux, the installer just says the startup volume doesn't have journaling enable. If I then run disk utility and enable journaling on the startup volume, then go back to the installer, I get the aforementioned error msg. I have the following specs: i9-7900. Asus Prime X299 Deluxe. ADATA 512GB NVMe SSD. How do I fix this issue?

Requirements Here are the requirements: A Dell Latitude E6320 – This is necessary to install macOS Sierra for this tutorial A copy of Mac OS X – This can be in the form of an existing hackintosh, a virtual machine within Windows or Linux, or even a regular Mac. If you don’t have any of these things, then find someone who can help you out for a while. I prefer using a hackintosh with OSX El Capitan, Using an already working copy of Mac OS X either in a VM or a native hackintosh install is HIGHLY recommended. A 8GB USB flash drive (or larger) – We’ll be copying the files to the drive appropriately, so make sure that you have a flash drive with enough storage space (8GB or larger). A copy of macOS Sierra – The method used by this guide requires that you have a copy of the macOS Sierra Installation app, wich is available for free from the Mac App Store. 30-60 minutes of time – Depending on how tech-savvy you are, this may be quick, or it may take a while. An SSD or HDD to install 10.12 to – For me, I used a 500GB HDD to install 10.12 to. An Wireless N Nano USB Adaptor – For use with wifi Highly recommended. I use a TP-LINK TL-WN725N adaptor. E6320_V2.zip – This ZIP file contains everything that you need to get your flash drive properly prepared. 3. My Specs My installation was successfully done on an Dell Latitude E6320 i5-2520M laptop computer with the following specs. Intel Core i5-2520M @ 2.5GHz, 3MB cache, Dual Core 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM Western Digital 250GB HDD INTEL HD3000 Video Intel 825xx onboard network Dell wireless 375 Bluetooth 3.0 onboard (works OOB) IDT 92HDxxx HD audio onboard TL-WN725N Wireless N Nano USB Adaptor Apple Magic Trackpad (only @home) Apple Wireless Keyboard US (only @home) Apple Magic Mouse 4. Download OS X Sierra Download macOS Sierra from the Mac App Store. Once macOS Sierra is downloaded, close the install pop-up that appears using Command (⌘)+Q. The application INSTALL macOS Sierra will appear in /Applications Done! 5. Prepare bootable USB Installer Note on flash drives: You will need a USB flash drive to make this work. Your USB should be at least 8GB and a USB 3.0 drive is preferred. Kingston sells an 8GB USB 3.0 drive for less than 10 euro. Now, we need to prepare the USB Drive so that it will properly bootup on your PC. Make sure that the disk you choose to use doesn't contain anything that you want to keep, because the following tutorial will purge everything on the drive. Open Finder - Applications and right-click on Install macOS Sierra and select Show Package Contents. Open Contents - Resources. Open a Terminal window thru Applications - Utilities - Terminal. In the Terminal window type sudo followed by a space. Drag the createinstallmedia file from the finder window opened in Step 4 to the Terminal Window. Type --volume followed by a space. Connect your USB drive and drag the USB drive into the Terminal Window. Type --applicationpath in the Terminal followed by a space. Open Finder - Applications and drag the Install macOS Sierra into the Terminal Window. Press Return on the keyboard to submit the full command. Type a 'Y' to continue when prompted to do so, and press Return on your keyboard The install process will begin by erasing the contents of your USB disk and copying the installer files to the USB disk. The entire process is quite lengthy; it can takes around 15-30 minutes, so you will need to show some patience 6. Import config.plist from EFI/EFI/Clover (File , import configuration, browse to config.plist and select). In Clover Configurator Click on RT Variables, Enter Rom and MLB Values from iMessage output from valid iMac device. Save changes to config.plist. Reboot, Sign into iMessage. iMessage and FaceTime should now both be working. 21. BOOT 0 Error If you are using a 4k HDD you can get boot:0 error, to solve this issue do the following. Reboot system back into Sierra installer (USB)FLASH DRIVE). Run Disk Utility find the Disk Identifier (eg. disk0s2). Unmount the drive you installed Sierra on. Launch Terminal and execute the following command: dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/disk0s2. Exit Terminal. Boot Normally. Run macOS Sierra 10.12 E6320.pdf

HP DV6 2150us install help

Hello- So I have been trying dilligently for days to get OSX Yosemite installed on my HP Pavillion dv6 2150us laptop. I have tried all kinds of different flags and bios settings and in verbose i get all the way to a point where that screen looks like it changes to a GUI but it is garbled lines that i cant make anything of. I am looking for pretty much a walkthrough on how to get this working. I am using a legitimate copy of OSX Yosemite from my wifes MacBook Air but I would like to install El Capitan (which I can get from her MacBook when I update it). What would be the best bootloader for my install? Kexts? really any and all help would be appreciated. Attached are hardware and system info screenshots. Thank you all so much in advance. Its my first post but I have been lurking the forums for weeks getting tons of information from other's posts but I just haven't been able to get it right yet.

Basically, when I attempt to boot the installer, the picture attached shows the results. Not too sure about the boot flags I should be using with clover, but I'll attach my specs to hopefully help you help me. CPU: Intel i5-4690k MoBo: MSI H97 Gaming 3 GPU: MSI R9 390x HDD: Sandisk 128GB SSD Thanks much. P.S Trying to boot with -x just adds Safe Boot Enabled to the bottom of the pictured results. Still the hangup, though.

18. Hi I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if anybody can give me a decently detailed guide on installing macOS Sierra on my Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK. I do know a bit about computers such as the BIOS and stuff, by I really don't know anything about Macs and how they work. Also, can I dual boot my currently installed Windows 10 alongside macOS Sierra? The specs of my laptop are below: CPU: Intel Core i5-6200U (Skylake) RAM: 2 Hyundai Electronics 4GB DDR3 sticks Motherboard: Lenovo Paris 5A8 Wireless card: Intel Wireless AC 3165 WiFi + Bluetooth chip BIOS: Lenovo D5CN28WW Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 520 Link to my laptop's support page on Lenovo's site: http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/gb/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/300-series/300-15isk/80q7?linkTrack=Homepage%3ABody_Search+Products&searchType=4&keyWordSearch=300-15ISK%2520Laptop%2520%2528ideapad%2529%2520-%2520Type%252080Q7 Thanks.
19. I'm running into a few issues when trying to get Windows 7 up and running on my Hackintosh. First my hardware: Gigabyte Z-87N-WIFI Intel 45670K Asus GTX 760 Corsair 1600 2x4GB Corsair 430w CMX PSU M4 Crucial 128GB SSD - OS X install drive\ WD 1TB HDD - 700GB HFS+ partition, 300GB NTFS Windows install partition Fractal Node 304 Case OS X Version: 10.9.2 Here's how the install went: Initial install of OS X fine, very stable and running for six months ish. I recently replaced the bootloader from Chimera to Clover in order to use the mouse to select an OS, in prep for the Windows install. Clover is up and running, and equally seems fine. I disconnected my SSD (OS X boot drive), and went ahead and installed Windows 7 onto the 300GB partition. This was originally formatted in FAT32, but I re-formatted it in NTFS before the install took place. All went well, I installed drivers etc, rebooted several times, then re-connected the SSD. This is where I ran into problems. Clover can see the Windows install, and it shows up on the boot screen, but when I select it it hangs at a blinking cursor. A quick google shows a fix for this, and suggests it's a problem with the master boot record. The solution i've seen mentioned is to re-boot via the Windows Installation DVD, go to command prompt and enter the following: 1- c:/Bootrec.exe /FixMbr 2- c:/Bootrec.exe /FixBoot 3- c:/Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd My worry here is that I will damage my OS X install/Clover in some unforeseen way, as i'm not sure of how the boot sectors interact with each other. Any thoughts here? Am I barking up the wrong tree entirely? Will the above solution work? All comments appreciated!
20. Salve raga, potete aiutarmi a trovare le kext per il mio HP pavilion g6 1364sl? Ho appena completato l'installazione, ma mancano molte kext.
21. Hi there, I’ve only tried on MSI GE60 2OE Core-i5-4200M version but I think it will work on GE70 2OE too as well because it has very similar hardware, I think the only difference is screen and body size. I’m a hackintosh newbie, so there are a lots more thing that potentially can be fixed I think. I still have to learn more. Normally, OS X Installer won’t install to disk that already have Windows installation, or disk without GPT Reserved partition size 200 mb at the start (Apple Disk Utility erase function will create GPT Reserved size 200 mb at the start of the disk), but I have some trick, and it require a spare external hard disk. My Specs : Core i5-4200M Intel HD4600 Nvidia GTX 765M 15.6” 1920x1080 HDD 1 TB 5400 RPM RAM 8 GB DDR3 1600 Realtek HD Audio ALC892 Realtek RTL8723AE Wifi + Bluetooth Killer E2200 Ethernet Download Files : https://www.mediafire.com/folder/48cufaxuxo34z/GE60_2OE_OS_X What Works : Intel HD Graphic 4600 with Full OpenGL Acceleration (QE/CI) Battery level monitoring Intel Speedstep Indeed, OS X doesn’t support showing real current CPU frequency, even on real mac (you can read more here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4104026?tstart=0 ), all cpu speed reporting program will report at highest turbo boost frequency all the time, but when I use program like HWMonitor, it shows than when the system is not heavily loaded, CPU power usage is around 6 W, and temperature is not high. When the system is loaded, CPU power usage spikes up to 18-25 Watt, temperature rises up to 80 celcius, laptop fan spin faster, which indicates that Intel Speedstep is indeed working. Sleep (some plugged in usb device can cause the system not to go to sleep successfully) Sound (only speaker and built in mic using VoodooHDA) Screen brightness adjustment Elan multitouch pad Elan keyboarad Ethernet All USB Ports What doesn’t work yet: HDMI Out (don’t know how to fix) DVI Out Headphones, line-in microphone (fixing them is too hard for me) Card Reader NVIDIA GTX 765MIt is powered when in OS X, draining battery and generate some heat, and I have no idea how to power it down. NVIDIA Optimus graphic switching technology can’t be worked on OS X because on real Macs, Apple uses its own graphic switching implementation instead of NVIDIA Optimus. Wifi and BluetoothWell, there aren’t any driver for them. Right now I’m using a cheap TP-Link TL-WN723N USB Wifi adapter. Wifi and Bluetooth are on the same Realtek chip. Requirement : Windows Installed with EFI boot partition with GPT disk scheme. (not require if you are installing OS X as first OS on the disk) A spare external hard disk (need to be erased for OS X installation, and not needed if no windows installed on internal hard disk) A spare USB flash drive with at least 8 GB capacity. (need to be erased for OS X installer) OS X Machine or VMWare to prepare installer (if OS X on VMware had OpenGL Acceleration, I would not have tried to dual boot. Damn you Apple for not publicize document on how to make graphic driver, doubt it is the reason why OS X gaming performance is much slower than Windows’) Steps 1 : Preparation of OS X Installer Get OS X 10.9.1 app store installer. (torrent is your friend) Mount the dmg image of OS X installer. Do this on OS X VMware or real Mac of course. In mounted image, right click on “Mavericks.app” and choose “Show Contents”. Go to "Contents/Shared Support" and mount InstallESD.dmg Mount BaseSystem.dmg by typing the following in terminal: open /Volumes/OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/BaseSystem.dmg In DiskUtility, go to the "OS X Base System", Restore it to your USB disk. Navigate to /System/Installation on your USB drive. Delete the “Packages” link, then copy the Packages folder from “OS X Install ESD” to this location. Copy the kexts in “GE602OE_Kexts.zip” I provided to /System/Library/Extensions on your USB stick, but for safety, remove original kexts that has same name first because those kexts are folder not file. Delete these kexts to prevent hanging on installer boot screen AppleBluetoothMultitouch.kext IOBluetoothFamily.kext IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext Install Clover bootloader I provided to the USB Drive. • Install for UEFI booting only • Themes->Choose one • Drivers64UEFI->OsxAptioFixDrv-64 11. Install Clover Configurator to use it for mounting newly clover-created EFI partition on USB Drive easily. 12. Copy and replace all files in CLOVER_GE602OEconfigured.zip to the EFI partition. You may still need clover configurator to manually config boot loader to suit your need, or try to fix problem later, also it is configured to boot without kernel cache, booting with kernel cache fails boot process a lot in my laptop, so I disabled it permanently, it will take a bit longer to boot os x. Also DSDT and SSDT are included in the zip file. UPDATE1: if you are using a different CPU than mine, you must remove SSDT.aml in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched ,and put NullCPUPowerManagement.kext into System/Library/Extension, now your OS X shouldn't be able to sleep and doesn't have intel speedstep working. I will teach you to fix it later. 13. Copy mach_kernel to the root of USB Drive partition “OS X Base System”. This is modified kernel to fix early reboot problem on intel haswell or core i gen 4 . Now we are ready to boot into OS X Installer Step 2 : My BIOS Setting (might not necessary) Step 3 : Installing OS X to external hard drive 1.Setup UEFI firmware to boot to OS X USB Installer. 2.When CLOVER bootloader shows up, boot to “OS X Base System” 3.Plug in external hard drive , then open Disk Utility and erase the external hard drive with GUID partition scheme. 4.Create a new partition with Mac OS Journaled file system. 5.Install OS X to that partition 6.Reboot to Windows and install program like MacDrive, Paragon HFS for Windows to access OS X partition. 7.Copy and replace mach_kernel to the root of the OS X drive, also the Kexts I provided to /System/Library/Extensions/ ,but for safety, remove original kexts that has same name first because those kexts are folder not file. UPDATE 1: Also, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext if you are not using i5-4200M like me. Step 4 : Finalizing installation 1.Now Boot to OS X on external hdd 2.Reinstall kexts I provided using Kext Wizard, this fixes kexts improper installed mesaages. 3.Install VoodooHDA-2.8.4.Lion.pkg 4.Optionally, I recommend FakeSMC + Plugins + HWMonitor found in Slytherin, it allows you to view hardware temp, CPU power usage, and seeing that CPU frequency is locked at turboboost speed, but indeed it is not. 5.To fix screen brightness adjustment, Copy org.rehabman.blinkscreen.plist to /Library/LaunchAgents Copy blink screen to /usr/bin. Type "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES" in terminal to show hidden files. UPDATE1 : 6.if you are using different cpu than mine, not i5-4200M, make SSDT yourself here http://rampagedev.wordpress.com/guides/make-your-own-ssdt/, and mount EFI partition on OSX USB Installer using clover configurator, and copy newly created SSDT to /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched , finally delete NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in S/L/E (System/Library/Extensions) Step 5 : Moving OS X install to internal hard disk 1.Resize partition to have free space for your OS X partition, and format that free space to Unformatted. I recommend Minitool Partition Wizard. 2.Reopen explorer.exe with admin right, and run mountvol z: /s. This will mount EFI partition. 3.Open EFI drive and open EFI folder, copy CLOVER folder to EFI folder from CLOVER_GE602OEconfigured.zip, but DON’T REPLACE BOOT folder, or you will replace default EFI boot from Windows’ one to Clover. But if you did that, windows still boot, I have tried that, the UEFI firmware loads Windows boot loader from MICROSOFT folder instead of BOOT folder. 4.Boot to clover bootloader on usb flash drive, now you will see that there are two Clover Boot Option. Check them one by one and Add Clover as UEFI boot option for the internal hard disk (SATA not USB), see the picture Yay! You added clover boot loader entry to the UEFI firmware. 5.Now boot into OS X installer or OS X Base System, open Disk Utility and do a restore Source : Your installed OS X volume on external harddisk Destination : Your unformatted allocated space on internal hard disk All done, you will be able to boot OS X from internal hard disk now, I haven’t tried updating it to 10.9.2 and 10.9.3 yet, and I have read somewhere that there are some problems with NVIDIA Kexts for 10.9.2. If somebody manages to fix HDMI, DVI, Audio problems please tell me. Hmm, did some GPU benchmark. Windows won. I set nvidia optimus to use Intel GPU instead of mighty GTX 765M instead,
22. Hello, I have a problem getting the installer to load I have done the install method (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/289062-109-mavericks-simple-vanilla-hackintosh-install-guide/) Short desc: the bootloader is Enoch-chameleon r2748, on GPT/HFS+, for legacy bios The issue is when I boot the install usb drive, it starts in verbose, then a gray screen with the rainbow-mouse shows up, and hangs on there. @native resolution. The installation screen doesn't show up I have searched on google before posting I have previously used this method with Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and it worked fine, I think there's somethin wrong with the loading process of it: when i did the same on ML, it worked My Specz: GA z77m D3H motherboard (F14 rom Bios&Uefi modes) Intel i7-2600 SandyBridge (no oc, all settings stock) AMD R7-265 (Sapphire Dual-X) 8GB ram (2x4 1333) Display Dell 22' on main gpu DVI out HD Wd CV green 1Tb/ SSD transcend 64GB Detailed desc. My motherboard series is known to work OOTB, and it does on Yosemite, better on ML. The usb will boot even without kext and other mods, Are added fakesmc, dsdt, acpi patch, libc, libc++ from Enoch. I used cameleon instead of clover (will try when installed on HD) because it crashes on my Virtualbox VM (osx 10.11), also crash creating uefi partitions. Bios settings seems to be correct.. Boot args: >/Kernel (to load original kernel (10.10, also 10.11 works) from usb root/kernel) >/Kernel -F -x -v dart=0 acpi=0 pcirootuid=1 graphicsenabler=no (dont help )
23. Hi all! I have just received a new Samsung 840 pro and I wanted to test and install on it the 10.8.5 that I've just download from the appstore on my MBP , now I'm running fine on 10.7.3 with i7 920, X58-UD5, 4870 Toxic 1GB.. I searched over the net for compatibilities issues and found a thread (old but with no replies) where another user with 4870 toxic edition says that on 10.8 he has screen issues and no QE/CI with that card. Then I found out that a new version of QE_CI exotic patch for 10.8.5 have been released, supporting 48xx series card. Now I will try to set up this new installation using the QE_CI exotic patch even if I don't know if it will work.. If not (and even if it will) I was thinking to buy a new video card like the GTX 760, looking forward to 10.9, the problem is that the 760 is supported only since 10.8.2 but I still have 3 10.6/10.7 osx installations (gaming/design/music).. What could I do for having all the configs running with the new card? Can I leave the 4870 inside and just "add" the new one? All the best!
24. Hello, my name is Joe. Im having a lot of trouble with iAtkos ML2. My first problem was installing to my computer for the first time. I took me a litte over 30 trys using bootflags to finally get to the installation screen. I entered a bunch of bootflags that I can't remember. I entered -v to see what line of text it stopped at and it stopped at "BootCacheControl: can't open var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file or directory" On my last attempt I entered a boot flag which I can't remember what it was but it finally got me to the installation setup. I set up everything how I want and installed and restarted when finished. When it booted back into iAtkos everything was running pretty good. I decided to install Kexts. I used #####, but I can't remember which Kexts I used but I dont think they were not correct. When I rebooted, it went to the Apple logo then 3 seconds after a grey screen dropped from the top to the bottom then displayed a messaging saying that I need to restart my computer. The message was displayed in about 5 other languages too. No matter how many times I restarted it did the same thing. So I reformatted my hard drive that iAtkos was on so I could install it fresh again. The problem now is that it won't boot to the installation screen. It stops on line "BootCacheControl: Can't open var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file or directory", Any help would be greatly appreciated.
