Works great on OSX 10.7 Lion!

DP4 or GM?

Same bootloader and version as shown in your signature? If not, which bootloader and version?

I've tried a slew of different Chameleon 2.0 RC5 versions, but without any luck. Will be installing 10.6.7 and 10.6.8 tonight to see if I can get this working in one of those versions. Cardreader works in Win 7 64 bit.

Thanks Andy! Works fine in 10.6.8, also in Lion GM 11A511

My card reader on my Toshiba satellite L-505 have the same id's that kext attached:

ID del producto: 0x0159 --> 0345

ID del fabricante: 0x0bda --> 3034

(Realtek Semiconductor Corp.)

IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceNub:

Product Identification: Multi-Card

Vendor Identification: Generic-

I only install AnyCardReader.kext in S/L/E and repair permissions.

System profiler only show card reader after insert SD card.

Sorry for my english.

Without kext:

Edits to AnyCardReader.kext:

  • AnySDCardReaderAnySBC & Fake Apple Card Reader SCSI Inject
    • Product Identification = Ultra HS-SD/MMC
    • Vendor Identification = Generic

    [*]AnySDCardReaderAppleSBC

    • None

[*]Any_Internal_SD_Card_Reader_1_00 & Fake Apple Card Reader Device & Fake Apple Card Reader Interface & Fake Apple Card Reader SBC Inject & Fake Apple Card Reader UMC Inject

    • idProduct = 16484
    • idVendor = 1060

It's recognized in /System Information/Hardware/USB, but does not bring up anything on the desktop when an SD card is inserted.

Same here.

Lion + Chameleon RC5 r1200 + Dell U3011 card reader.

I have noticed that SD-cards are only recognized, if I put them in at boot time. Otherwise no entries in the log and IOReg, nothing.

Is that something you are aware of or is it my buggy Asus Bios having trouble with the usb device? It's a onboard-connector so I can't just replug it.

Open IORegistryExplorer and next insert a memory card (SD/MMC/...)

Look under the EHCI parts for finding the memory card host controller (will be green because of card insertion).

Under the device look for the IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceNub entry (below the USB device)

Click on this and look for:

- Vendor Identification

- Product Identification

Don't see these

- Vendor Identification

- Product Identification

How to find it?

thank you thank you so much andy...

here is my info.plist recompiled for internal card reader of my samsung nc10 following your instructions

hope it could be useful for someone

Ps it works flawlessly with my nc10 with 10.6.7 and chameleon v14xx

the only one isssue is when resuming from sleep (whith inserted card) osx needs some seconds more to detect the inserted card and during the detection shows the message of uncorrect remove of external unit

It looks like the kext has some problems in Lion. Probably it should be optimized for Lion...

Andy, would you be so kind? ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

just tried it on my hp envy 14-1195ez on lion 10.7.0

It wont show up as an internal CardReader but all SDCards get correctly mounted and showup with a nice SDCard icon.

Only downside, i cant boot with the kext installed if i have my USB Keyboard/Mouse connected. It gives me a KP right after chameleon (Apple IOKit)

Hi, I own an USB-CRW 2,0 from Realtek on my Asus Laptop (idProduct : 313 and idVendor : 3034)

I've done all the required edits in the kext and now my card reader is detected as an Internal Card Reader but it still doesn't work.

I think this is because of this message : Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured).

I'd like to find a way to configure the required current in DSDT or other to make my card reader usable. If someone has some ideas, I'll try them :-)

P.S. : I already have a working DSDT
