  1. Hi, I never reboot since this can cause some problems with the Realtek Audio Card. With my Crucial M550, I cold boot in 15s maximum from Clover boot screen and I shutdown in 10-15s. El Capitan's sleep is far more stable than Yosemite, I advise you to upgrade, except if you use a lot of strange USB devices. BTW I started to work on Sierra. For the first try, install works fine as well as QE/CI. But WLAN doesn't work as this time with the BCM4352. Touchpad has a strange behavior too, I'll try to use the updated version. Since I don't have a lot of time because of my work, I'm not going to write the complete guide. You should find by yourself on the forum how to create a vanilla installer (there are a lot of great tutorial like this one : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298027-guide-aio-guides-for-hackintosh/page-2?do=findComment&comment=2030113) . Then use my Clover folder and install the other kexts in /S/L/E. If you are new to osx86, look on the forums, there are many posts that explain how to do that. Good luck !
  2. Here is my original ACPI DSDT/SSDT from bios 208 (the latest). I'm working on a new version of the DSDT, slimmed down as possible. We don't need all the method in the PEGP device, only the one for shutdown down the card. Moreover, many methods in ATKD are never used. I'm not doing this just for fun ; sometimes something happens because of ACPI code and I want to know why. So I'm slimming down the code to see what is useful and what's not. I use ACPIDebug.kext from RehabMan and I look for some variables at different times like after / before sleep, etc... We may need more documentation to understand all of this... The main problems I want to fix are the need to close and open lid for proper display when you connect an external screen after cold boot, and the loss of touchpad after some days of use. If you have some advises, I'll be glad to know :-) N550JV-origin-bios208.zip
  3. I'm using ACPI 6.1 so check your compiler Here is the .dsl file if you need it Brightness works thanks to DSDT patch with PNLF device with brightness levels definition. Then, you can use the FN keys to change it (and all the other functions) thanks to AsusNBFnKeys.kext. However, the WLAN FN keys seems to be broken sometimes : WLAN shutdown but doesn't restart until reboot. Bluetooth shutdown and restart is working. DSDT.dsl.zip
  4. ASUS N550JV I'd been working on this computer since of the beginning of 2014 and I can say that OS X is pretty stable on it with El Capitan 10.11.4 [EDIT] Some news about Sierra Well... In June 2017 I finally cross the line and I bought the MacBook Pro 14,3 dropping my N550JV, that's why I'm not gonna help you with Sierra. However, since Apple hardware seems to be buggy sometimes (or bad luck ?), my MacBook Pro motherboard died after only 3 months. Not so good for a 3000€ laptop... Student, but also freelance web developper, I need my (working) laptop everyday. But Apple seems to considerate that paying a product 3000€ is not enough to get a free replacement device ASAP when a failure happens. The warranty will take the motherboard replacement fees, but my MacBook won't be available during 6 or 7 days : what a loss of income ! That's why I told the vendor that I have no choice but returning to Hackintosh to be able to work. And I decided to try to boot my Time Machine backup on my N550JV. After some ajustements, it worked and I'm now running my MacBook image on the N550JV. I fixed QE/CI, touchpad and wireless, but I still miss the TouchBar... I have no time to explain the steps to make it work but you can find the clover folder I used to run 10.12.6 right here. You just have to install the updated versions of BrcmPatchRam and VoodooHDA in /S/L/E to have Bluetooth and Audio. This work is dirty but I hope it will help you to get Sierra running on the N550JV. Intel HD 4600 base frequency too low?

Hi, That's stranged because the HD4600 (mobile) of my laptop with 10.10.2 is stuck to 750Mhz. I use the MBP11,2 like you and I'm faking that I have a desktop HD4600 (the only way to enable it in Yosemite). - So we have the same config for the HD4600 but we don't have the same base frequency : maybe it's processor dependent - I'm stuck to 750MHz : no way to go up or down Do you renamed your graphic device to IGPU in your DSDT ? In Mavericks, it allowed me to have a better recognition of the Hd4600 frequency. I hope we'll be able to fix that. I'm going to play with this to begin : https://pikeralpha.wordpress.com/2014/01/25/applegraphicspowermanagement-sh/

    Intel HD 4600 QE/CI Yosemite

Thanks for sharing :-) Which did you use ? The first one or the second ? One more thing : if terminal report an error with the perl line change ‘s to 's After that patching worked for me but I still don't have QE/CI. As I'm injecting 0x04160000 I will try your value :-)

    Intel HD 4600 QE/CI Yosemite

Well, the desktop version of Intel HD 4600 seems to be working for everyone and I would like to thank all the people who have helped in this thread :-) I own the mobile version (0416) with an i7-7400HQ and QE/CI isn't working. What we know (DP6) : - QE/CI was working up to Mavericks 10.9.3 - Mobile HD 4600 id (0416) is not in the kext's plist so we have to add it to force the kext to load - Even when the kexts are loaded, Intel HD 4600 isn't working correctly : scrambled screen if booted normally and normal screen without QE/CI if booted with second monitor - Replacing the kexts by a Mavericks ones doesn't work : kext won't load - We inject ig-platform-id =0x04160000 with Clover and in DSDT as in Mavericks For the moment we seem to be stuck with Yosemite :-( Mavericks 10.9.4 achieved with combo update from 10.9.3 : --> Still full QE/CI but when I connected my second monitor on mini display port, the LVDS screen is scrambled. I can solve that by using the second monitor to set the screen option to mirror and unsetting it right after. Strange. I don't have this issue if I booted with the second screen already plugged in ; even if I unplug and plug it again later. Mavericks 10.9.4 Vanilla clean install : --> Black screen in the installer = cannot install it Full QE/CI if I boot with the second monitor plugged in 10.9.4 kexts are strange and maybe we can link that to the problems in Yosemite... Hope we'll solve this issue....

    Help disable NVIDIA GT525M

Can you send us an ioreg please ? This can help :-) And your SSDT(s) because there aren't any _OFF method for shutting down your card in the DSDT.

Does someone know when it will be available ?

    Intel HD 4600 QE/CI Yosemite

Well after some researches, the MacBookPro11,2 doesn't have a discrete graphic card but it has a GMUX device in DSDT. I would like to understand why the GMUX kext load in Yosemite and not in Mavericks...

    Intel HD 4600 QE/CI Yosemite

I'm using MacBookPro11,2 which has only an integrated GPU ans nous discrete one ; so I don't understand why AppleMuxControl.kext is loaded :-(

    Intel HD 4600 QE/CI Yosemite

I tried editing plist like you've done and I had the result so I connected an external monitor. I left my lappy for some hours and I went to sleep. When it wakes up the screen was normal on my LVDS and on the external monitor, but still no QE/CI. I checked with kextstat and the HDGraphics5000 and AzulFramebuffer were loaded so it's strange that QE/CI doesn't work. Moreover, I found something stranger. I got an Optimus laptop (see signature) and so I use a patched DSDT to disable the NVIDIA card --> the card can't be detected by the OS. And by using kextstat I saw AppleMuxControl.kext was loaded !!!! I don't have a MBP so I don't have a GMux. This kext may only load on a MBP with a discrete graphic card, I don't even use a correct SMBIOS for GMUX !! I checked twice, this kext was not loaded on Mavericks and I use the same config. I don't really understand why this kext load and as it's graphics related, it maybe mess up with our Intel HD4600.....

    Intel HD 4600 QE/CI Yosemite

Ok, I've tried to rollback to 10.9.3 Azul and 5000 kexts and now Azul is loaded but still no qe ci :-(

    Intel HD 4600 QE/CI Yosemite

Hello I have a N550JV too. I've installed Yosemite with Clover 2696 : no QE/CI but I have my native resolution without doing anything. I only use my Mavericks DSDT patched for the Intel HD 4600. No kext are loaded for HD 4600 :-( I will try to edit the kext plist....
  15. Hi, I own an USB-CRW 2,0 from Realtek on my Asus Laptop (idProduct : 313 and idVendor : 3034) I've done all the required edits in the kext and now my card reader is detected as an Internal Card Reader but it still doesn't work. I think this is because of this message : Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured). I'd like to find a way to configure the required current in DSDT or other to make my card reader usable. If someone has some ideas, I'll try them :-) P.S. : I already have a working DSDT
