The Great Ming. Or was it Mong? Or Mung? Anyway, that bald guy who tried to get one over on Flash Gordon. Hang on, wasn't that the Mekon? Oh, no that was Dan Dare. Well, whatever.

Shinto is a japanese religion, I just started this thread as a joke...cuz its fun! heheh, I didnt get crazy specific because there would be like 40 on the list (ex: secular humanism is a form of atheism). I dunno, Im just bored and I thought this would be funny heheh, Im glad to see atheism is winning though ;)

Oh cmon, we got no votes for buddhism? Its the religion that makes the most sense...hahah (it really does though)

Well, sorry for the negativity of my first post... I re-read what I said, and it was a bit harsh, so I apologize for that. :)

If you want a sensible answer from me, I say Christianity. But I don't want to get into any arguements or anything, so .... :P

Nah, Ra is the only and true god, although the TokRa say it's not.

Ra was destroyed. :(

nah its cool, I started this thread for fun arguing...about religion heheh, nah, atheism is the faith of choice for me, its a little mesomorphic though, but its cool, changing your moral outlook on life all the time can only lead to good things, heheh but if I were to choose something, it would by far be buddhism, Prince Shiddartha is amazing hehe

Atheism is a faith. It's the faith that god doesnt exist.

Agnosticism can be more accurately defined as lack of faith.

If you're a Stargate SG-1 fan, then Buddhism (the shedding of the material form on the gaining of enlightenment) makes the most sense.

Deism is good too. Deism (if you dont know what it is) is the belief in a Creator that makes universes and then moves on. The Deistic god has no rules, and it does not speak to its creations or offer direction in any way. The All-Seeing Eye (a symbol of the burgeoning united states) is a symbol of this idea. Annuit Coeptus. It encompasses the idea that The Eye observes, and we trust that it approves of what we do (since we can never know whether it does or not).

Kinda funny, because the "God" of the founders and JHVH are so dissimilar.

This is my very personal theory about god.

To me there is something we can feel as a superior entity... we call it with thousands of different names... but in substance it's the same entity.

I believe there is a superior entity and since I'm in a Christian society, I don't dislike calling it "God".

See, I dont agree that in all cases atheism is a faith of no belief in god, its how one looks at it, I myself just dont think that the idea of a god, logically makes any sense, and I think that most things someday can be explained by science, I dont know for sure, but its what I think, but im not stupid enough or arrogent enough to say that I know the answer, when in reality, none of us, and I mean NONE of us, know the answer, all we can do is make guesses. Its just that, religion isnt really a part of my life, I dont need it to feel good about myself inside, I can do that without help, but yknow if it works for somebody, definately use it, I just dont need it personally.

again, im not trying to belittle anybody's beliefs or anything, its just fun to talk about this stuff in an open forum heheh ^_^

Well... obviously one gets into murky waters when they make a blanket statement, but... Atheism is, for the most part, a belief, unsupported by facts or evidence that God doesnt exist. It's pure belief (or faith). Neither the belief in God, nor the belief that God doesnt exist, have any form of rational proof.

Agnosticism is more centered around the answer being unknowable, therefore irrelevant.

Science is the ability to view something logicly. The universe is made up of solid, liquid, gas, protons, neutrons, electrons, photons, the list could go on. These are the essential, and basic building blocks of what everything stands on for it's substance, or existance.

The big bang theory, is just that a theory, although it 'could' have happened, we don't know, and can't prove it. There are several other theories how the universe was created, but it had to have been created. In order for it to 'exist' in the first place it had to have been created. Science states, that matter cannot be created nor destroyed, yet matter exists, therefore it must have been created at some point, and all assumptions as to the creater point to God.

Most religions call God different names according to their language. However, he is God, no matter what name your language calls him. The bible states, that he says he has many names. Most of us have 2 - 4 names depending on what we were named at birth. My name, is not the same in other languages, therefor, I have many names.

There are different stories in the Bible, and many versions, however, they all say pretty much the same thing. "God is God, and to have faith.". Faith, if you don't understand it, is the ability to "leap beyond logic", and believe reguardless. There are many profetts, many popes, and many saints. However, there is only one God, no matter which of his names you call him by.

People are always seeking the right religion. They look to different ones like Hinduism, and many seek Buddism, athiesm, and many more. Most people seek a religion because they feel God at some point, and don't know which way to turn. People feel like they are missing something, and feel like there is something more, they want to fill that hole in their life with something.

I went to church all my life. Even though my faith was there, I started to question it around the time I was in high school. After high school, at about 17, I found Jesus, and never looked back. My faith has strenghened in the past 3 years, and gets stronger as the days pass.

Yes, but who created the god, I love it when people say that the universe had to have been created, but god didnt have to be created, its really just a nice little statement that solves everything (sarcasm). Honestly though, I just think people are afraid to die, they dont like the idea of going nowhere when they die, so they generate a great little story to keep their mind at ease, a band-aid if you will, the closest thing for me to god, is thinking about the human brain and what its capable of doing, its capable of generating any scenario if somebody wants it bad enough, and honestly if anything I dont understand how christianity is logical, I mean, where were the christians before christianity, and before judaism? In fact the only reason why christianity is the way it is today is because of constantine and the council of nicea, honestly, there were hundreds of different sects of christianity that thought different things, some of the sects didnt even believe that jesus was the son of god, but constantine (emperor of rome) picked the form of christianity that suited him best and got rid of all the rest. then at the council of nicea Arius had an argument with Athensius(or something like that). Arius said that jesus was not the same as god because there was a god before jesus, and therefore jesus was inferior to god. Athensius came up with the idea of the holy trinity, and the council of religious elders voted on it, and decided that arius's way was heresy. So really the whole idea of christianiy today was all influenced by people, and had nothing to do with god, which is why im boggled why so many people take the bible literally, it really is all metaphores...I mean how can somebody live inside a whale, I mean no offense but thats just not possible.

I mean, really, though, atheism isnt faith in no god, really its not, its just "lack of belief" and I just dont believe in god, logically in my mind, it just doesnt make any sense, just because I cant explain something doesnt instantly mean it has something to do with god (thats faith), 1000 years ago people couldnt understand wind, lightening, and rain, but today we understand it quite well. We didnt understand that the earth revolved around the sun, but we figured that out, all im saying, is that we know almost nothing about the human brain, and to so quickly point to god without digging deeper is a little naieve. I think that most phenomena can be explained by logic and science someday in the future, but we just havent found the answer yet, and Im not going to assume until the answer's been found, thats just my take on it anyway, if youve made it this far, hopefully it wasnt boring as hell to read heheh. The whole reason why I dont believe in god has nothing to do with faith, or no evidence to support my beliefs, its in fact because I see no evidence to support the existance of god, all of the evidence I have seen points to a human concoction, not the existance of god, so from the evidence presented I dont agree with the conclusion of most christians or god believing people. One might put the burden of evidence on the atheist, but in reality you cant prove something DOESNT exist, especially something like god. the burden of proof is on the theist who must PROVE the existence of god, but they dont come close to proving it either, so we have a tidy little invention called faith to keep the theists believing without evidence.
