apowerr
JaS's latest DVD comes with the following release notes: Finally after much hard work and effort, repackaging / cutting driver to have the most stable release I could, along with months of hard work my version of OS X for Intel based systems is ready. This release features upgrading from the customize installation menu along with StageXNU (SSe2 SSe3 kernel thx everyone in xnu-chat for keeping older hardware alive with this great kernel) , NVKush (thx Diabolik) , chameleon (thx zef & Kabyl), SMBIOSResolver (thx Superhai), SMBIOS (thx iGuru) The whole range of Radeon HD Series drivers (thx netkas and lastExile). HDA drivers (thx Taruga) Along with the standard drivers usually found in other leopard install dvds. This release does not include any apps/mods to the UI. Also this is a OS X 10.5.4 Server (thx for the packages f41qu3 and SJobs) / Client installation dvd. Installation of Server will require a valid serial that I have not included. The base for this release was built with slipstream (thx Dense). DVD art by Realityiswhere. Thanks to everyone over at irc.osx86.hu , irc.moofspeak.net , hackint0sh.org , insanelymac , and osx86scene. Remember the point of this is to have some fun and learn a bit if we can. Also to help each other out, remember " no one left behind that can be supported" this is our motto and our creed. JaS's releases are renowned for their high quality, and no doubt this one will continue the trend. Good luck installing everyone, I know I can't wait EDIT: Got a screenshot of the Installer options, looks very complete with a plethora of drivers. Nice work! -REVENGE
WaxTrax!
ohboyohboyohboy! Good move putting the server packages on there! I know that it could have been done separately in the past, but it sure will be nice to have it all on one disc with the option to either install it or not :-) Thank you SO much JaS! :-)
Alexandru Leafa
Good job JAS your are one that made a difference! I really believe in this community and would like to help because in my country a mac is more expensive to buy than anywhere and i mean it, if u don't believe me google it and you shall be convinced. Search for a mac's price in Romania. Still i'm sorry about not donating to the cause, but i am a bit poor. Beer is cheap though here. You can find beer festivals everywhere but only 6 retailers that sell macs, i say this because there is a beerfest near where i live. Good luck to everyone with this release and may Win and X be free!

Menacie
What's the advantage of using server over retail Leopard?

Hagar
What's the advantage of using server over retail Leopard? Server is if you want a dedicated server... that only serves stuff.. If you want a desktop machine/workstation etc.. ignore the server part.
Menacie
Server is if you want a dedicated server... that only serves stuff.. Konami®
So you have a choice to install either? I think with the server version of Leopard you don't have too many programs that can run on it and by default it does not have the programs that came with the client version, I am probably wrong, but I tested the windows vista client and the server version and definitely they are different. I think I will enjoy more the client version, I will use only the server if I plan to setup a server, other than that is useless. Going back to your question, Jas said that you can install the client or the server in this DVD.
Hagar
We were discussing this just the other night.. Why do people overthink & overcomplicate things for themselves? It's very simple: If you are setting up an os x server and have a serial for it, install server. In all other cases, don't install server.
badeavasile
So It's finally here... The first hackintosh to beat the JaS hackintosh... The new JaS hackintosh (...and I won't miss this one...)
WaxTrax!
Thanks Hagar, that post is right on the money. It never ceases to amaze me how often people simply make assumptions and treat them as facts, or even take TWO SECONDS to do a google search for Leopard Server to get all of the information they could ever want! Not to mention not reading the very first post and seeing that the server install is optional.
JaS
I want to say that I am sure that altho I have put a lot of work into this there is going to be issues. with that said I will be available today to fix them and release a ppf if /when needed. unknow
Thanks Great release, Here some of the problems 1. PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse on my laptop doesn't work even if you select the PS2Fix, Solution: Connect a USB keyboard then installed "PS/2 Fix Installer for OSx86 10.5.4 By ~pcwiz" http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=117359 And it worked great! 2. Battery Meter does not show even with the fixs out there. Edit: This works for me " AppleACPIBatteryManager for Tiger and Leopard, Showing battery meter on your notebook " http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...114105&st=
santitf
Hi everybody. I try to install on a acer travelmate 290 laptop with intel 855GM chipset, centrino mobile 1,4 GHz SSEE2. The installation finish ok but in the first boot i see this message with -v mode. Anybody has an idea? Thanks
JaS
The reason most ppl don't get replies is because they select the wrong packages in the installation or don't know their own hardware well enough. I wont hold ppls hands to get this working. When I see enough issues that are real issues and not user error, I will fix them with a patch. If your system boots the dvd it will boot after the installation if you select the proper chipset driver.
bhst2
It seems it works with AMD by selecting StageXNU kernel This will not work on AMD. Just cause that kernel is in there. It does not contain the amd patch
Simba909
I don't Have this option in my bios. Plus all my raid and sata options are disabledI forgot to mention that i have a nforce4 chipset Hmm, your chipset should be supported.. Do you have a SATA or IDE HDD? Don't know about you guys, but the ALC 888 driver is not working on my MSI P45 Platinum.. Everything else works just perfect OOTB, just the sound not working. Have other people also had this problem or it is just me who have had this issue?
