What's this, HTTPS on the forums now? Nice!

One suggestion: Use an image proxy (might be one built within the forum software) for linked images, otherwise browsers may give off warnings about mixed content.

@bilbo

Please, (re)give a try

EDIT:

I discovered other forums like that, I swore to have already made changes but hey, if a admin/supervisor is behind, it means that they do not like, so I could not do anything, sorry. :(

Great.. it works!!! I think now it's much better. And with page index at the top again. I think it looks like perfect... thanks!!

Whenever or IF a dark theme becomes available, I'll be the first to try it. :D

I noticed some improvements in page loading times. Nice!

I still can't log in using Tapatalk, but I assume you guys already know about it. :)

Although I'm personally not a big fan of inverted colors, I do like dark themes, too.  And since the forum supports theming (you can check out the default one at the bottom of the page, to compare), I see no reason why we couldn't add a dark theme in the future. The important thing is that the forum is back. :) Things like that (themes and extras) can be added in the future, if the forum administration agrees to do it.

If you're a fan of dark themes, try the inverted colors feature. The images, smilies are not inverted.

Well, a global setting for the entire system is not quite what I had in mind. Since I already have dark wallpapers and other dark themed sites, which will suddenly become white if I choose this setting. So...although it's definitely an idea, and I thank you very much for that, I'd personally prefer an actual dark theme.:P :D But it's an interesting idea to take into account. So thank you very much for that. :)

And strikethrough has appeared as well. Awesome!  Thanks @Poco :)

If at some point we could also get Font selector, and View Source/BBCode, then I think that would be everything important that's missing.

(There's also Superscript and Subscript, but I think I can count the number of times I have needed that in my forum lifetime on one hand :)  But I guess there's no harm having in the editor if it's not too much work to add.)

InsanelyMac Dark Knight

Based on the green color of the text in the theme I bet The Dark Knight had a brush of the Joker's gas :D

Nice theme by the way except for the orange and green text coloring in my view :)

Don't mind me... Just like full width on this style :P Awesome work you are doing there Poco.

My theme doesn't go full width, how did you manage to get it work on your end?

Cool! I didn't think someone will actually do something about it so fast. WAW! Awesome!!!

Now, for the theme itself. It looks cool! Do you think there might be a chance to maybe replace the green text with something else? Maybe a light grey so we can still have contrast with the dark background? Or even white?

I personally like the orange on the dark background. That's just something I always liked. But the green is kinda turning me off. :)) Of course, it's just a suggestion and ONLY if you or anyone else has the time and wants to put in the effort to work on a dark theme (or this dark theme, why not) in the future. :)

Thank you very much! It's always nice to see that someone is actually reading these posts and taking into account user's feedback.

I think you can do it with CSS tweaking using Stylish plugin, for example. :)

On that note, I would actually like a bit less side "bezel", too. :D If it's not too much trouble. Not much. Just enough to see it's there, without having a landing strip in the middle.

OMG, I didn't know about that plugin! I guess I'm getting old :D I thought the CSS only could be edited on the server-side of the web sites. I'm gonna try it right away!

Thanks

I think this tool injects it into your desired website (you will see that it actually asks for a URL to be provided) before it loads. So it takes your changes and applies them there, then lets the site load normally, along with them.

If anything, I think Shaneee might be able to help you more with this. He's an awesome guy and he has a lot more experience using the tool than I do (i just started using it yesterday so...yeah). :)

Question:

Guys, is it intended to be logged out when you click News? It doesn't seem right to me. I'm logged in when I'm on the forum, but when I go to the main page (News section), I'm asked to log in again... Not sure why. Sorry if this has been reported before. I hope I didn't miss it.

File uploads still seem to be partially broken. I just tried to upload a zipped 4.5 MB IOReg file, and it failed with error -200 and a upload failed message but it did work fine with a 100 KB zip file and a 1.5 MB zip file but not the 4.5 MB zip file.

Thank you  ^_^

I did it with Stylish plugin. For the body background, I used the background color of the current theme's navbar (news, forums, members....) which is #2d363c

If your background has a too strong color, a feeling of heaviness may emerge. Do not forget that the colors speak for you. They arouse the visitors emotions.

Off-topic:

Spoiler

CSS, like HTML and (most use of) JS is client-side
The browser (which runs on your device) deals with them, not the server.

You guys are making great progress! The website loads fast, the theme looks good and I really like all the new features. Awesome job!
Just one little report though: When I visit the "News" page it ocassionally says that i'm not logged in

One more request/feedback for our tireless admins.. :)

Since the upgrade, the editor now uses double-spaced lines.  So every time you hit enter, it looks like the next line is a new paragraph.

This is generally not too bad - it saves having to add in blank lines for paragraph breaks.  But for some purposes it makes content look much longer/more spaced out than is desirable.

Two examples:

1) My signature; it only looks like it does now because it was inherited from before the upgrade.  If I try to edit it now, there will be big gaps between every line and it looks really awful - far too long for the content included.

Here's an example of what it looks like if I edit it now:

Spoiler

qKpYdA0m.png

2) Yesterday I was making a post where I wanted to give some test results.  I wanted to clearly label each test, giving all the parameters of what I tested.  With double-spaced lines, it doesn't look great:

Spoiler

kcbIejQm.png

It takes up so much space, far more than is needed for this purpose.

My request:

Either go back to the pre-upgrade editor mode, which always used single-spaced lines (a blank line can be added manually where extra spacing is wanted),  or else configure the editor to allow this to be optional.  Maybe double-space is the default, but the user can select single space if desired.

However I have looked through some BBCode guides and I can't see any BBCode that controls single/double spacing, so I fear it may be something that can only be configured globally by the admin.

Personally I think it would be better to have the default be single-space, as this still allows the user to manually double-space it (with extra blank lines) if they want.  But if the default is double-space, there is no way for the user to use single space instead if they want to.

Thanks!
