In addition to Colonel's article, "Juicy 10.5.2 Goodness," I have come across some pictures of how the 10.5.2 Dock works. And yes, it can behave the same way as 10.4 Tiger. :) The update apparently weighs in at about 350MB and is supposed to be released the same day as MacWorld on January 15th.

Yes, I would tend to agree with you! :(

On topic, this is very good news, especially considering I could do this in the beta build that I had tested, and then couldn't do it in the final... I think we'll see a great deal of improvements in 10.5.2!

And hopefully we'll see a smaller MBP with it...

I hope you mean more than just getting the "list" view back.

I want the dock to work exactly the same way it does in Tiger: one click to open a folder in finder and hold-click for the dock view to come up.

Eh... "the same way as 10.4 Tiger" isn't the most thought-out choice of words. Leopard and Tiger's docks are two totally different beasts. Plain and simple: The Leopard dock now has a list view option. Unlike in Tiger, I'm pretty sure that it's accessed via a left-click as the grid/fan view currently does.

Honestly, I have no idea why this one aspect of 10.5.2 is getting so much attention. It's really not a breakthrough, by far, and there are a whole slew of other notable improvements coming in 10.5.2.

- Core programs, such as Quicklook, iCal, the Dock, Time Machine, etc. will be faster and less buggy.

- 802.11n will be more reliable and Airport in general will have bugs squashed

- Rosetta will see even more advancements for seamlessly executing PPC code

- Printer services and drivers will be much more reliable

- New video card drivers for ATi and Nvidia's latest cards will likely be added, following Macworld hardware announcements
