Hacked OSx86 Updated to 10.4.3

Swad

We've received reports that the rather creative OSx86 hacking community has created another release, this time to update existing 10.4.1 installations to many of the new features introduced in 10.4.3. Sources indicate that the new security features implemented in 10.4.3 have prevented a full release and that this update is in lieu of that release.

Check out the front page for the full story.

Just thought I'd let everyone know I have finally built a 10.4.3 Install DVD that installs, and completes, my problem is now on the reboot and how the new kernel (TPM) works. I think it firstly detects that I have a P4D and complains there is no driver for it. And it seems the that last post with that new patent just might be part of it, since it complains about some code object change. I can post the boot log but I'm not sure about the Legality of it for this site, could someone let me know? Also I have two installs so I'm gonna try and mod it by hand and see if I can get it to boot, if so I should be able to create an install dvd for it without any problems. Let me know if anyone is working on the TPM + 10.4.3 kernel yet.

EDIT: I is something in ACPI kext for sure, I get an error like

Unable to find driver for this platform: "ADP2,1".

And it's in reference to ACPIPlatform and 0xc0321d0b

I found reference to ADP2,1 in the ACPIPlatform kext, and there are no VEN DEV ids in any of the Info.plists, so it must be in the code, anyone know if the ACPI kext is open sourced in OD?

transmac wont allow you to write to a dmg (read-only)

Ummm... what version are you running? Because 7.2 reads and writes HFS+ DMGs with no problem. It even makes blank DMGs. I'm currently using one to transfer data back and forth between Windows and OS X since I can't get Maxxuss' networking patch to work in VMWare.

ABSTRACT

A system and method for creating tamper-resistant code are described herein. In one embodiment, the method comprises receiving a first object code block. The method also comprises translating the first object code block into a second code block, wherein the translating includes applying taper-resistance techniques to the first object code block or the second object code block. The method also comprises executing the second object code block.

Finally dared to try the 10.4.3 user-land update. Now Safari works native with flash and java whereas before it worked native with java and in Rosetta with flash. Solved the Deer Park crashing with the adding of "swf" to Adblock (thanks to the person who supplied that tip). Java and flash didn't work in Deer Park before so no loss there. The update did solve a crashing problem I had (Apple bsod) when using Spotlight and my xbench cpu score went from around 20 to more than 60 so speed has improved considerably (snappier system). Everything else (hardware and software) already worked and continues to work.

Did any of you managed to get Intel Flash work on CoreImage and QE Enabled machine? If so, would you mind telling your computer configuration especially the display adaptor being used.

I've got a notebook computer with GMA900. the flash (10.4.3) works fine as well as the quicktime. I've got quicktime preview in itune, too.

However, after I loaded the AppleIntel915.kext to enable QE/CI, the flash didn't work anymore. It just being blank or loaded with cached graphics. Running in Rosetta hang the machine....... just wonder if it is the problem of the graphics driver or not.

Hey, I'm trying to use that 10.4.3 updater, but it just hangs on the Select A Destination screen :D the spinner is just spinning, but it doesn't finish and doesn't let me select a drive to update. Any ideas?? I haven't made any changes to the system, just installed using the Generic DVD disk thingy....

Seems very unlikely that you have done this with the REAL 10.4.3 DVD as you would have to hack the kernel and Rosetta which is no minor task. Do you mean you added the updated files from the 10.4.3 update to the 10.4.1 DVD?

No I hacked the 10.4.3 Installer, I'm very handy with it. But you right I used the old kernel to get it to work, but this is the 10.4.3 Installer. That error is after the first reboot, I've done a little poking around, and since this happens in sync with the grey screen I assume it's kernel related at this point. As the 10.4.3 Installer is 100% 10.4.3 (I haven't messed with the pkgs yet) it's the 10.4.3 Kernel, (I've tried switching it out and it didn't help).

For it to install you'd have to have a hacked Rosetta. It's easy enough to install via the method I described using the already installed 10.4.1 but booting straight from the DVD will leave you hanging at the blue screen.

I can send you what I have but I'm telling you this is a 10.4.3 installer DVD that works. but since 10.4.3 isn't cracked yet I can't get any further. It also has my updated mkext that allows us 945g guys to install direct to an SATA drive as well.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean it shows up with the installer screen and you can select the drive to install to and blah blah. Obviously that isn't what you mean so I'm unsure of what you mean by a working installer. The only way that it worked is by opening OSInstall.mpkg from the DVD when booted up in 10.4.1.

Holly {censored}, Yes that is what I mean. I boot the disc that I made for 10.4.3, then I select my drive and pkgs then I install. Then it reboots, but fails since it installs the 10.4.3 kernel which isn't cracked only my instlal dvd is.

Don't mean to be getting upset but it's like the third post that I say the same thing. Yes it's true I have a true 10.4.3 install. But 10.4.3 isn't cracked so I can't finish the install where it asks for my name and time zone and such yet. But I'm working on it.

I was under the impression that the 10.4.3 mkext already includes an updated plist in AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext for ICH7 ?

Of course a couple of other kexts need editing/adding but not this one?

I haven't been able to test this yet but it could very well be, But in order to get the Install DVD to work I had to nuke the orig mkext as they are doind something with ACPI to detect to system or something. I don't claim to fully understand what they are doing or I've a working system :D But I do think it's the first kext to load and then bails.

But what you're not understanding is that to do that then everything already has to be cracked. There'd be no rebooting or anything. Rosetta would have to be hacked and that is no minor task. Boot it up in VMWare and provide screenshots as this is EXTREMELY unlikely. Rosetta is what allows ATSServer to run and without it no text or forms will be rendered. That means that to get that far the kernel would already have to be the hacked one so there wouldn't be rebooting anyway...

I second that.

It is good work @theSin, but it is useless, until you'll be able to use the 10.4.3 kernel. Otherwise no new driver

will run.

What you did, is kinda running Windows 98, but with the XP mediapack. You maybe get some goodies, but you'll still

have Win98.

Not the way I did it, honestly I can send you a copy if you don't believe me. I'm telling you I have a 10.4.3 Install DVD that works, boots, installs, just doesn't run after cause I have not cracked anything just used a cheap work around.

it is installs all of 10.4.3, it will be 10.4.3 complet, exccept 10.4.3 still needs to be cracked so I can finish my mods on the install disc. But if it will help ppl crack it faster I can post it someplace.
