Current OS X Version: 10.5.5 (iATKOS_5i)

Laptop

Prebuilt: Y

Manufacturer: Dell

Model: XPS M1710

Install Methods summary:

1) Disable multi core in the BIOS or use cpus=1 as a boot option (this will be fixed post install)

2) Go into disk utility and create a Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with a GUID partition table.

3) Customise and select: PCI EFI V9, AppleDecrypt, SMBIOS-EFI Air, x86 ACPI, Remove power management, OHR, Remove thermal kexts, Nvinject Go (see notes to find it), Intel SATA, Intel speedstep a and laptop battery.

Known issues: Graphics hardware acceleration does not appear to work reliably (see below for details)

Does EFI and/or the Vanilla kernel work? Vanilla kernel used

Motherboard

Manufacturer: Dell

Motherboard Model: Unknown

Chipset: Unknown

BIOS Version: Unknown , Revision: Unknown

BIOS setup options: Disable multi core or use cpus=1 option when booting pre-patch

Audio: Sigmatel 9200. Needs patch. Follow: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showpost.p...amp;postcount=6 but instead of using dump 9250, use dump Sigmatel9200.txt which you can get here http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/sigmatel/

LAN: (VendorID: pci14e4, DeviceID: 1600) BCM5752. Needs driver (See Insanely mac: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...4987&st=560 Post #584)

SATA & IDE: SATA, tick Intel SATA during the installation.

Processor

Processor Model: Core 2 DUO

Speed: 2.33

Recognized as what in System Profiler: 2.33 Intel Core 2 Duo (after patching)

Notes: To get Dual core support you must apply a kernel patch. You must know which kernel version you have in order to get the correct patch. Use the "hostinfo" command in terminal to find out. For the patch download link see:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=833339

For instructions on applying the patch see:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/i...php/t11890.html

After all that, you should probably also add the tscsync command into apple boot (/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist) under Kernel Flags

Video Card

Integrated

NVIDIA

Model: Geforce GO 7950GTX

Memory: 512

Board Manufacturer: Unknown

Patches used: Nvinject for GO 512MB mobile cards

QE/CI: Not out of the box, needs patch:

Note: I did not find this to be 100% reliable and it would not work at all with a secondary DVI display + crashed on reboot with a secondary VGA display):

Manual nVidia installation, Guide for all nVidia boards (followed the top and section for Geforce 7000 series). If you have a Geforce 7950 Go GTX you can use "0x029710DE" as the device ID.

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=111072

If you have a Geforce 7950 Go GTX you can use my NVCAP value which is:

(Recommended: Use this if you are using property list editor)

04000000 00001900 02000000 00000007 00000000

or as base64 (use if you are editing with a normal text editor):

BAAAAAAA GQACAAAA AAAABwAA AAA=

Details about NVCAP if you have a different graphics card

Otherwise either see

a) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=103549

or

:) (Easier) Getting NVCAP by dumping your graphics cards ROM

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=753771

Notes: You have to run the nvflash utility from DOS so its probably easiest to either boot off a USB stick or use something like Hirens boot CD and then load the USB drivers to access all of your tools.

All resolutions available? Yes + can use an external display (providing you don't patch i.e. no QE/CI).

Other PCI/PCI-e Components (USB are listed in Other Accessories below)

Wireless/Wired Card

Interface: Integrated

Standard (Wireless only): 8021g

Hi,

I have instaled MAC OS X 10.5.2 on my intel PC and everything is working except for 1 thing and that is the 'Boot Camp Assistant'. When I open it, an error message is displayed 'Aplication not supported in this Architecture'. Is there a way to get it in working condition?

Current OS X Version: 10.5.2

Desktop

Prebuilt? (N)

Install Methods summary: (List all methods tested, check preferred method - the one you are writing about now)

Method 1: Kalyway 10.5.1 Install and Kalyway 10.5.2 updater (using instructions found on InsanelyMac). I didn't select any of the optional installs and instead loaded the installers and kexts manually afterwards (see method 2 for links to audio and video fixes).

Method 2 (preferred): Retail Install Mac OS X disc using "modified boot-132 (found here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jzznndt2vki), instructions (found here: http://menoob.com/2008/09/04/hackintosh-in...l-dvd-on-a-pc/), Chameleon for Hard Disk (found here: http://tinyurl.com/6je4eh), fix for onboard graphics (found here: http://flibblesan.co.uk/files/mac/GMA900%20Pack%20r2.zip), and onboard audio fix (alc883 installer found on Kalyway 5.1 install disc).

Does EFI and/or the Vanilla kernel work? (example: partitioned as MBR, EFI v8 + Vanilla Kernel)

With Kalyway, I used both MBR and GUID partitions.

Current OS X Version: 10.5.6 Ideneb 1.4

Desktop: Yes

Prebuilt: No

Install Methods summary: (List all methods tested, check preferred method - the one you are writing about now)

Ideneb 10.5.6 Install. Booted from Serial ATA DVD drive and install onto a single Serial ATA HDD

Does EFI and/or the Vanilla kernel work? (example: partitioned as MBR, EFI v8 + Vanilla Kernel)

Vanilla kernel works ( I selected no particular kernel, so it used the Vanilla kernel). Dunno really about EFI / MBR? Just used a blank HDD which I formatted with the OSX installer. So only one OSX partition

Computer parts and specifications

Motherboard manufacturer: ASUS

Motherboard Model: P5Q Pro

Chipset:

+Northbridge: unknown

+Southbridge: Intel ICH10

BIOS Version: Patched Bios 1613 - 1613_BIOS_Asus_P5Q_PRO_for_MAC_OS_X___all_OS__incl._by_Juzzi..ROM

BIOS setup options: Serial ATA set to AHCI

Video: Works fully. I selected HD3800 series in Ideneb 1.4 install setup. I have a Radeon 3870

Audio: Works. I selected ALC1200 audio codec in Ideneb 1.4 install setup. Be sure to check after install audio is not

set to headphones.

LAN: Didn't work out of the box and I didn't try to fix since I read nobody got it working yet. Instead I installed an old PCI Ethernet Card: 3com 3c905c - TXM. OSX 10.5.6 doesnt recognize this card by default, but DOES have the correct files in IONetWorkingFamily.kext Do the following: open IONetWorkingFamily.kext on windows (you'll see its just a folder with subfolders) goto Contents --> Plugins --> Apple3Com3C90x.kext --> Contents --> and open info.plist with wordpad. Scroll down about halfway till you see something like '<>key PCI 3C90X </key> (notice this is the Ethernet Card identifier) In this section look for <string> 0x900010b7 0x905010b7 etc. </string> Now you have to add the correct string for the 3Com 3c905 ethernet card. It's string is 0x920010b7 Just add this one and save the file. Copy IONetWorkingFamily.kext (not just the info.plist file!) back to your OSX install and use Kexthelper to install the kext again. You can also use OSX86 tools for this and also clear the kext cache (so OSX doesnt copy back the original file next boot) p.s Maybe other Ethernet Cards can get to work this way: check the folders in the .kext. Device ID's can be found with OSX86tools. It shows them a bit differen: For example: 10b7:9200 should be saved in the info.plist file as 0x920010b17 (notice the two groups of characters are switched!)

SATA & IDE: Works out of the box? Serial ATA works. IDE: Does NOT work out of the box and didn't try to get it working

Processor

Processor Model: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9550

Speed: 2.8 GHz but overclocked to 3,4

Recognized as what in System Profiler: Recognized correctly, 4 cores used

Video Card (if you have integrated and PCI/AGP, use this template twice)

What type of card (PCI Express/AGP/Integrated): PCI express

NVIDIA/ATI/Intel? Ati

Model: Radeon HD3870

Memory: 512MB

Board Manufacturer: Sapphire

Patches used: No patches, just selected Radeon 3800 series at Ideneb 1.4 10.5.6 install procedure

All resolutions available? Yes, and dual screen works (test with 2x Dell 24 Inch at 1920x1200)

Other notes

All OS and program updates via Software Update (as of 16 feb. 2009) work OK. There's one wrong update: It shows a firmware update for a Radeon HD2600, but I didnt install that ofcourse. Furthermore the system wont completely shut down (and doesn't restart correctly) A bit inconvenient, but it appears to close OSX ok but just doesnt restart. So i press the reset / power button.
