  1. Where to get and how do I install old free apps for the iPhone 3G? I just inherited an iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2, and want to install older apps on it. Apple doesn't offer a lot of the older versions of apps I can use anymore. For example, I own "Find My iPhone v.2.0" but want 1.4 because the newer one doesn't work on my phone. What are the workarounds? How can I get v.1.4 to install on my phone? I found v.1.4 online, but it won't load on my phone due to the appleID being incorrect.
  2. That's odd. On mine, it worked right off, and it works on my iMac. Using the sae terminal command, it worked on my vanilla install of 10.5 on my ASUS MoBo. Maybe, I should have it write it to the plist if it doesn't exist there? But then again, if it's not there, maybe there was a reason for it.
  3. MagicDesktopSwitch 1.1

Woot woot! Thanks. Does it work as a login item still too? I'll also be updating it with a few new features pretty soon.
  4. Why would that not be on your hackintosh (out of curiosity)? was it the method of install or a conflict?
  5. Thanks for checking it. Can anyone else verify this? I'm running 10.6.8 on my Gigabyte machine, and it works there, and on my client's iMac also running 10.6.8.
  6. MagicDesktopSwitch 1.1

Could someone please verify that this app works in OS X.7 Lion? I am still at 10.6.8. Thanks in advance. Also, if someone could verify the ShowHideSwitch and SHSwitch-SL (download for a limited time for free from my Website), I'd be appreciative.
  7. MagicDesktopSwitch 1.1

MagicDesktopSwitch animates your desktop! This popular Mac app takes your current screensaver and uses it as your desktop background! Having flurry float around behind your icons, a little puppy crawling around, fish swimming, water effects, the news, etc is about as cool as it gets. If you put this in your login items, it will start up upon login. It's Hackintosh friendly and is running smoothly on my Gigabyte MoBo i3 2100 Hackintosh right now. It's donation-ware, meaning that if you like it, donate a dollar or two. It's ad-free, and fully functional upon install. Go here to download it (or check out demos on youtube). http://joey.mimweddings.com/Downloads.html also, on the same page is a great show-hidden-files app.
  8. It always bugged me that "Hide" would be a dialog-box button when hidden files were already hidden – and "Show" would still be an option when the hidden files were already visible. I think every show/hide app I looked for online uses that method. Sometimes I don't want a dialog box at all. So, I created the new show/hide apps (ShowHideSwitch and SHSwitch-SL) to give me peace of mind. ShowHideSwitch has a short dialog box with two buttons, and runs the ever-popular terminal command: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles "TRUE" followed by killall Finder. The SL version is included in the same download. when opened, SHSwitch-SL determines whether hidden files are showing or are hidden, and then toggles the visibility without a dialog box – and does it with lightning speed. Visit my downloads page to get a copy for your OS X tools. http://joey.mimweddings.com/Downloads.html Also check out my other app MagicDesktopSwitch. It's more eye-candy fun. Let me know what you think.

  10. Wake up from USB Keyboard/Mouse?

Thanks. After I click the mouse or keyboard, the computer seems to wake up - just with no video. I just installed another video driver. I'll let you know how it goes.
  11. Kernel panic on Kalyway install (P5GL-MX)

I had a similar problem. I think it's still a bios setup issue. Probably some setting dealing with your sata stuff. I was using all p-ata and had some settings set to sata features. I had to compare my bios with this one here and adjusted mine to sort of match. Then I disabled some of the sata stuff.
  12. Error in boot

I got it to work with Kalyway. I used the MBR partition setup with 1 partition and named it osx. I checked the vanilla kernel and the EFI only (no sound, video, or network). I adjusted my bios so that everything was set for ide that could be. Then... I prayed and begged God to help me. It worked!! Now I just need to find some alternative drivers.
  13. GUID vs. MBR for seperate OSX HDD

Same problem here. Please let me know if you found a solution. Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 80GB HDD IDE (where OSX is installed) DVD writer IDE MSI nvidea 8500GT
  14. Error in boot

Let me know what works for you. I get the same error. ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 2 GB 6400 NVidia 8500GT 2.2 Core2Duo Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD
  15. I solved the problem by wiping the entire HD in DiskUtility and formatting the entire thing in HFS+ (extended), then, I was able to use DiskUtil again to successfully create new partitions for the install.
