SPL15
First Post and from My 95% working Hackle. Thank you to all the people generous enough with their time to make this possible to those without the skills. Kalyway 10.5.2 CPU: Intel Q6600 Overclocked to 3.7Ghz Motherboard: DFI Lanparty UT P35-T2R (Details Below on Compatibility) P35 Chipset ICH9R Memory: 4GB (2x2GB DDR1066) Graphics Processor: EVGA nVidia 8800GTX V'Modded BIOS OC'd to 725Mhz GPU, 1720 Mhz Shader, 1100DDR Mem Sound: ALC885 (onboard Audio Works with AppleHDApatcher ver 1.20 with ALC885 Code dump Ethernet: Marvell 88E8053 (onboard MUST use 2nd Ethernet port for OOB compatibility) Monitor: LG 56" DLP HDTV 1280x720 res. (some underscan needs to be fixed) The motherboard works fine with the vanilla kernal in Kalyway 10.5.2. However, the ONLY issue is Audio which is easily patched and the shut down, restart, sleep. osX shuts down and exits and turns off all the hardware & peripherals, but does not shut down completely or doesnt reboot or it sleeps fully but does not wake. Also, the fan's do not respond to the BIOS temperature settings so I set them on high to be safe. I use watercooling so not a big deal for me, but others will need to work around this. Graphics work perfect. CI & QE work fully, no tearing or other weird artifacts. I'm 100% new to apple operating systems. I'm certified in many microsoft certification programs and a pro at anything microsoft and programming, but never had an interest in osX due to the liberal hype behind the company. I've been messing around and learning the commands in terminal and so far I can say I will probably buy a real Mac in the future and i'm glad I gave osX a chance. I wouldnt say osX is better than Vista or the other way around, just different and they focus in on different aspects of useability. Apple seams more focused on content creation type of work, Microsoft more productivity & entertainment & gaming of course. Hmm... Left brain Apple, Right brain Microsoft I say, they both have a place in strengths none is better than the other in total though. Just my opinion though. -King-
Maybe Someone Can give me a hand here, I have used Kalyway 10.5.2 upgraded to 10.5.3, and then to 10.5.5 now im trying Ideneb 10.5.5, but i cant find the cause of my problem. I can install both with ease, but the problem im having is that when i try and run applications such as Parallels or VMware Fusion or Crossover, i constantly get Hard Resets, every once in awhile something else will give them to me, and im looking to find what i can do to fix the issue, below are my specs, any insight would be great. please let me know what i could be missing.
