knuckles
Ok I reinstalled my system and the boot problem is resolved, maybe it came from my precedent Windows Seven installation and the fact that I have just created a partition for Mac Os. By repartitioning my entire drive, it works perfectly! My only problem now is the shutdown/restart problem, but it seems unsolvable Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86600-install-guide-for-dell-latitude-d630-and-d830/page/32/#findComment-1086609 Share on other sites
appear
Dell D830 running iPC 10.5.4 (6) So after a bit of reading I unistalled the Injectors with OSX Tools, installed the 9f23 package, installed NVKush and enabled Quartz with OSX Tools, the result: I wonder how to unistalled the Injectors with OSX Tools? And what is "9f23 package"? Thanks. It's a D630 with NVS135. I installed iAtkos 5i fresh, then applied the 10.5.6 update straight from Apple as soon as I got the Ethernet working. Once I rebooted and everything looked fine, I re-applied the Kexts for everything else, and it's working as it should now. How to get the Ethernet work? Thanks in advance. ashman1970
After being able to attempt to install Leo, iAtkos and Kalaway on my Dell D630, for some reason now I get nothing but kernel panic's every time I try to reinstall, I must have booted my laptop up over 100 times now with different distros and -v switches, same result, kernel panic every time. Can someone please suggest something I haven't tried to fix it? I am starting to think I have a hardware problem with my laptop now since the kernel panics are so consistent. I even left the laptop over night, no change. iFranky
don't know how to fix it, but if nothing works, you can put the HDD into another laptop and install it from there, like me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86600-install-guide-for-dell-latitude-d630-and-d830/page/32/#findComment-1088542 Share on other sites

I think I remember reading about this somewhere before, it just occurred to me today. Hope this helps someone else. iFranky
Sorry, don't know, its very strange. I had this error, too, for hundreds of times. But now, I installed iPC 10.5.6 with the first try, without boot flags or Bios settings (SATA Operation = ATA) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86600-install-guide-for-dell-latitude-d630-and-d830/page/32/#findComment-1088625 Share on other sites

forehand1
I have installed retail 10.5.6 on D830 with NVS135 1920x1200 everything is perfect but wired ethernet and sound. I spent three days trying to solve this issue. I found several methods how to but none was right one for me. Has anyone any knowledge how to solve sound problems with D830. bcolumbia
Does the it really take over 15 mins to load into the boot. I pressed f8 upon countdown then after boot: i typed vanilla and hit enter and then it booted from dvd... it's been on a booting screen for 15 mins "a while" is 5 mins to some and an hour to others. What should I expect on my D630? Well googled it some more got the stopped at "IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 0:23" so i typed in -v cpus=2 and it got farther specifically - darwin kernel version 9.2.0: Sun ... timn
There is no need for a new guide, just patience. iPC 10.5.6 will boot, it may take you 100+ tries but it WILL eventually boot. If however there is that big of a demand I can start work on a fresh install guide. This is true. I just did this today, and it took me about 50 tries to get it to work!!!!!!!! Might want to try reformatting your drive if it doesn't work after awhile, though. I was able to get it to boot from CD two times in a row after reformatting. This is with the -v setting on a d630. knuckles
The touchpad is a real problem with the D630. If you use FFScroll you can tap for a click, but the comfort isn't good at all. If you don't, you have a good comfort, with a smooth mouse, but you can tap to click! Which of the two solutions do you use? If you don't, you have a good comfort, with a smooth mouse, but you can tap to click! Which of the two solutions do you use? I quote myself to help someone who has the same question as me : The best thing to do is to get the Plist file given by achtung in this topic and to use it with ffscroll. The two scroll zones are perfectly configured. The last thing I have to do is to make my dual display work, and it apperas to be hard. I downloaded nvkush and tried the nvcap given on this topic, but that doesn't work. When I detect displays, the two screens (laptop and external monitor) get dark.. Someone can give me a tip for this one?
