I have an HP Dv5T and have everything up and working except for wireless. The 9600m gt is working sound is working, lan is working, just no wireless. Any help would be awesome! THey use intel processor, chipset, gfx at times, but why not wifi? Just to avoid being called a "Centrino Mac"? Sometimes I doubt apple's judgement. mercurysquad Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 Quick heads-up: Don't lose hope I didn't want to make any announcement yet but given the sentiment in this thread let me state: I have begun writing the drivers for Intel 2200 (that's the card I have and compatible with 2915abg), and will follow it with 3945 when I can procure one. No concrete time frame, but the 2200 alpha/beta won't be out before mid-Jan, 3945 not before Feb. Sooner or later depending on how it pans out. It will be Airport compatible. This is NOT a continuation of iwidarwin so please don't ask me about it. I am also NOT looking for any help with testing or coding at the moment. Any other developers who might be working on it, I advise you to start with 4965 as it is newer, and unlikely that I will write anything for that card, at least not until we get 3945 off the ground. So if 4965 dev goes in parallel with 2200/2915/3945, we could have all drivers out at about the same time and avoid duplicating effort. vjkevlar Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 When I 1st Attempted to install osx86 on my Dell XPS m1210 with the 3945 Intel Card using I believe Kalyway 10.5.2 version default options (Im not 100% sure because since then ive also tried installing IAtkos and JAs 10.5.4).. but anyway on this 1st attempt, my wireless came up perfectly and operated perfectly on the 1st complete boot, including using osx's AIRPORT network preferences. At the time, i was just experimenting and my sound, my video resolution, etc. wasnt working properly. I thought I would try a different osx86 install thinking it would fix the other issues. I didnt realize there were patches for the other items and since then i havent been able to get the wireless working again! Ive tried several install discs since then trying to recreate the wireless function but no go! Any ideas why it worked the 1st time? Ive cleared my OSX partition and started over several times and im wondering what options i may have chosen but dont remember to get it to work but i believe its possible somehow because I saw it! I remember browsing in Safari right after installing OSX86 but..never again unless im on Wired internet. Ideas? Could it have been a state my card was in or perhaps a BIOS setting i switched trying to get it to work? Hi I am a devel here, and starving to get my wifi back, just killed my vista yesterday. I now connect internet through my iphone wifi, it is fun but it is ridiculously slow. I just checked out the iwi and read through the code, not very easy but I think I can dedicate myself to create 3945. The problem is this is my first time on writing driver, especially for mac. Could you provide some document or guidance on driver development and airport API? I have the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG wifi adapter so i obviously can't use that. I also don't have the option of using a wired connection. So what else can i try?
