mac_cute
Thanks for the language pack, it worked. If I now get my X1600 and mybe PS/2 support I would be really happy. Â About the PS/2 support, I extract the kexts from the disc, replace them, and it works. I do not know if this is your problem <_> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/65/#findComment-570620 Share on other sites
naquaada
chung1107: look here! Â Could anyone explain the -f -x -legacy options please? I can boot without the -legacy flag on my Athlon 64 3700+ Socket 939, I'm using platform=ACPI as on 10.4.7. Â Another question: Would it be a good idea to install Leopard on an SSE2/AGP X1600 system or it is too slow? How about the AGP support? Â GreetinX from the Other Side! As far as AGP support, i have a 7600 GS 512mb AGP vid card and have no problems. zarac
As far as AGP support, i have a 7600 GS 512mb AGP vid card and have no problems. do you have agp bus enabled? Â if yes, would you please say what version of AGPGart.kext you are using. i haven't been able to activate agp bus on my machine in leo while it works nicely in tiger. could you run some xbench tests with and without AGPGart loaded to see if it really boosts performance. also, what is your motherboard chipset? Â so far, there has been no reports of agp bus working with acceleration in leo. slice has been trying hard to build a working driver with some success, but only with ati cards (topic link). sadwitch
Hi Zephroth! thanks for the wonderful installer...it boths without QE/CI but after installing NVinject and amending the DEV ID in the kext, i manage to get full QE/CI... Only problem is the interenet keeps hanging when i try to download big files. I tried booting with cpus=1 and it seems to stop the internet problem.  I tried iLife on it but i encounter problems with iPhoto.  Is there a fix for this installer available or do we have to wait until the next release? thanks   My rig: AMD Athlon 3800+ X2 2GB RAM MSI K8N NEO4-FI ASUS EN7900GT TOP 256MB (0x029110de) 320GB IDE HDD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/65/#findComment-570952 Share on other sites
JoeTheWise
I tried iLife on it but i encounter problems with iPhoto.I am able of running iLife and iWork on Zephiroth release (also MS Office for Mac...).You need CI/QE for some applications (and you have it), I think you can try updating the applications from Apple Update (remember only the applications and not the security update if you don't want to mess all the system...) and then using Marvin's Utility for decrypths and patching CPU-IDs. In my case it worked very well.  Good news for a lot of people: Apple has just introduced the new MacPro's that officially supports AMD HD 2600 XT, Quadro FX 5600 AND NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GT 512 MB!!! I think the new 10.5.2 update is nearly just around the corner... locus
For Leo:1. hdiutil attach /"Your ISO File" -readwrite 2. rm -rf /"Your ISO File"/System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleNForceATA.kext 3. cp -rp /path/to/new/AppleNForceATA.kext /"Your ISO File"/System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns 4. chown -R root:wheel /"Your ISO File"/System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleNForceATA.kext 5. chmod -R 755 /"Your ISO File"/System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleNForceATA.kext  Thanks, that worked for me. That way I injected the AppleVIAATA kernel extension into the installation dvd which allowed me to install it to my SATA HD attached to my ASUS A8V Deluxe (VIA K8T800 Pro chipset) motherboard.  Unfortunately, there is still one major problem...at the end of the setup assistant where you have to enter the new username and password stuff it just hangs at "Creating your account". Anyone know what the problem could be?  Cheers. tuukka H
I have been using this now maybe one week and I have to say that this doesnt work on my amd pc. To be honest at least every app crashes. Even itunes. Â Also sharing does not work and apple remote desktop crashes everytime. Maybe only app that works is safari. Â So is it just my amd sse2 processor and asus a8n-sli dlx board or is this more common? I have read also that support for SSE2 will be available in Rev.2Hi Joe, great to know its working out for you. i manage to download the marvin's utility but is there some sort of step by step tutorial to apply the marvins patch? thanks for your helpTry reading this topic:http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=67917it's not so difficult, use the second option than execute patcher from the folder it creates on desktop in terminal mode.
