So am I ready to install it? (Please Quote-Reply)

I have to go with a "sort of" answer.

I always recommend installing Leopard Rev1 on a ATA Drive (not SATA). Also, you have to be carefull when creating partitions, as you may lose all of your data on the drive.

If you are familiar with linux, or tools like gqparted, then you could use the free space to create a blank partition. Let OSX do the formatting.

@ guzferreira: There are no PS/2 drivers available during the installation, use USB. look in here:

Thank's man, but that's not my problem, see, i solved the keyboard issue... the keyboard was asked in the previous install I made...

in the new install, the thing is: the system starts and freezes at the grey screen with mouse working, but it doesn't go any further from there.... i don't get a message or anything...

ATHLHON 64 3000+ Venice - According with CPUZ supports SSE3

1Gb DDR400

MSI NEO4-F (nforce 4)

Geforce 6500 256Mb

HD SATA Maxtor 250Gb

So, i went back to try the -v thing on boot, but a couldn't boot at all just got back to windows. So, i guess i'll have to install it again...If I get the "strange no errors stoping" (it doesn't freeze because mouse works) again, i'll come back asking for heeeeelp,

thanks for now

What happens to this posting thing? I add a new reply and it merges with my older post... urgh...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+

Gigabyte GA-M57SLI (Nforce 4, MCP 55)

ATI X1900GT (0x724b)

PATA drive

Having problems loading the installation...

I get stuck at:

Sam Errors with Sense Key = 0x03, ASC = 0x03, ASCQ = 0x00

Then

disk4s3: I/O error

Then

Kernal panic, last line with the Darwin Kernal Version, and made by TOH:xnu and so on.

I did try reburning several times, and at 2x. Also tried only having my IDE drive plugged in (unplugged my SATA drives).

Does anyone have any ideas?

HI just managed to finally get Zephy's Os x up and running somewhat got two problems.

1. Video drivers, geforce drivers were causing a panic so i got rid of them. my video card is bfg 7950gtoc 512mb

2. ps2 keyboard isnt working (using my mac's usb keyboard atm) I tried copying the ApplePS2Controller.kext from the cd and i tried using the Kext helper utility to install it. The ps2 keyboard still does not work.

My Specs

Amd x2 4200+

Mobo A8N5X

2gig ddr400

Geforce 7950gtoc 512mb

80gig hdd (mac os)

250gig hdd (windows)

use this command, for me it works

Yea i tried command while bootd from the hdd and the install dvd, still no dice. Not sure whats wrong, it works while booted on the install dvd but not on the hdd. I see it in the extensions folder on the hdd so its copied. Any ideas?

Ok solved my video card troubles with nvinject and flashing my card :P Now if only i could get my ps2 keyboard working..

Still no go...reburned it again just in case. Damn...
I was getting those sam errors before as well. It turned out that my media wasnt bad at all. I switched my dvd drive i was using to boot it with and it worked flawlessly after that. Try that if its possible, oh also dont use cable select on the dvd drive set it to master/slave.

Iam having a couple of problems with my leopard install, I am using Zephyroth's rev1 and my system is an HP tx1220 tablet pc with the following specs:

AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-64

NVidia GeForce Go 6150 128mb (dev_id 0244)

nForce 410/430 MCP

Broadcom 4321 AG 802.11 wifi (dev_id 4328)

OSX is installed onto a usb HD and the install went smoothly, I have got everything working (sound, tablet functionality, lan, remote control, usb, ect) except for a few things.

1) At startup the system halts at: "ACPI: System state [s0 S3 S4 S5] (S3)" It remains frozen at this line until I press the power button momentarily. At which point, it resumes startup. Kind of annoying.

2) For the life of me, I can not get NVidia drivers to work, I have tried Zephyroths installer with no luck, does anyone know if this card is supported? (GeForce Go 6150)

3) Now the major problem, and the only thing preventing me from using Leopard full time. My wifi seems to be working, Airport recognizes it fine, (Broadcom 4321) but I can not find any networks (tried at school and at home), It shows the "ball diamond" signal strength icon with bars greyed out. It shows the correct mac address in system profiler. It seems to be set to low power because it can not recieve transmissions. I have tried switching en0 to en1 and vice versa, I have ensured the device id is in "IO80211Family.kext" I have followed every broadcom tutorial I can find. Has anybody had a similar situation? Thanks in advance if anyone can help, I can't wait for rev2! By the way, this is by far the easiest installer I have used for OSX, Thanks Zeph and team!

well i got everything working- did a system update, then patched my install with marvins AMD utility, working fine again now, and all my apps run great!, except itunes crashes at launch (wont even open up the window)- cant find any binaries/cpuid's to patch and reinstalling it with the itunes 7.5.dmg from apple.com didnt work either.... not a huge problem but would be nice to listen to music.

Any body else have this issue?

@Kid_icarus : Have you tried the latest NVinject drivers? I'm not totally sure they support the "Go" series though. As far as your airport card goes, have you checked for any other wireless kexts that might be in there? It could be clashing with your current drivers. Have a double check, I've had that happen to me with video cards.

mburns05 : My iTunes works 100% fine. Do you have other programs open while you're attempting to use iTunes (btw, there are alternatives, google is your friend :) )

hmm, i just cant do it- im to picky, im a fan of itunes only in mac os x ( and not in windows, in windows i only use WMP11), i dont know why im just wierd that way, i dont like having more than one app to do the same thing as another..

I will get itunes to work eventually, i have four hdd's anyway

Leo, Tiger, Vista, and Ubuntu...so im good

I have that problem as well. It starts to lag for some reason. Doesn't even take a day though, happens when I run a few intensive apps, and quit.

@mburns : Have you tried cleaning out every instance of iTunes, including old preferances, and what not? You /can/ uninstall iTunes and get something else =P

I jk, but like I said, i've never heard of a problem like that. Even after CPUID patching.

Have you tried to run Onyx 1.9 on your system? Download it here, install the .pkg file, start Onyx and press the 'Automation' button. I select all points except the 'Display of folder content' marker. Run it and reboot. My system and the one of a friend were running much smoother anfter using Onyx.

Hi again... I'm f*ked up... nothing works...

I'm still stucked at the grey screen with the "beach ball" mouse cursor working...

No error messages, nothing, just the screen... :wallbash:

i don't know what to do, everything seems to be fine....

Yes. Posted a few times about it on page 17. Haven't found a solution, but have since reinstalled and not installed the system update. Itunes works perfectly with virgin install (but not update).
my itunes worked fine until update- but i tried patching and reinstalling itunes, neither one fixed the problem...Google search- duh!, why didnt i do that sooner
Did you find a solution? I still haven't.
