I am not Onetrack but since you asked me the same question via PM, I reply here. My guess is that your didn't install the EFI right. Otherwise there should be something, anything showing up on the screen. Since you were able to boot with BrazilMAC DVD before, you can boot from BrazilMAC DVD again and install the EFI to see if the problem is persistent.

But I agree with you that your test score is kind of low, especially with 8GB memory (but then again, no benchmarking program that I know of have a category of signifying score difference using that big primary or secondary memory). On my Hac Pro (see my signature) which doesn't have any tweaks, I got 146 (rounded to the nearest integer from the average score over 5 trials) last time I checked with onboard GMA 950.

P.S. For your analysis to figure out what test result is bad, I attached my Xbench v1.3 results. Each result is obtained on the same system with Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 2GB RAM, and Intel GMA 950 from 5 trials and averaged (in each category) and then rounded to the nearest integer.

I am really happy to report that abit LG-95 is identical to Gigabyte GA-945GCMX-S2 and is another perfect choice for Onetrack's guide. I convinced one of my friends who wanted Mac OS X to choose LG-95 and we installed OS X 10.5.2 (using GPT instead of MBR). Here's a few highlights on LG-95.

• ACPI functions (Sleep/Wake, Restart, Shutdown) work just like GA-945GCMX-S2.

Until recently, LG-95 was sold around 40 USD at Amazon. It's 50 USD after rebate at Newegg.

 

I think Gigabyte GA-G31MX-S2 is a good choice if you like to use Core 2 Quad processors. It's cheap (about 40 USD including S/H on eBay (I think there's a guy who's running a scam with this board. Be careful.)), it's been known to work with Mac OS X 10.5, and its audio and LAN CODECs are the same as GA-945GCMX-S2 (and hence you can follow Onetrack's guide to the letter if you never try Hackintosh before). Hope this helps.

hi, im some what new to this.....i have a old Compaq evo running a p4 1.8GHz intel....well i installed the aitkos 1.0ir2 on it and it runs fine but when i restart i get a b0 error then i have to run the dvd and tell it to restart several times (4) then OS X 10.5.1 starts up and everything else is fine and dandy.... i have flagged the partition were it was installed and it still does the same thing. is there any one out there that has had the same problem and was able to fix... if so help would be greatly appreciated

Hi I'm trying to install Brazilmac's Leopard. But when I try to boot with the DVD I get the boot.plist error. I also tried Kalyway's Leopard DVD and same error. I researched my motherboard (Abit IP35-e) and found that people were successful in installing Leopard through VMware. So I tried both Brazilmac's and Kalyway's DVD's in VMware both using DAEMON tools and a physical DVD drive. With Brazilmac's after pressing a key to start, the apple logo shows and then VMware reports a crash. With Kalyway's the apple logo shows and the little icon spins, but then a x/cross appears over the apple logo. What could this mean?? How else can I install Leopard? Can it also be that I am using 32bit Windows Vista to try to install a 64bit OS?

If it wasn't for this tutorial it would have taken me 90 installs to get OSX working (instead it took 31...). I can't find the sound drivers for my comp so I'm just going to get a USB headset. Heck now i have directed all my friends that can't get OS X to work to come to this thread. Thanks for all you help. I'm off to play with iDVD and Garageband.

I've installed Kallaway 10.5.1 (system installed, computer reboot).

I've Core Duo - it has SSE3.

 

System starting.... video with "welcome" in a few language sppear - i can't stop it. Text go out and I can chose country, keyboard and import data from old mac. I chose to import nothing and press Continue.. system is thinkig.. the video "welcome" appear and everything starts AGAIN (

 

Can someone help me???

My eyesight is not good and I cannot take the VGA anymore. I'd like to have a DVI output but the motherboard doesn't have one. Would you recommend any good graphics card for Leopard Hackintosh? I don't do games. It would be nice if it's an nvidia 8000 series but then it is not supported yet as far as I know. If the power consumption for this card is low, that's super. It can take up to 300W.

I have been reading up and understand that putting together a Hackintosh has been revolutionized by the relatively newly developed EFI emulator. Now that it is actually possible to buy an EFI motherboard from Intel has anybody tried building a Hackintosh using one of the new EFI motherboards, or is EFI disabled on the Intel boards? I just thought that if it were possible to get a native EFI motherboard, then a Hackintosh install would not require an EFI emulator; rather, a more straightforward method of bridging the Mac to PC EFI problem. Such a solution would obviously present less computability issues. I also recently read that other motherboard companies were going to be producing EFI motherboards. I wonder how this will change things for the Hackintosh community in the future?

Hey onetrack, I love the work you did to your pc, but I have a question comparing kalyway to leo4all v2. I know that you currently use kalyway and I am downloading it now, but do you think that leo4all v2 which I am also downloading is easier? It just looks like a lot of work and preparation for one to install leopard through all your steps. Also, in order for me to be able to install leopard, I would first need to partition my hard drive and convert the partition to FAT32 right? Also, should I download an os selector to select if I want to install Kalyway or XP? Thanks for all your help.

I have followed your guide to the tee, but it fails very early on in the install.

 

I've tried using Kalyway 10.5.2, and iatkosv1.0r2.

 

It boots and I press any key to install leopard. Lots of text appears on the screen and ends with

No switches change this outcome. I've tried these in all combinations -v -f -x -s cpus=1

 

I have Asus P5KPL-VM mobo, Q6600 quad proc, 4 gig mem, sata dvd rom, blank sata HDD.

 

I have tried two different motherboards one intel and one AMD. Both return the same error.

 

I've searched every where on the web but cannot find an answer to this one.
