I did your instructions I have hardware acceleration now but I still have this issue ;(

I removed all AppleIntelGMA950* files and AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext and it worked two times. Now I have Core Image: Software again and screen like on the photo.

EDIT:

I did it. I used external display and everything works great. Thank you jimmy7430.

Hi,

I'm running a default install of Leo4All v2 10.5.2 on a GMA X3100 Core2Duo Gateway laptop. Using Graphic Update 10.5.2 Kexts from a Macbook and Natit.kext.

I can adjust my resolution, but QE is listed as "not supported" in the Profiler.

What can I do to enable QE?

Thanks,

Jay

Add these lines to your boot.plist file

<key>device-properties</key>

<string>6d0000000100000001000000610000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027

c002c00480061007300500061006e0065006c0000000800000001000000</string>

EDIT: (by macgirl)

But make the string in one line, or it wont work

<string>6d0000...1000000</string>

It should read

6d0000000100000001000000610000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027f

c002c00480061007300500061006e0065006c0000000800000001000000

amuroray (of Netkas forum) is the one who found this string. So the credit also goes to him (or her).

Good news! Dell vostro 1500 with Intel GMAX3100 is fully working without Natit.kext.

settings of Dell Vostro 1500: CPU T5270@1.4GHz, 2G ddr2 Memory, Intel GMAX3100, chipset: Intel GM965, 160 Sata WD hdd.

the machine installed with Kalway 10.5.1, then upgraded to 10.5.2, and new SMBIOS.kext and mach_kernel from netkas.org.

I recently did the graphic updates, and I compared the new /System/Library/Extensions/ with the old one, I found the following has been modified or changed:

/System/Library/Extensions/ATI*
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMA*
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext

so make sure to back them up before and after you did the update.

I did tons of experiments of all the combination for different kext. finally, GMAX3100 work only for AppleIntelGMAX3100*, I have to remove all AppleIntelGMA965* and AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer. You don't need to worry about ATI* since we only have a GMAX3100 here. Natit.kext is not needed here anymore.

Here comes the important trick of how I make it work:

you need an external display to hook up with the laptop during booting. and press Fn + F8 to put the display on the external display. when the login screen appears, it will automatically redirect to the internal LCD display! and the external display won't be needed anymore.

I had the full functionality of the GMAX3100, QE/Ci, can change different resolution, except the refresh Freq(I guess it may related to the LCD issue).

2378076442_55ef5fd710_b.jpg

The tube external display is preferred, if one doesn't work, try others in several times. When I use an external LCD to trick GMAX3100 to work, I got the marbled/garbled screen like mafioso12's one, so be paitent and give more trying.

Good luck to everyone!

Would this work for GMA950 on a Vaio.

My problem is that I can't seem to get rid of mouse tearing and if I install the leopard graphics update my internal screen stops working.

Natit doesn't seem to be working for me either

GMA950 and X3100 are similar, but I can't assure the method will work.

My suggestion will be to make sure remove the AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext, and backup everything, give more trying.

if screen doesn't show, press power + "r" + "enter" to reboot, and use "-s" entering single user mode to make corresponding changes of your .kext.

Good luck.

Hi, I am new to this forum..

I have installed Kalyway 10.5.1 on my PC

Config: Intel D945GNT mobo (GMA 950) Pentium D Processor Samsung 940 BW monitor (1440*900@75Hz)

I first had problems like mouse tearing and all..

So I replaced the Appleintelintegratedframebuffer.kext with its latest version.. All problems solved..

But now I can't change my screen resolution... I just have one resolution 1024*768 available...

tried SwitchResX but since I have just 1 resolution available I cannot redirect or change it...

With older Appleintelintegratedframebuffer.kext (present in Kalyway):

im not sure about x3100, the files i uploaded are strictly for the gma950 bearing device id 0x27ae which is found in some laptops like the hp530 for example.

i edited the gma950 kext, the natit and framebuffer in HEX mode, this solved the problem, see the above link for a screenshot

D you know if this would work in a 1330m with Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 3000? TIA.Gus
