i have a dv9500 Used xxx 10.5.6 and selected power options and nvidia options all of them but i got audio working but acl286installer is what fixed that but can some one help me

Model Identifier: HP Pavilion dv9500 Notebook PC

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz

Number Of Processors: 1

Total Number Of Cores: 2

L2 Cache: 4 MB

Memory: 2 GB

Bus Speed: 3.2 GHz

Boot ROM Version: MP31.006C.B05

I have every thing working but sleep, shutdown, web cam, and wireless but i know there is nothing to do about that but any one else got any thing on the other problems

I have four questions because I have not quite found the answers:

1. Anybody do a vista and OSX dual boot, and what methods have been successful?

2. What type of partition and how much HD space was allocated for OSX?

3. Does the Intel wireless 3945ABG work?

4. Does anyone update with official updates from Apple?

Firstly hello to all the great people here on the forums that I have been reading and using information shared by them. Hours and hours and now I guess years of work have gone into some of these projects. But at the end of the day, I am dual booting windows seven and leopard 10.5.6 as a result of a little research and a lot of work by you guys. So Thanks.

Now.

I am running .

install is xxx leo 10.5.6

Started with dual booting with Windows 7 but now just running Leopard on two 200gb sata drives.

Model Identifier: HP Pavilion dv9500 Notebook PC (9521tx)After reinstall  it recongises as MACPro 3,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

  Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz

  Number Of Processors: 1

  Total Number Of Cores: 2

  L2 Cache: 4 MB

  Memory: 2 GB

  Bus Speed: 3.2 GHz

  Boot ROM Version: MP31.006C.B05

instead of listing everything I will only list things working well and things not working as I see is popular here.

Working

Hd audio --- using new alc268 during install

Ethernet---- using the realtek rtl 8111 family

DVD drive --- It is hddvd so will try a few different hddvds and see. Not that it matters anymore//

8600m gs ---- working at 1440 x 900. Dont think it is fully working as video is choppy.

(Update on this. After trying the drivers for different types and sizes I went with vanilla in nvinstaller v52. Works a dream now ).

HDMI ---- Tested the hdmi last night and it ran at 1080 resolution. So pretty happy with that. watched a bdrip on  a 42in set and it was suprisingly good . Dont get any sound through it though as I guess  it is just straight picture through the card.

Microphone  is working also.

Synaptics pad ---worksjust cant figure out how to enable tapping function.

Not Working

4695agn - tried all the suggestions, tutorials but no joy.(got  a broadcom card in the mail)

Webcam -  Seems to be working alothough  I have not tested it with any programs.

Anyway, so far so good, and thank you for the fantastic plac to find info and thrash out problems.

Any suggestions are also welcome .

I did a retail install using a 10.5.6 disk a few days ago, and so far its all working out pretty well. I used this retail guide to install it, then found a few .kext files and added them in and most everything is working. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=86167

I do have a few problems though:

I cant get the battery meter to show up. I dont run on pure battery very often, but I'd still like to see how fast Leopard will drain it, and know how much time I have left when I do.

I cant get my laptops touch pad to show up as such in the system settings. It just shows up as a regular mouse, and thus I can not tap on the pad to get it to left click. I never realized how much I used that until now...

When I shut down my laptop, all it does is halt the CPU. Everything else remains on, and I have to hold down the power button to turn it off.

I have a mini-firewire port, but OS X tells me that no firewire ports can be detected. It would be nice to have that as my main external hard drive has firewire.

I haven't tested firewire, HDMI, and VGA output yet.

My system:

DV9700t

C2D 2.2ghz

3gb ram

8600m, 512mb (only 256 show up)

320gb 7200rpm hard drive with Vista, 120gb for Leopard.

My wireless card is the 4965AGN, which currently doesnt work.

bluetooth shows up, but I havnt tested it.

Also, I found this a bit amusing. When I go to about this mac, it shows that my Model Name is Mac, and Model Identifier as HP Pavilion dv9700 Notebook PC. :)

Also, if anyone has a similar setup, I can upload the .kext files I used to fix a few things.

I have a dv6226us, having the same 10.5.6 issue with the battery. I have tried numerous "fixes" but nothing seems to work...

If you find something please let me know!!

Also, you did not mention a SD card slot in your post... Does the 9700 not have one, or do you actually have it working?? :)

Thanks

Rich

Hello everyone!!

I have dv9000 (intel) working hackintosh.I have tired so many version of osx but Iatkos 10.5.1 was the most hardware working one.It is working out of the box. :D What is not working it seems common problem wifi, webcam, michrophone and earphone jack and of course after the screensaver the screen goes off have to reboot the system.

I have a dual boot with Vista and working just fine but this was not enough so I went for WmWare fusion(virtualy runs couple of op systems under osx) and installed xp I tired to use Parallel Desktop as well but could not installed it in turn Parallel is better. I'm a big windows user but hate unstable system so would be great if someone could come out with couple of drivers and solve those problems.

Thanks for this community you guys awesome.

Hi, I have gotten a lot of good info off of this website thanks for all the har work and dedication.

I have what I would consider to be an great install using IPC 10.5.6. and selecting the correct fixes and drivers for my system

As far as the mouse tapping i recently found this and it works great. http://mydellmini.com/forum/touchpad-drivers-t5577.html

I do not want to take the credit or blame if it works or break your install but it is working really well on my system. I have 2 finger scroll, double trackpad clicking and dragging ect.

On my install sleep works flawless- even deep sleep works when activated. However, After display sleep my computer would not wake up. the screen seemed like it wanted to come on but nothing would display. I finally just had the display sleep and sleep functions disabled until I downloaded a program in the forums called on wake. On wake runs a script that changes your resolution and allows for the screen to come back on. The problem I ran in to was that It would never startup so I would end up having to shut my screen wait for the computer to sleep and then open the display and after waking up from sleep (not display sleep) my computer worked.

I then borrowed a part of on wake and tweaked it to work for my I created an automator

- Run Automator from within your /Applications directory.

- Pick "Custom" from the pop-up screen.

- Select "Run Shell Script" item from the list on the left side (you can type "script" in the little search field to quickly find the correct item), and drag it into the right area.

- A new window will open, where you can enter text. Insert the followin, replacing the height and width parameters (h and v resp.) with the values of your choice. The second line should contain your normal screen resolution.

/newscreen -h 1024 -v 768

/newscreen -h 1280 -v 800

- Go to the "File" menu and select "Save as".

- Choose "Application" from the "File Format" pull down menu and save the file to your documents.

Download Spark (or any program of your choice to run hotkeys for shortcuts to programs.

In spark I selected my automator ToggleResolution to launch activate/quit when I select (control 1).

Now whenever my computer display sleeps I tap any button and hit control 1 and my display is up within 3 seconds.

I hope this helps.

As far as battery mine tends to run for about 50 min on full charge. I wish it were longer.

Does anyone have a good power control management kext or program to control cpu speed or fan speed. My fans tend to run 80% of the time. They are not loud just constant.

Using Voodoo battery kext . it displays battery in top right and give percentage or time remaining

Someone get the Webcam working in Leopard?

I'm trying to configure mine, but with no succefull.

Glauber

Try iDeneb 1.4. That is what I am using. EVERYTHING works for my DV6000 except the headphone/mic jacks and card reader. Webcam works perfect except for backgrounds in ichat.

  • 1 month later...

hello

dv9540us here

Used: iPC 10.5.6

working:

graphics: 8600M GS, used NvInstaller 52 didn't use vanilla though

webcam- not working in photobooth but in everything else it is

card reader- applied patch from here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=132679

Sound: ALC268, headphones work too

Not working:

Wireless: 4965AGN - gonna have to wait till someone gets off lazy butt and makes a driver

using usb wifi stick instead

Have a DV6000.

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7100 @1.80ghz

NVidia GeForce 8400M GS

2GB RAM

120GB HDD

I've read through almost this entire thread and I'm still confused. All I want to do is dualboot Vista Basic and OS X.

All I know how to do is partition the HDD, and I can download and burn whatever.

Hey guys

I am in desperate need of some valuable help here :thumbsup_anim:

Okay

I have an HP DV2818ca laptop

it has 3GB ram, 250 GB harddrive, that has three partitions- a backup one, a MACOSX one, and the local disk C that has windows vista 32bit home premium running.

Processor: Intel Pentium (i know, but its good enough 4 me) dual core at 1.73GHz each

as for motherboard, im pretty sure it is intel, but when i go into everest, it says that it is

motherboard name: Wistron 20CD

ID: <DMI>

im pretty sure its intel, but cant figure it out.

Anyhow, I burned two cds so far: iATKOS v7 10.5.7 on a dvd, and another dvd, with only BOOT KABYL BUMBY

I know, 11.6mb file on a dvd that holds 4.7 is a waste, oh well.

So when i put in the first dvd, the boot kabyl one i get an a black screen with white words on it and a flashing cursor that keeps on flashing, for a long time.

I also tried iAtkos fist, but the same message popped up.

I checked out my cpu, and it is SSE2 and 3 capable

what is my problem?

anyone know any solutions?

file:///H:/DCIM/101MSDCF/DSC00238.JPG

thats the photo, hope it helps

for some reason when I upload a photo here it doesnt work :)

When I put in the iatkos v7.iso dvd, that is bootable, in to the dvd drive and boot up,

it goes through some text and then says

A:/>

and when I type E: (which is the dvd drive) it says invalid

and when i type -v or -f it also says "invalid command or file name"

so what should I type to get the dvd to boot.

It also says something about FreeDOS at the beginning

but nothing about darwin boot.

Chameleon_2.0_RC3 or teknojukie bootloader

OSInstall.mpkg to install with MBR format. not GUI

orry I unable to post last few day, due my computer crash when I update to new BIOS, it never boot up. If anyone know to how to fix this please let me know.

Any way these how I installed SL with original bios 59A

1. Use Disk Utility to format 8gb thumb drive to format GUI.

a. use TeknoJunkie_Snowfiles => bootloader install into your 8gb thumb drive.

b. use TeknoJunkie Utility => show all and click on show, and then open 8gb delete boot file.

c.TeknoJunkie bootloader copy boot file and past to your 8gb drive.

2. Mac os install DVD.dmg, go Disk Utility restore this image to your 8gb drive. when it done.

3. Open your 8gb drive click on system/installation/packages/OSinstall.mgkg and delete it. copy your new Osinstall.mgkg into same location.

Now you are ready to install your SL, if you have Leopard run and a (Snow) partition MBR format.

4. Click on Osinstall into snow partition. when it done.

5. used Chameleon_2.0_RC3 install into snow partition.

6. copy extra folder into snow partition and reboot.

7. when chaneleon bootup select snow to start and enter (64 bit) or Tab and type:arch=i386 and enter.

I installed these way about 5 time and it work for me or you can use step 2 to 7 too.

To fix Audio problem:

Remove AppleHDA.kext from extensions and reboot it.

I hope, it work well...

OSInstall.mpkg.zip

dsdt___Extra.zip

That's a VERY good question... has anyone got a DSDT patch in the HP laptop??? I get errors all the time...

You can use my DSDT file only into your Leopard extra folder and reboot it.

When it up and run you can run DSDT patch.

Sok5

Thought this was a good thread to drop this into:

Best new AppleHDA.kext for ALC268 audio on dv6500 / dv6700 / dv9500 /dv 9700 running Leopard is here courtesy of Skvo from AppleLife.ru.

I've ported it to a Snow Leopard AppleHDA.kext here. The Leopard kext is flawless and requires no other kexts - HDAenabler is a plugin kext on their version, but remove ALCinject.kext if you're using it.

My SL port no longer requires HDAenabler or ALCinject, as I've built the audio 'injection' into the DSDT.aml using the info from THE KiNG that is referenced in my post in that thread.

hi guys

i've got an hp 9344eu (i know that it's an AMD one, but this is not a cpu issue)

the problem is that i can't get the keyboard/traspad work

does anyone have the solution?

i've installed osx with iatkos v7 dvd, with no patch for the ps2 (douring the installation)

after i've tried all the iatkos patches (there are 3) and the ps2 fix from the ideneb dvd...nothing works

i have to use USB mouse and keyboard :)

p.s.: sorry for my english

hey guys i really do appreciate all the work yall doing and would like to be pointed in the right direction, i just got a new laptop hp dv6-1234nr,i know the hd4500 still in development but it seems i cant get the sound to work(altec lansing premiun sound),everything else work besides sound and video(not that important now) but i really need the sound kext anyone have it? im using ipc 10.5.6 distro, i just cant even get the id of it,help much appreciated :)

I used this guide to install snow leopard on my HP dv 9700t. Installed just fine the first time I tried it, and I just used an external hard drive instead of a flash drive. I'm not sure why all the guides say flash drive, when a hard drive is actually faster and works just the same. So far I've only found 4 things not working; keyboard, track pad, battery and audio. I just fixed audio though.

sok5, I downloaded your /extra/ folder and pretty much just copied everything in it to my /extra/ folder. That gave me audio, but I still dont have a working keyboard or trackpad, and the battery isnt being detected.

I'll try your method out on a different partition and see what that gets me.

Hi Steven,

If you have usb keyboard and mouse, you can use Kext Helper b7 to load these:

VoodooPS2Controller.kext

VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext

VoodooPS2Mouse.kext

VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext

these kext is going into your system extensions, not in your extra folder. When you done and boot it, I hope it's working for you.

Thks :(

Sok5

Thanks for the .kext's, but I somehow have both keyboard and mouse working now. Not sure how though, but they both work. I just need to get the audio and battery to work. I'm more concerned about getting the audio to work now though.

btw, I started a thread for these laptops in the 10.6 forum.
