I would like to apologise for the delay in writing this (then again, it's only been a month since I published the other forum update). A lot happened over the past two weeks I was away, and since I returned, I've spent some time gathering up information to tell you what really happened. I know a lot of you feel like you've been left in the dark, so here's my explanation.

 

Firstly, at the top of the list is Other's retirement. He requested that I retire him, and so I have. You may wonder why he has retired - the only thing I can say is that you ask him yourself. In case you were wondering, no one will be taking Other's Administrator place for the time being.

What happened regarding Other and Procker is still slightly shady, and until I know more about Other's motives and Procker's actions during that time, I am not going to reveal anything in case it is wrong. I will update you when I get more information on this.

 

Secondly, this is about what Ramm said when he left in relation to the hack and the events leading up to it. I do believe you have a right to know about what really happened, but I will keep this brief (there is no need to go into every little detail). Other did release the Admin Control Panel login details to Kiko (this was during the time Jason had sold the site and Other had left [i was not an Admin at this time, but why the passwords weren't changed after so many Admins had left is beyond me]). However, I would like to say that it is impossible to drop tables from the database through the Admin Control Panel. Some form of hacking was involved in order to gain access to the database. What I am trying to say is that Other isn't directly responsible for the hack or the release of the database to the public. So the question remains - who did hack the forum? I do not know. There are some speculations as to who it might have been, but I will not point any fingers because the rumours are not necessarily true. That's basically all I know regarding the hack itself.

 

The new logo you all saw was temporarily put in place by someone at Fubra, but as I was away for the whole time it was up, I was completely oblivious that it had even changed. However, I will say this - look forward to the next month or two ahead. Big changes are going to happen in the way InsanelyMac looks (and trust me when I say this, the draft looks a thousand times better than what it does at the minute!).

 

I think that sums it up for now. If you feel I have missed anthing out, please reply and tell me your thoughts.

eeek X.=.x I come back after a few weeks and all hell has broken loose. Attempting to read a bunch of different threads with conflicting stories made my head hurt :P. Thanks for clearing things up Tim :).

 

Now if everyone can age about 20 years, I think we'll all be mature enough to keep posting :P.

 

BTW totally late, but welcome back bofors, hope everythings going alright.

Big changes are going to happen

 

I think I remember not that long ago, Swad saying "big changes ahead" and Pow! this site was sold for like $70K if I'm not mistaken. but that might just be me and Im normally wrong.

 

I do understand that he is referring to the skin but any time I hear "big changes" I start to wonder.

yeah, you missed something, WHY THE HELL WAS I BANNED!!!!!!

 

I'm sorry that you were banned AllOutMacsToday. I have no idea why you were banned, but a quick look in the ACP told me that Other edited your account on the 15th (the day when "all hell broke loose"). I apologise for any inconvenience caused. I've lifted it until further notice.

So Sabr your saying that I should find every bug and every problem with the site and PM you? or did I miss something? hahahaha only kidding.

 

I must be honest that I am kinda upset about Other leaving but I have talked with him about this before, and I think its best for him in the end. Though he is a very smart person, and this site will not be the same with out him.

 

Also I am glad to see the AllOut got his account back. Its nice to see that some things are getting taken care of, and not just ignored.

Nice. Glad to see this is getting better and I posted in another thread, I don't care if I got banned etc. but seeing this helps alot. Other's actions are inexcusable to me. Maybe harsh, but he should have been kicked from the site even if nothing happened. Giving out admin passwords is stupid. This site was going DOWN and I was about to leave but I am glad it seems to be coming back up in standards. I am still wondering, why all the editing people's posts. I think there is NO need for that.
