On the other hand, this is what boredom does to you whilst waiting around for the next Beta to drop.

Apart from looking for pleasing Wallpapers, I have also done test clean installs in numerous ways.

Some successful, some total failures. I hope I don't break anything meanwhile I am waiting. :D

Cheers.

Looks really nice mate

Or better still here are a few I lifted and removed the watermark from some.

A little back story to my Tahoe clean installation.

The fact that I have to initially do the install using Mac 7,1 SmBIOS then switch to my regular iMac 20,20 model as it is dependant on the WEG.kext and there fore the install will not progress with this kext enabled.

I have to switch to an EFI Folder containing all files for my iMac20,20 model half way through the install.

This technique is all well and done but I learnt doing it this way can induce some Errors when the Tahoe volumes are checked in Disk Utility/First Aid.

Not happy with the result although at first happy at the outcome not realising the Errors, the machine would have some random freezes forcing a hard reset.

The series of clean installs I did were to solely done to get rid of those Errors and cure the freezes which I am pleased to say I managed and proved with 3 test installs.

This entails starting the installation with the 7,1 Pro EFI all the way until the Welcome Screen and then force a restart and switch to my usual regular running iMac Model.

The mistake I was making was switching out the EFI Folders too early corrupting the system with two different system data (my understanding).

Not switching out the Folders until the Welcome Screen was the way to go.

Checking the Installation in First Aid shows a clean bill of health, no Errors.

I have done a few installs with the iMac 20,20 EFI from start to finish without the RX580 and WEG.kext disabled.

That technique was too long winded as it involved constantly switching between the HDMI and DP connection between monitor and machine.

Of course if your usual SmBIOS is a Mac Pro 7,1 then you're all set to start with.

I like to think my machine can utilise both Graphics capabilities even though in some quarters it is said there is no real advantage in a Hack.

Like I said in the past, if I own Ferrari, now and again, I will let those horses stretch their legs to do the thing they were made for.

Now this has chipped away some of that period of boredom I was referring to. Hope someone finds some amusing enlightenment with the rambling musings of a bored individual.

I can understand you well Bro. Just to bore you a little more I' ll tell you something. You know we Italians drive in a way that could put us in jail in a second in usa. We like speed with attention,  the roar of the engine, the smell of gasoline. Now this EU Electric s@##t  Is hitting only those rich or dumb people who are not able to drive, who need and assistant maybe also to p***

60/70000 Euro for a trash can without the Freedom to go wherever you want in a Country (mine) with not enough recharge stations. You should see these ppl driving at 30 km/h with all the possibile electronic help, block ing you in line. They don' t even know what a real sport car Is.

So I swear behind them like I' m doing here waiting for Oclp. 😄 struggling not to get out of my car, running to theirs and behave like Chuck Norris in a movie

P.S.

The oclp team Is the Ferrari team

Clean install of Tahoe Public Beta on my old Asus C422 rig.

Took me a day to figure out how to install but the result is good. Everything seems to work except wifi. Aquantia 10Gb Nic , Bluetooth, Thunderbolt 3 and my Highpoint bootable NVME Controller seems to work as well.

Ok.  So I’m trying to install Tahoe on a new hard drive saving my Sequoia drive as it’s stable.  I have a Dell optiplex 9020 with Haswell core. I’m using essentially the same EFI AS Sequoia with updates to opencore and kexts.  I also for my first attempt added the boot picker argument to ignore smbios as suggested elsewhere.  The USB stick was created easily and I transferred the modified “Tahoe” EFI to the stick.

Switched hard drives and rebooted clearing nvram twice before trying the USB install.  I immediately get the following screen as seen earlier

IMG_0018.jpeg.90db6d8bfbd7764a71e8ef5909fefbac.jpeg

So following earlier advice to try changing the smbios I did just that.  I generated all new values using GitHub.  Upgraded to iMac 20,1.  Removed the boot argument saved everything and tried again clearing nvram twice before trying.

I get the same screen as above.  Does anyone have more suggestions?  Is the optiplex too long in the tooth to get there?

thanks for your help, Howard

I had the same error. OC 1.0.5 helped (with all kext upgtodate),  at least for me.

Done 👍
