@5T33Z0 Have you perhaps been able to get the onboard i225-V network port working properly on your Z490 Vision G build  under Monterey beta 3.

Cannot test it myself at present because my internet is currently running at stand still speeds, will attempt the beta 3 download when data throughput has improved somewhat.

Greetings Henties

Try adding this dk.e1000=0 in the boot args, turn off the FakePCIID_Intel_I225-V.kext and remove any device properties you have for the network port. I use this on the vision D board and have no need for those kexts any more, am on Beta2 and it works properly for both my network ports, only thing is you have to go into the hard ware settings of your ethernet ports and set them manually to 1000baseT and apply

Where did you get the full installer from, I am not getting the beta3 update, does not show in system pref

Beta 3 really doesn't like my system. I don't think it's AMD specific as others have updated without issue. The boot process is super slow, eventually I'll get a "IOKit Daemon (kernelmanaged) Stall relating to IOHID, X86PlatformPluging, GFX0 and some others. The order they appear and what appears changes from time to time. I never manage to boot it. The same thing happens between the second stage of the update and from a USB installer for beta 3. Any suggestions?

When I had this type of problem, I disabled all unnecessary acpi.aml and kexts. I kept just what was strictly necessary to boot and install. After install I discovered by elimination the culprit (usually a kext).

I used this app-Installscript-still works in Big Sur!-there is a more recent version in the downloads section of this forum-you will get the InstallAssistant pkg which you can use to upgrade -you can also use the link below-:

You will need to be patient when downloading unless you have good internet-took me hours-file is around 11GB!

One of the first things I tried. Thanks

The 3 betas installed without problems, but the beta 3 prevents the computer from sleeping. Anyone else experiencing this bug?

What i noticed in my case is the comp looks like its going to sleep, screen-saver-appears -but no prompt for password to login when you click on screen- just goes straight back to desktop?

I have no problem with sleep and wake in beta 3 as well as in previous versions. Clover 5138.

+1. On my iHackbook, however, every now and then there is a KP from the bluetooth stack/Brcm kext's and I have to reboot via power button. But overall, it goes to sleep and back most of the time.

'I'm having a challenge updating to Monterey beta 3 from Monterey Public Beta. Upon reboot I get the attached screen of info, which doesn't make sense to me. I have already enabled SIP. I'm going to remove my wifi and bluetooth kexts and try again, but if anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful.

UPDATE

The Kexts are not the problem. I have also updated clover to 5138 from 5137. Neither has had any effect on the error message.

Doesn't work for me with Base100T, but @badbrain said it works for him with Base1000T if I recall correctly.

@surenmunoo Nope does not work in Monterey beta 3, one can set it up and everything looks OK but it will just not connect. This procedure works in Big Sur though.

Greetings Henties

I just updated now to Beta3 and both my network ports still work with no issues using the method I mentioned.

Trying to do a createinstallmedia but errors out with this

Geoffs-iMac ~ % sudo /Applications/"Install macOS Monterey beta.app"/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume MyVolume

Password:

MyVolume is not a valid volume mount point

Surely you already know it but the points that you have to review are few:

  • USB device is partitioned as GUID and formatted as HFS+
  • USB device has at least 16gb.

You can also plug another memory stick in case it is a problem with this particular unit.

Tried both HFS+ and APFS

HD is 129GB
