but The message about the incompatible disk is the RESTORE DMG.

I can't erase it.

It's because Big Sur uses a newer APFS filesystem version. You can try manually mounting in Terminal, but I didn't try that.

Why the menu bar on big sur is really slow to load the window, like audio volume or bluetooth...?

If you're using HDD then maybe that's why. Also keep in mind that this is the 1st Dev Beta, so there are lots of things that broken or bugged. Or the system is indexing files in background and slowing the system down, check your usage.

When I mount the DMG (120Gb+) on my Catalina installation, I get this error:

And even all "disks" showing on diskutil list, after the restore the disk is unusable.

How to fix it?

Is normal, Big sur has newer version of APFS.

Use terminal for dd disk

I use sdd. However this is the least problem. Instead for my wifi card, how can I get it recognized with Big Sur?

Give this a try, I haven't tested my app on Big Sur it might fail but I guess it's worth to try. Just to be fair make sure that you have a back up of your data in case it backfires

Yes, I am following the instructions and it has to be copied via Terminal using DD

I'll give it another try.

In a moment I share my EFi folder with all... right know I'm in the middle os repairing and resizing my ssd...

Are you use Pavo commands? Post for us if was different please...!!!

Installation went fine even though last part of the installation process was blind because screen turn black although I can still see it works. After a while screen turns off and when I press something turns on again and shows black screen, sometimes I can see the mouse cursor on the black screen.

Booting up again after installation is a success but still black screen although monitor turned on.

I have a AMD 5700 XT.

Anyone seen a black screen and fixed it?

5. Mount the preboot volume

Open folder named by Big Sur UUID (check timestamp)

sudo cp ./com.apple.installer/boot.efi ./System/Library/CoreServices/
sudo cp -r ./System/Library/PrelinkedKernels.Staged ./System/Library/PrelinkedKernels

(com.apple.installer is hidden)
6. Reboot and choose the entry with new volume name. (Almost finished!)
7. Go to disk utility and get a first aid. (?)

Could you please explain this part in more details ?

I mount the Preboot drive of the my SSD and then I copy and paste the terminal commands ?

If I try it I only get a error message cp: directory ./System/Library/CoreServices does not exist

or cp: ./System/Library/PrelinkedKernels.Staged: No such file or directory

it would be awesome if you could help me...

Kind Regards

Yeah you can mount EFI but how do I replace kext in S/L/E I can't put sytem drive in read/write mode, bloody APFS

You shouldn't be replacing kext in S/L/E or adding them to L/E because those kext have to be signed and notarized now.

There is a method for enabling older WIFI cards on Big Sur, but I guess I'll wait for more Hackintosh friendly method.

What when iMessages does not activate?

Using IntelMausi (from acidanthera) and a real iMac 2015 (supported) WLAN adapter. Both are set to built-in.

[Edit] - Weird, had to send a text to someone on iMessage for the service to register on the Mac...
