I just had a scary episode  while the computer was idle (screensaver) : 5700 XT fans started running at the highest (never heard them like this) + black screen + very hot GPU backplate. After a forced reboot I saw several messages like this in the console from before the crash

com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.DumpGPURestart): Service only ran for 1 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 9 seconds.

This along with my previous issues about fans control seeming to be wonky after screen sleep (hence the screensaver, see earlier posts) + a few heavy graphics crashes under Windows while gaming (reboot needed) make me worry about my GPU. Did anyone experience this with the navi GPUs ? I don't want to rush to concluding "bad hardware" if it's just bad drivers on both macOS and windows, which seems in the realm of possible... I hate not having Navi temps readings in macOS, any news on that by the way ?

Looks related to power management (powerd) .. When you say random, what does this mean ?  using a specific app?  Using different apps?  Your doing nothing and the computer is idling then panic'ing?  going in or coming out of sleep?

Do you have things like turn hard disks off after a period of time on?

When the computer is just sitting there, Idle, screens are asleep I have had different apps running/not running. I have attached my energy saver settings.

What EFI are you using since your using OC with a 1,1 SMBios? Is the iGPU disabled / enabled ?

Have you tried 19,1 ?  Does it happen with this if so?

There is not a lot to go on here .. you likely need to check the logs for more clues..

I have couple of quick questions for all of you who are using the Polaris version of the Clover EFI. My next upgrade I am planning is getting a new monitor, probably 1440p as a 4K 27" is probably overkill considering my usual viewing distance. All the monitors I am interested in either Display Port or HDMI inputs which my current monitors I have avaialbe don't have, so I haven't been able to test all the GPU ports.

Are the DP and HDMI ports working for you guys? Also, is it possible to have dual monitor set up?

It was a little tricky to get my GPU working in my last build... in fact, I had to stop at Yosemite since I couldn't get the El Capitan installer to work with my GPU.

I have not tested Dual Monitor setup but HDMI works fine with the Polaris EFI's on my RX 580 Pulse

Ive tested dual monitor on a Rx580 and 590 with no problems at all buddy. (Builds I have done for others)

I have tried 19,1 and 1,1, iGPU disabled.

Could some of the issue be with using a 1,1 serial/UUID/etc on a 19,1 smbios?

how would I check additional logs?

****Edit: this is for a secondary rig, Similar to my main rig, but with an RX580 instead of my Vega 64****

You have to generate new details for 19,1 and no it’s not wise to use your 1,1 info apart from your MAC address, your details relate to your smbios too.

Awesome, just corrected things for that computer, I will let it sit and see if another KP shows up, Thanks @AudioGod

thanks for the quick reply. I'll assume that the DP and HDMI are working. I'm sure there would have been complaints if they weren't. the most "advanced" video port I've used so far is the DVI port which is not quite good enough for higher rez monitors.

Hello,
I also have a Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro Wifi (F12c), i7 9700K (intel 630) & RTX 2070.
I had successfully installed Mojave with the clover r5103 & HD630 Z390 Pro F12d EFI 140220.zip.

I tried to install Catalina 10.15.3 but I have a kernel panic.

I tested several boot flags
On the photo I put:

dart=0 darkwake=0 -cdfon -v nv_disable=1 -disablegfxfirmware debug=0x100 shikigva=144

Now I can't boot on mojave either. I have the same kernel panic. I do not understand.

If you have an idea :)

For interest :

Windows 10  Pro boot works with me

The method is :

I removed the SSD from my pc and installed it in another pc and installed Windows 10 in it and I returned the SSD my device

It now the boot works without problems

all the best

Well done buddy but you know you could of done the exact reverse and just of removed your Catalina Drive and booted up windows on the same machine and once it was fully booted up and ready you just put back your macOS drive. This would of prevented windows from rewriting all the devices when you swapped systems over again. Not a big deal but a lot of clean up work is needed in windows after doing what you did.

Could a nice person with a z390 aorus pro wifi with an i5 / i7 / i9 9xxx processor without GPU like me, only with intel uhd 630 could zip me his EFI.

I don't understand why I can't do it :(

Thx

Hello!

Is there any "hack" or config in clover that I can do to prevent my monitors to show up in sound output? I have two monitors connected to HDMI, two in Display port and one in DVI, those that are connected in hdmi and display port are also showing in Sound output devices :/

Thanks!

Here is the newest CPU Panic. I am at a loss. My only thought could be the case fan controller (Corsair Commander Pro) could be the issue. Let me know your thoughts

MacOS does not like anything made by Corsair connected via the internal usb hub.
It’s a constant trouble maker for a lot of people.

Yeah, other than the different video card, that commander pro is the main difference between my main computer and that one. Looks like I will be removing that later on.

Yea Corsair developers are Billy Gates Kids :hysterical:

It must be corsair specific really. I have the NZXT Kraken X62 plugged in the internal usb and never encountered any issues. Pure luck.
