Anyone having any issues updating to 10.15.6 using OC 0.5.9? I have tried to install through the App Store and using Combo Update. Both methods bring me to my computer restarting to the installer and then I get a failed message and a log (attached below).  I hope someone else has some insight to this.

Installer Log 17-Jul-2020combo.txt

The update process is a bit quirky, however you shouldn't really have issues even with 0.5.9. There is an extra reboot and user input is required to select the right partition. Upon starting the update, you will see the Apple logo and progress bar for a bit. It will reboot with the installer select. After a few, it will reboot again, with an additional network partition called NO NAME. From there you need to select the installer again. It will then complete without issue.

Where is your system halting? What is the specific error on screen?

How do you solve the sleep issue with bluetooth under a USB2.0 Hub? I tried to set the Hub as internal but the computer still couldn't sleep. Please check the attached picture for more detail

Also my USBMap Kext doesn't work, I'm using Asrock B460M pro4, can you check why my USB3 devices are not recognized?

Thanks

Yes keep it enabled in the bios and also in powersaving in settings.

wake on lan can behave erratically and be woken up by things like your iPhone or iPad screen waking or your Apple Watch when you look at it but AirportBRCMfixup.kext can Help with that and settle it down.

Yes I am sure about this. I wouldn’t say it if I wasn’t.

also it should indeed be set too internal not usb2 but that won’t cure the problem probbaly. (HS11=internal and HS13=USB2)

again it’s pcie adaptor dependent and yes it’s the bluetooth that causes the wake.

Side Note - I’m referring to OpenCore here as my clover EFI doesn’t work right with hackintool as Usb is being done via the ssdt and DSDT to give you native usb with no port limit. You can change this if you prefer to make it with a kext and 15 port limit.

It isn't even halting, I reboots into the installer, I then get to the installer screen that says the update has failed. I will see if I can get a picture of it.

Why are you here?????

This thread is for the Gigabyte Z390 Auros Pro/Pro Wifi. No other board.

Because I see that the Gigabyte also has the internal port as USB2.0 Hub first, then the bluetooth adapter come after that. It's similar to my board so I'm trying to learn how to solve that.

Due to the USB2.0 Hub, I was not able to set the bluetooth usb port to 255 internal and my computer couldn't sleep.

What Tiem is saying the Port Mapping here is exclusively tailored for the Z390 Gigabyte board and will not work for your board because of the difference between the two board's configuration. You need to map the USB layout on your board for the correct ports to include or exclude for your board and use, using any other will just not work for you.

No, I don't use the mapping for z390. I'm just asking how do you map the internal HS11? Just set it to 255 and the computer can sleep? Or did you do anything special ? That's why I asked "How do you solve the sleep issue with bluetooth under a USB2.0 Hub?"

@thief-Use the app 'Hackintool' full instructions included.

It seems like I have to load XHC-unsupported kext together with USBMap kext. So one problem remain...

Can you take a picture of the USB Bluetooth port, if it's similar to mine?

@thief sorry let me explain further. Every board has unique traits. Quirks. Things you may need to do different than any other board. Maybe some need x kext maybe some don’t. Maybe some need y kext. And so on. Maybe someone set up the ports in another manner. USBPorts.kext isn’t the only way to set it up.

The point is nobody here knows your board, your particular set up. To use an analogy, you’re asking a Windows question in a Mac community. Not only will they not know but the 2 OSes are so different you can’t pick some random similarity and assume they are the same.

Almost every modern board has an internal USB hub. That doesn’t mean they map the same. And if both are on HS11 that also means nothing.

In short go find a thread with your board and ask there. You’ll find people who can actually help.

At the very least you’re just being off topic. This is not a general help thread for USB port mapping. That’s why we have a vast forum that caters to every kind of PC out there.

Interestingly enough I put my old Vega 64 in and the update is moving along now. Any thoughts on that?

*EDIT*: update went through just fine with my old Vega 64 in. Put my 5700XT in and working just fine!

update

So, I've updated my bios to F12d and unlocked the cfg as in the first post. Still got kp with the efi.

Seems like the problem is the 3 monitors connected to the GPU .

Booting with only one monitor I didn't get any kp yet.

Hello! After 10.15.6 update, my webcam's mic records sound very distorted, I plugged the webcam to both USB2 and USB3 interfaces but I'm getting the same result. I checked the webcam with my MacBook and a PC and works fine on both, I also checked an external mic via line-in 3.5 jack interface, and it records sound fine, it seems that via USB I'm facing that issue.... anyone else facing similar issues after the update? I'm using OpenCore.

Thanks!

I thought you were wrong, but you were right.

I changed the port as internal and the same issue happens. Connected it to USB internal port, and computer wakes again....

bummer...

I guess I will have to disconnect the Bluetooth port from the MB and use a USB BT adaptor....

did you not try the fix I linked to you in the last post I made about it?

should work bud

I've installed a PCI wifi card BCM94360CS2

Since I installed I have no sleep.

I connected it to F_USB1 and to the F_USB2 connector and the behaviour is the same.

Computer goes to sleep and automatically turns back.

Is there a way to prevent this?

Looking on the HAckintool I see that the port HS11 is set up as USB2. Shouldn't be configured as "INTERNAL"

I've had no such luck. Sleep was working until I installed a Fenvi FV 101 card. Since then no matter what settings I used (they are correct in hackintool) I no longer have any kind of sleep.

Wait, what? I thought OpenCore was the darling of the "it just works with updates" crowd. :hysterical:

Cool, I am going to look into this RTCMemoryFixup. How is this different from the "FixRTC" setting in clover fixes?

EDIT:

I think I may have found my answer here:

@AudioGod There are no RTC patches in the DSDT, are there?

I also assume that if you use the RTCMemoryFixup, you should uncheck AppleRTC fix under Kernel and Kext Patches?

Edited by pkdesign

The newest Clover (5120) now has a config for OcQuirks built in. Meaning you do not need to use a OcQuirks plist.

I haven’t tried this yet. Has anyone updated clover yet? I might do so later after I get some real work done and have a full back up

If you are refering to RTCMemoryFixup I didn't try. Sort of scared of messing up and borking my set up.

if you are referring to

"Side Note - I’m referring to OpenCore here as my clover EFI doesn’t work right with hackintool as Usb is being done via the ssdt and DSDT to give you native usb with no port limit. You can change this if you prefer to make it with a kext and 15 port limit."

I don't quite follow you on what do I have to do.

Sorry yes I am referring to RTCMemoryFixup, It’s not going to mess up your system so don’t worry about that bud. It’s the only fix I know of to cure sleep for your combo card.

Why don’t you use a USB Catalina instal drive to test the EFI with so that way no harm can come to your system or original EFI and once your happy or not happy you can do it for real or scrap the test depending on the result.

Edited by AudioGod

I installed RTCMemoryFixup yesterday and all is working well. If you read the post above from vit9696, it would seem that this should be the standard install because of how it works. I copied the kext into Kext>Other and set KernelAndKextPatches, AppleRTC=False (or No).

Now, has this fixed my sleep issue, no. But every case is different unfortunately.

I have a USB for testing. No problem on that

But the instructions I find on https://github.com/acidanthera/RTCMemoryFixup are minimal.

I don't see any kext only a plist file and also the cpp files, etc, so I guess I have to compile the kext - if it is one -
Well... as a programmer myself I don't see it very well explained...

Also, as you know the system very well, on question. I noticed that the OpenCore files from AudioGod include  AirportBrcmFixuo.kext. I didn't remove it for my build as it worked. But... could it be causing trouble with my system????

Any help or guidance is very welcome, thanks.

Look to the right, there is a compiled version 1.06 under the heading Releases.

Since you are using OpenCore, there is some editing you will need to do to your config.plist
