pkdesign
I have just updated to Clover 5112 and all is well. Versions 5109-5111 were having significant theme issues at boot, but the folks over at Clover have finally figured it out. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/339980-audiogods-aorus-z390-pro-patched-dsdt-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/106/#findComment-2717454 Share on other sites
Pieroman
I just had a scary episode while the computer was idle (screensaver) : 5700 XT fans started running at the highest (never heard them like this) + black screen + very hot GPU backplate. After a forced reboot I saw several messages like this in the console from before the crash : com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.DumpGPURestart): Service only ran for 1 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 9 seconds. This along with my previous issues about fans control seeming to be wonky after screen sleep (hence the screensaver, see earlier posts) + a few heavy graphics crashes under Windows while gaming (reboot needed) make me worry about my GPU. Did anyone experience this with the navi GPUs ? I don't want to rush to concluding "bad hardware" if it's just bad drivers on both macOS and windows, which seems in the realm of possible... I hate not having Navi temps readings in macOS, any news on that by the way ? Using different apps? Your doing nothing and the computer is idling then panic'ing? going in or coming out of sleep? Do you have things like turn hard disks off after a period of time on? When the computer is just sitting there, Idle, screens are asleep I have had different apps running/not running. I have attached my energy saver settings. Project 2501
I have couple of quick questions for all of you who are using the Polaris version of the Clover EFI. My next upgrade I am planning is getting a new monitor, probably 1440p as a 4K 27" is probably overkill considering my usual viewing distance. All the monitors I am interested in either Display Port or HDMI inputs which my current monitors I have avaialbe don't have, so I haven't been able to test all the GPU ports. Are the DP and HDMI ports working for you guys? Also, is it possible to have dual monitor set up? It was a little tricky to get my GPU working in my last build... in fact, I had to stop at Yosemite since I couldn't get the El Capitan installer to work with my GPU. I'm sure there would have been complaints if they weren't. the most "advanced" video port I've used so far is the DVI port which is not quite good enough for higher rez monitors. This would of prevented windows from rewriting all the devices when you swapped systems over again. Not a big deal but a lot of clean up work is needed in windows after doing what you did.
