1st I would try before that is reflash your bios using F11 and then load in my bios MSR unlocked profile and using the new EFI and adding your details try and boot up. If that don’t work might very well need to reinstall it. Lesson here is don’t use hackintool to install kext. Do it yourself and just reboot for the kexts to take effect, there no need to be rebuilding the cache bud. Ops! 

I'm able to boot with my very first EFI folder that I backed up.(thanks god!)

 

reinstall is not an option for me now.

also, it shows all of my efi partitions in clover configurator.

 

your efi folder shows just mojave and arch efi partitions

If down the line you decide to do a clean install, If you do a time machine backup of your system you can do a clean install and then put everything via time machine. That will work perfectly and is next to no head stress to do it.

 

check your bios settings like I said if you want to try an easy fix.

do you mean the clover configurator tool or are you talking about your boot selection on the clover startup splash?

wow mate I dont know what's going on there but none of that should be happening and since I've only ever heard about this from you all eyes are on your build having something wrong somewhere. like I said before it sounds like a total mess to me bud.

 

would love to help you but I can't do much from here with no knowlage of your build or anything else to do with your hack.(I wish I had special powers but I really dont..lol) removing the dsdt won't help you if your using the same board as the dsdt is meant for. what you need to consider is your problem is unique to you so that really does say it all buddy.

remove them if you do, you can use the clover app to do that.

I have tried to reinstall clover version 5102 but got same problem. No RC scripts.

I'm just gonna stick with older clover version and your DSDT and config.plist

I have a test for anybody using the new EFI under 19,1 with igpu enabled.

using geekbench please run a gpu test and take a note of the score then restart the system and go into the bios and change the igpu memory from 64mb to 512mb 

Settings -> IO Ports -> DVMT Pre-Allocated -> 512m

Boot back into Catalina and once it’s fully loaded (after 2 or 3 mins) run the geekbench gpu test again and see if you get a nice kick in performance?

Be sure to let me know the result.  

 

if anybody gets a failure to allocate memory (stop sign at startup) using the new EFI ever then again please do let me know as thanks to the MemoryAllocation.efi and OcQuirks you should hopefully never see that or have to do a battery bios reset again. 

Using your new EFI works fine. Never had memory issues so not sure why I need MemoryAllocation.efi.

 

But, when I increase DVMT Pre-allocated to 512MB, I can not boot. I get to Apple sign and it just stops. I never see the progress bar.

 

Question, why are you not using IntelMausi 2.5.0?

no hold on 1.0.2 is the latest version. your referring to IntelMausiEthernet.kext v2.5.0

I've always used the same kext as its always worked perfectly fine, its never once occurred to me to consider swapping that kext over.

 

@pkdesign If you try the other version of the kext then please do let me know how it goes for you?

 

leave the memory at 64mb but I think that was just bad luck if it did that. It probably wouldn’t happen twice.

ive concluded testing it and reports from other users and the best settings for the igpu are 64m, 256m, 256m and you can have above 4g enabled or disabled, it doesn’t matter anymore.  
 

Lastly MemoryAllocation.efi assigns memory for the nvram properly so no matter what it’s a huge improvement for everybody and not just you.

Add your details (serial etc) and do not add no extra kexts or drivers or remove anything else from the EFI and try it exactly as is.

 

your EFI was messed up buddy, you can not use fake.smc and virtual.smc together. that's a huge nono

fakesmc is old and no longer supported and should not be used, virtualsmc is its direct replacement.

Absolutely yes 

the only kexts you need should be in the EFI and nowhere else too.

Just need to fix Arch linux boot from clover. Boot gets stuck at loading ramdisk.

i don’t how to resolve that one concerning Linux buddy sorry. It should just work as no parts of the dsdt, ssdt or renames get used when booting into any other OS so I’m really not sure.

Have you not found any info about it online?

I'd been using IntelMausiEthernet.kext 2.5.0 for some time now with your previous EFI and it works great. I will replace 1.0.2 wit the 2.5 again and see how it goes.

 

I booted twice with the higher DVMT and it never booted so not sure it was a fluke. But i am back to the original and working fine.

A couple things I'm hoping to get advice on:

1. I am unable to work around the immediate wake issue with my EVGA AIO plugged into F_USB1.  To double check, I followed the guide here: https://fewtarius.gitbook.io/laptopguide/battery-power-management/correcting-sleep-problems and verified that my motherboard uses the GPRW method, so the Corsair AIO fix should work (but it doesn't).
2. I followed the guide here to disable CFG Lock https://khronokernel-2.gitbook.io/opencore-vanilla-desktop-guide/extras/msr-lock  After running setup_var, I disabled KernelPM and things are still working.  Is there any other way to verify that I did this correctly?  (I tried to use OpenCore to run VerifyMsrE2 but eventually gave up.)
   • BTW, the CFG Lock offset found for my Elite F10a BIOS is 0x5C1.  Does that happen to match the Pro?
3. Amazon Prime video crashes under Safari.  Chrome works but does not support 1080p.  I was hoping that fixing CFG Lock would resolve this issue, which is why I would like to verify that I completed #2 correctly.

Any hints would be appreciated!

Hhhmmmm strange, must be connected to something but no matter as its not needed. Il suss out why that’s happening to you though so watch this space..lol

I had many a person trying it out for me today and running tests including myself and all was dandy. Only thing I can think of is nobody had above 32mb apart from you....hhhhmmmmm .

OC will return, it got pulled from here to make changes too and try and make it good with 19,1.

 

i just ran speed tests with both Ethernet kexts and I can’t find any difference tbh.

I’m using 2.5 at the second to try it out to try and spot a difference. None so far.

best thing you can do with the aio is disconnect it from the internal usb connection. 
macOS doesn’t use it and nor does the aio unless your in windows and running the software.

when I was using a h100i that exactly what I did. The patch isn’t great.

 

you can use hackintool to verify that your MSR unlocked but I can also tell you right now that you are unlocked because you wouldn’t be able to boot into macOS with kernelPM unchecked if you wasn’t. 

 

as for amazon prime, you just got to find the right shiki value for your card but I see you use a 5700 so it should be 80 in that case.

 

if you like I can take a look at your EFI for you if it differers from mine or you have made major changes to it?

 

Sorry yes 0x5C1 is the same as the Z390 Pro and Z390 Master boards.

One funny thing just FYI, Hackintool will show IntelMausi 1.0.2 in its list of installed kext but not when you have the 2.5 version installed. Odd. Any ideas @headkaze?

probably because and it’s just a guess but one is a copy of the other.

i would stick to 1.0.2 if I was you. Don’t be fooled by a number being higher.

It’s a if it ain’t broken don’t fix it sort of deal.
