Anyway, the VirtualSMC error is gone now, seemed to be a one-time error. The boot process is still stuck at the same spot though Edit: Just to be sure I did add VirtualSMC.efi but no difference Edit2: I've compared a successfull boot of DP4 with the boot of DP5 and they're identical except that DP5 stops at: apfs_module_start:1682: load: com.apple.filesystem.apfs, v1412.0.6, apfs-1412.0.6.151.2, 20/07/26 On DP4, the first line AFTER the above is: AppleUSBLegacyRoot@:AppleUSBLegacyRoot::init: enabling legacy matching before it continues booting. That happened to me at least once during this cycle. I don't have USB2 port active, USB2 device connected in USB3 don't appears in Catalina Finder and in Terminal. Problem my combo (Keyboard+mouse) is connected in Rear USB2 port.
