My question is the following I've been trying to install clover 4958 in a usb pen, and when I try to choose the location of the install it crashes... i'm at the moment in macOS Catalina, anyone knows why this happen and a solution? Thanks in Advance Hi there! Long time no talk. Do you get an error? I haven't tried installing Clover in Catalina... Could be that some things need to be updated. Either on Clover side, or on Apple side. And I don't see why it would be any different than a regular installation to the SSD/HDD. It probably isn't. So...what I'm trying to say is that the fact that it's on a USB drive, probably doesn't mean anything. Did you try the latest official version of Clover? Does it do the same thing with that one, as well? Also, what do you mean by crashes? Do you get an error? Does the installer simply disappear mid-installaion? :)) I'm a bit confused. I have tried the 2 versions the source forge version and the dids version, it occurs in the 2 versions all the same when I try to choose the install location the installer crashes and some time later appears the error report... Thanks for you answer Did you get this, too? I got that when trying to install it to the HDD. If you click "Install Anyway", it works. On the USB though, it worked fine from the very first try... What are your SIP settings? I doubt this is specific to a certain version... But if you wanna give it a try, I attach the exact same version I used in the screenshots above. However, none of my USB devices like Keyboard or mouse work. Seems like USB bad patch. The Asmedia USB controller seems to be working as my Flash drive connects to it. Any pointers? Secondly, For MSI motherboards, it's recommended to keep CFG Lock disabled but is there a way to boot USB installer with CFG Lock Enabled? I tried KernelPM=True clover setting but the boot does not go ahead no matter what. If I keep CFG lock disabled, Windows 1903 does not allow Virtualization and Sandbox feature to run. Thanks anyway... Ook.. That's weird. Do you get the same error on both of your computers? Have you tried it on the other one? I wonder what could be different. Maybe the SMBIOS...maybe hardware. But I can't imagine what could be hardware to cause this issue. Also, I think it's supposed to be 0x3E7. I read somewhere that, because Apple added new things to SIP, we also need to use a different value than before. The first time that I noticed that behavior from clover was when I installed macOS Catalina in a new partition of my ssd and tried to install clover in that partition and I couldn't. What command is necessary to reach root @chris1111? Thanks you guys... Ps: In my sidebar the current disk macOS Catalina don't appear... the only one that appears is my windows 10 SSD... Well, you could set Finder preferences to show you all Locations on the Sidebar. Ooor...from Terminal: open /Volumes As for Catalina disk drives, you can drag and drop from your Desktop to the Sidebar in Finder. Mine were already displayed there. I think they would exist in case Clover install fails which is not the case for me. It does install but not on the EFI partition I want to. Anyway, it did the same when trying to install GOG launcher on another disk so I would say that it's a bug and that it's related to the macOS install Program rather than Clover install package. PS: I use total finder and it works bad in macOS Catalina, and when it opens the preferences are empty, for that reason I can't show all disks...
