I used Glasgood EFI from earlier and still running Audio Layout ID 1 as I read some other posts before about the wrong audio layout in this thread. All I did for my EFI is adding the SSDT frame buffer to test and replace Glasgood config file with mine. Again @glasgood makes our lives better with Vega56 Framebuffer patch. Reporting on the new frame buffer: It gives me extra boost in openCL app. The infamous pinky lines are back but I don't care about that glitch. Even my real Mac sometimes has those. All the others have gone. Are you using weg 1.3.1? Yes, it's on 1.3.1 and sometimes the screen just tear after restart, but when it finished booting, it's totally fine, so I don't really care much. I tested out with 8K footage on my final cut pro and it works better with the new framebuffer. I'm happy. soniferous_fox
11 hours ago, glasgood said: UPDATE 01/07/2019 POST-INSTALL Aorus Pro Z390 EFI - RX580 now updated to Clover v2.5k r5018 OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 is now replaced with OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi as lately Clover developer Apianti announced that OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 was unsafe to use. At present, OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi or OsxAptioFixDrv is unusable when using SMBIOS for iMac 19,1 on Aorus Z390 motherboard with Initial Display Output - PCIe Slot & Internal Graphics enabled. Therefore POST-INSTALL Aorus Pro Z390 EFI is now updated with SMBIOS for iMac Pro 1,1 and OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi Internal Graphics should now be disable when using SMBIOS for iMac Pro 1,1. Also, USBPorts.kext has been recreated for iMac Pro 1,1 as USBPorts.kext created for iMac 19,1 will not function properly when used with SMBIOS for iMac Pro 1,1. Thanks to @AudioGod @larabee for bringing OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi to my attention as a working solution with SMBIOS for iMac Pro 1,1 And thanks to @hackinbot for resolving the display wake from sleep issue when RX580 is used with SMBIOS for iMac Pro 1,1 Pleased to see you got OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi working for you! 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337837-glasgoods-macos-mojave-successguide-for-aorus-z390-pro/page/44/#findComment-2683861 Share on other sites
soniferous_fox
So, I tried the R580 aml for my RX570 (I edited to change the name), and sure enough it was showing Orinoco and getting an increase in Geekbench, but I have 3 displays connected to the 3 Display ports, and the 3rd no longer works with the aml. Any ideas why that would be? I have switched back to how it was before for now and all is fine again. glasgood
On 7/24/2019 at 12:20 PM, soniferous_fox said: If anyone is interested, I decided I wanted to switch from OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi if there was even a slim chance of it causing issues, but had never had any joy with any of the others. I gave it another go, and finally got another working - OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi. Note, I am on a Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming, but it may relate to similar boards? It does come with a big caveat though, and that is disabling iGPU in the BIOS to free up more memory when booting. You also need to add "slide=0" to boot options if you don't have it. With both of those done, it worked for me. iGPU for me was only for hardware acceleration in some apps, but I then changed the model in SMBios to iMac Pro 1,1 and that enables hardware acceleration using my graphics card (RX570), so the iGPU become obsolete anyway - as an aside, it also fixed Netflix playback in Safari. It is possible on different hardware you may be able to boot with iGPU, but you would need to calculate the slide number - I tried that, but there were only 1 area of memory I could use, and the slide number for that didn't work. Hopefully that may help someone. I also successfully upgrade to 10.14.6 after doing the changes, and all was fine. EDIT: Forgot to add, you also need to remove anything relating to Intel IGPU in your clover config. @soniferous_fox Apologies, Just looking back and I realise that you brought this solution to the post . Thank you ! after reading the post by Antiapi and reading about the success that @AudioGod and @larabee had I decided to include OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi solution it in the guide. Can you test SSDT-RX-570.aml and see it helps. Hopefully framebuffer will be working on all connectors.
