@MaLd0n has kindly helped to transform the EFI, now with native NVRAM and DSDT. Have a look through the new EFI. Everything working great. EFI is perfect and minimum.

Uses Whatevergreen.kext version 1.3.0 and is very stable, all  port connectors on back of my RX 580 working ( @soniferous_fox ) however if updating to Whatevergreen version1.3.1 then

one of the display ports may not function.  Have not tested this out with SMBIOS for iMac 19,1.  OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi  driver now replaced with AptioMemoryFix.

Whatevergreen should detect your graphics card, see my guide on how to easily change framebuffer.

Time to change it up one more time, sounds awesome brother

Amazing. So, do I need to change anything for it to work with my Vega?

What evergreen should detect your Vega card. I added a section in guide part 10 detailing how to easily change frame buffer using Clover Configurator.  But try bench  marks again with and without framebuffer change.

As I mentioned, have not yet tried out EFI with SMBIOS for iMac 19,1 if you or @AudioGod have time to spare testing it with iMac 19,1 then I would a appreciate it :)

I'm changing my framebuffer in the config.plist file and the Kamarang name is not in the list, so I just typed it in. Not sure if that works or not, trying it out haha.

So is your Vega card detected in PCI info window .?

Il try it out on the system I'm building now for somebody else buddy. What better test rig then using our own? LoL

I'm waiting on a replacment GPU as the one I got for it has a mashup bios lol

Soon as I get it il do it as a 19.1 smbios and see what happens :)

I will go back to my own build in an hour or so when I'm done with this one but until then il let @larabee get it all sussed out and ready so I don't end up asking the same questions haha

@glasgood @AudioGod I'll take one for the team and let you guys know about the various SMBIOS test. This is Friday afternoon here in southern California, so I have plenty of time to test at night after I finish all of my work.

Test 1: Replaced Glasgood's EFI with Mald0n New EFI, Replace Framebuffer name. @glasgood This turns my 56 into 64 for some reasons... Lots and lots of graphic corruption during booting (screen tearing, rainbow lines, yes double rainbows during verbose boot looks super fun), but so far it's still running fine after logging in. Fans appears to be spinning a lot during testing. Temperature within range 66*C max, voltage is within max range of 1250mv too high for my weak vega56 board.

@AudioGod trying beating this score buddy.  I've just had a 30k score jump from 151k to 180k. Will get back with more information

Update to graphic card test after several restarts, the score stablized at 184k:

@glasgood There are a bunch of Glasgood devices in my PCI hahahha. and I need to remove your 960 Pro PCI too...

@glasgood Thanks, I'll take a look! Out of interest, you mention not testing on 19,1, but would there be an advantage to that over iMac Pro 1,1? Also, is AptioMemoryFix meant to be a better option? I notice that they removed that as an official option in Clover now.

iMac Pro generally works best if you have strong graphic cards to take advantage of the power.

In terms of stability with this EFI, we don't know yet, so if you have a chance to test iMac SMbios, jump onboard with me.

So far I have too many kernel panic during boot.

I'm about to try this with iMac 19,1. I'm assuming we should keep the integrated GPU enabled for this? If so, are there any additional changes we need to make to the new EFI folder, like injecting platform ID?

@glasgood Could I just check a couple of things in your new EFI. I needed XHCI-unsupported.kext when setting up my USB ports, can that be removed once that is done and you have a working USBPorts? Also, is EFICheckDisabler.kext not needed now?

Wow, that’s some jump in your bench mark score. What is your score without using Kamarang framebuffer. Does graphics corruption persist without Kamarang? You could try Iriri framebuffer .

turn on iGPU and test to see if the iGPU can be automatically detected and enabled. Double check H264 and VDA decoder is fully supported...

To be honest, iMac Pro 1,1 works very well for me, so I think I will stick with that.

Just thinking back, you have different motherboard?

Iriri framebuffer failed for me. It automatically turns into default framebuffer. It detects my monitor #1 as 2 and display the login in the wrong monitor.

HOWEVER, scores are still the same, 184K.

Suggestion: we all should have our motherboard listed on our signature line so that we know if someone is using a different board. This EFI is already tailored only to Z390 Aorus Pro board and will become less and less compatible with other Z390 board.

So this has gone horribly bad for me :P. When I select boot partition from clover, it immediately goes to a do not enter sign instead of the apple logo. Even worse, when trying to boot from my previously working backup drive, the same thing happens now. So I can't get back into the machine at all. Ideas? Clear CMOS?

What is benchmark score if you drop the framebuffer and ATI inject within Clover ?

Turn off (actual off with power line unplugged) then turn it on again. It happens on mine.

Yeah, it the Z390 M Gaming, so I think I'll give the new EFI a miss - the DSDT scares me :)

Just out of interest, what's the advantage of a DSDT - is it meant to be more stable and efficient?

You should use follow Maldons ==>>guide everything here will be in his EFI.

Yes, more efficient.

Score drops back to normal with ATI Inject unticked. I'm going back to injecting the Kamarang

Did graphic distortion still persist without Kamarang, and did card appear as Vega 56 ?

Without injecting, the graphic glitch is less pronounced, almost unnoticeable and card went back to be vega 56.

With Injection, it turns into Vega 64, has increased OpenCL performance at the cost of heat and noise with glitch at booting.

I tried that before using your guide when first installing and couldn't get it to work. Also, just downloaded the EFI again and there's no DSDT in it anyway. I'm all working nicely now, so I think I'll stick as I am :) Maybe one day I'll read a guide and create my own DSDT!
