GeekBench CPU Result: https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/2737610 THIS IS ONLY FOR THIS MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte z270X Aorus Gaming 5IT WILL NOT WORK IN ANY OTHER MOTHER BOARD!!! DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! Delete the original one and replace with the one inside the archive from step 1. 5 - Go to your bios and set these options (*really important ones): - Bios First boot - Pendrive * Fast boot - disabled * Windows 8/10 features - other os * Lan pxe boot option ROM - disabled Storage boot control - UEFI * Other PCI devices - UEFI - Peripherals Onboard lan Controller - enabled Intel platform thrust technology ptt - disabled * SW guard extension - software controlled USB 3.0 dac-up 2 - normal Front USB 3.0_1 - normal Intel bios guard technology - disabled * - Peripherals - USB configuration Legacy USB support - enabled * Xhci hand off - enabled * USB mass storage driver support - enabled - Peripherals - Sata and RST configuration Sata controllers - enabled Sata mode selection - AHCI * Aggressive LPM support - enabled - Chipset VT-d - disabled * Internal graphics - auto All the other options - enabled - Power Platform Power management - disabled * Ac back - always off Power on by keyboard - disabled Power on by mouse - disabled Erp - disabled Soft off by power button - instant off Power loading - auto Resume by alarm - disabled Rc6 render standby - enabled 6 - Boot your pendrive and on the Clover boot screen choose the option "Boot Mac OS Install MacOS". 7 - In the first screen choose the language and than at the top menu open the application DISK UTILITY. 8 - Select the HD where you gonna install the OS and click on ERASE button. Use these options: - Name: Any name you want - Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) - Scheme: GUID 9 - Click on erase and wait for the formating. 10 - Close the disk utility and back to the install follow the steps, select the HD you already formated and perform the install. 11 - After the install, DON'T remove the pendrive yet. You need it to boot the system for now. Boot from pendrive and now on the Clover boot screen choose the HD you already installed the system, "Boot from MacOS". 12 - Now you have the system on, install the latest version of Clover boot (the install pkg is inside the archive from step 1). At the “INSTALLATION TYPE” screen, click on the “CUSTOMIZE” button and check the boxes only for these options: - Install for UEFI Boot Only - Install Clover in the ESP - Bootloader -> Don’t update MBR and PBR Sectors - Themes (any you want) - Drivers64UEFI -> Fat-64 - Drivers64UEFI -> PartitionDxe-64 - Install Clover Preference Pane (optional) 13 - Click on install and finish the installation. Now you can remove your Boot Pendrive. 14 - Open the Clover Configurator and goes to the “MOUNT EFI”. At the right column theres a “EFI Partitions” box with all the EFI partitions. Look for the one of the mac and click on “MOUNT PARTITION” and then click on “OPEN PARTITION”. 15 - Inside the folder EFI there’s a folder called “CLOVER”. Repleace this folder with the one inside the “System Boot Clover Folder” which you can find in the archives you downloaded at the step 1. Just delete the original one on EFI partition and paste the other one in the same place. 16 - Run the Olarila.command inside the archives of the step 1 and wait for the “completed” message. 17 - Restart the system WITHOUT the boot pendrive. Go to the BIOS Settings and change the first option boot to the HD where u installed the MacOS. Save and reboot. 18 - Download this DMG and install the update from 10.12 to 10.12.4. THIS IS IMPORTANT! THE NVIDIA 10xx VIDEO CARD SERIES ONLY WORKS ON THIS OS VERSION! https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1910?locale=en_US 19 - Now the last step, install NVidia Driver. Download the latest version of the NVidia Web Driver and install it. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/312525-nvidia-web-driver-updates-for-macos-sierra-update-04192017/(choose the latest version for your system - 10.12.4 in this case). 20 - Download and install NVidia Cuda Drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html YOU ARE READY TO GO!!! But you can use the F12 key to go to BIOS Boot Screen and select the Windows HD to boot. It’s fine - Front panel audio ports So, resuming the system is working PERFECT! Like a charm! Everything works and the machine is CRAZY fast now! Hope it goes fine for everyone too. Cya! VirusX
Thanks for your guide. Regarding the uploaded archive on mega.nz: I would recommend creating at least on other mirror that is not a one-click-hoster (preferably dropbox/google drive), since those hosters delete files after a certain time of inactivity, or randomly get closed down. If the archive isn't too big, you can also attach it to your post. Or at least the smaller files. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/323370-gb-z270x-aorus-gaming-5-i7-7700k-gtx-1070-working-perfect/#findComment-2422293 Share on other sites
filo25
Thank you very much for the guide! I had to change a few things up for me, as it seems like my Pendrive that I was using to create the boot wasnt working properly (I was using a 64gb one, if that makes a difference). So I skipped the Boot Pendrive steps entirely. What I did instead, is use another mac to install Sierra 10.12 directly onto the HD via USB. Then I installed the given Clover install onto the HD, and copied the given folder for "System". After that, I changed the Bios settings on the hackintosh, and booted it up through the HD and followed the steps to update it etc. Works perfectly for me, however 4k does not seem to be working. I can get the hackintosh to run at home with my 144hz 1080p monitor via DVI, as well as my 1080p monitor via HDMI. However, when I bring it over to my studio, we have a 4k 60hz tv as the main display, and nothing seems to be working. I get the black screen, as if it isnt recognizing either the GPU or the display it self. I was able to plug in another monitor, and then plugin the 4k TV as a secondary and it seemed to work (however, only at 1080p as that is what my other display was, and it only works in mirror mode). Which leads me to believe it has something to do with the 4k. I have an HDMI 2.0 cable, and it didnt work through that (black screen on startup). I tried a HDMI to DP 1.2 adapter, still same thing. Next i will be trying a different HDMI to DP1.2 adapter that has been known to work with 4k for others. We will see how that goes, and if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I do realize that it appears that mac does not natively have support for HDMI 2.0, but some have gotten it to work with the HDMI to DP1.2 adapter, the one in particular is the one from Club3D. CrashMidnick
To boot windows via Clover, try to re-enable the windows feature in your bios (where you changed by other OS). It worked for me and I am still able to boot to Sierra. It cost nothing, give it a try Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/323370-gb-z270x-aorus-gaming-5-i7-7700k-gtx-1070-working-perfect/#findComment-2435388 Share on other sites

Nubira
For video editing/colorgrading and correction you need a dedicated monitor card something like the blackmagic design intensity pro or the blackmagic design intensity pro 4k or if you get the the ga alpine ridge pcie to thunderbolt add in card and the minimonotor and recorder external thunderbolt cards. Just using the graphicscard or the onboard graphics will not work very good. If you want to watch movies or to game with your rig well thats another story. Nubira
This old thread still help me even in 2024! The case is my harddrive with my original Sierra install on crashed. I still run Sierra cause it has been running just fine through out the years and I mostly use it for an older version of Davinci Resolve. I have an old Nvidia 8 gig gtx 1080 card in it so there is no reason to upgrade to newer versions. I manage to reinstall Sierra on an old HDD so it is running fine again but I get no audio over the HDMI port no more. If someone remembers how to make audio on the HDMI port work please give me some tips. I have been pulling my hair for a week now looking for info on audio with this videocard but so far I got nothing. Slice
If you mean Nvidia HDMI output then I may propose VoodooHDA will work with it. I bought an active displayport to HDMI adapter and it fixed that problem. On this gtx 1080 videocard there are two displayports and audio output probably work on both. I have a gigabyte alpine ridge thunderbolt card in this computer and if I make it work like a real mac card it will probably allow even more displays.
