--Reboot and activate video!

Hi, MaLd0n,

Same system as yours, so its like some copy paste stuff, but this, what do you mean 'activate video'?

Seems I missed something...

By the way, thanks for the guide.

what if you can't generate a dsdt on the comp. that you need it for? So I tried using your DSDT (its similar, but not an exact model). my hackintosh's motherboard died (RIP), and I replaced it with a GA-Z270X-UD5. I've got a USB install drive setup, but it seems to spit out a bunch of garbage before just stalling out to a blank screen. any ideas?

Thanx MaLd0n,

Took another wack at it this AM. Same thing...about ready to just leave it alone untill official support arrives.

BTW-not injecting video, old GA-Z77X-UD5H was over 5 years old and was having several issues before it just went kaput, guess trying to use your dsdt was in an act of desperation :}.

One last thought, how can I go about viewing/saving a bootlog to find out what the problem is? I added a boot argument to create one every boot but didn't know where to save it/view it?...so didn't find nething :(

its a i7700K 4.2GHz

But will that give me anything useful (F2)?

When the install times out, my display loses sync and goes to sleep. Consequently, there's no I/O after that point. :(

progress, sortof.

Inject Nvidia didn't help, but nv_disable=1 got me to the installer. However the same installation error message that I've been getting for a few weeks now appeared. "macOS could not be installed on your computer" an error occurred, blah, blah, blah...RESTART.

There are several other OS's on this computer that are operating flawlessly. CPU, motherboard, and memory are all brand new. I'm lost.

Hi guys. Just wanted to say this is my new favorite forum for mac hacks

I'm trying to get mojave to work, and using the guide's (moderator made, on the front page) clover folder I ALMOST got it! T.T

There's something still wrong tho. lol.

      - Install to a HDD formated as case-sensitive APFS goes black at 2 minutes remaining. Is it supposed to fill the progress bar 100%? If so then I have a problem.
      - Assuming the install went well, I tried to boot to "MacOS Prebooter" from clover screen and got that error.

I have a Z170m ASUS, awesome board. I'm sure it can be done. With Intel 6700k.
      Latest clover. Guide's clover config!!

      What do you guys think?
      - mobo config problem
      - other hardware thing (I have many harddrives connected?)
      - clover config
      - need some driver/kext
      - something else

      THANK YOU!

PS: I've tried upgrading with the App store download on a Sierra system to arrive in the same screen, with the same error.
I'll also spend some time today searching the forums. Just busy atm, and thanks for any help or tips!!

Hi. I'm currently on AppleALC.kext with layout ID 3. Clover's a boot argument contains alcid=3.

      Problem:

Case: Happens only in case of earphones.
Problem description: The sound is somewhat like an echo where I'm hardly able to hear the vocals of a song. And the music sounds as if it's being playing under water. I later went to audio devices and tried checking the checkbox shown in the image below. I did improve the sound and I was finally able to hear vocals of a song in a much better way, however, it still doesn't sound like a proper sound. Is there any more configuration that I need to make?

The reason I'm able to differentiate the bad and the good sound output is because on High Sierra, using AppleHDA patch, the sound worked fine using AppleHDA patcher.

      Buongiorno a tutti,

      - Ho aggiornato Lilu e aggiunto WhateverGreen nella cartella EFI/Clovers/Kexts/10.14 & EFI/Clovers/Kexts/Other
      - Ho rimosso IntelGraphicsFixup & Shiki
( Vedere config.plist in allegato)

      Grazie in anticipo

This is bothering me for a long time now: Why does Apple deliberately disables the the RX4xx, RX5xx capabilities to hardware encode HEVC and is using Intel Quicksync instead? Is it to make the iMacPro look better than it is? I stumbled over a thread at tony-mac where people are going a totally different road for Radeon graphics. Instead of hassling around with getting Quicksync to work, they proposed to activate the AMD hardware renderer for Polaris GPU's. I tried it out and it works...somewhat

I used a dummy kext from that tomato thread and edited it, so that it enables the AMDU7V4 IOGVACodec like on Vega cards, switched to iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS from iMac18,3, disabled the IGPU and the results were astonishing:
My 3:34min 4k50p film was rendered by FCP with HEVC in 2:34 minutes. Nearly half the time than with Quicksync! With the iMac18 SMBIOS and the "help" of Intel Quicksync it took FCP 4:41 minutes to get it done!

The problem is: As soon as the "wrong" IOGVACodec is enabled H.264 encoding leads to Mojave crashing at once (be it FCP, QuickTime or Videoproc). Watching H264 material is fine, though.

If anyone has any idea how to handle this, I would be very grateful. I would even accept Mojave using software encoding for H264 if I could keep this amazing speeds on HEVC!

BTW: Without IGPU on iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS no problem with DRM or iTunes, no need for Whatevergreen or Shiki. That is a bonus
