Mac-Pro-de-gils:~ gils$

what did the file "boot" do? is it meant to replace the chameleon boot file? i still cannot install osx on my amd PC. about a year ago i tried to make the maverick installation, it can be booted and enter the installation GUI but i cannot detect my hardisk, but i forgot which kext files i used to make the installation usb disk. All i remember that i used bronya version of the kernel. This week i tried to install yosmite. but it stuck on PCI configuration begin. I tried all possible kernel parameters combination such as npci=0x2000/0x3000 PCIRootUID=0/1 etc. On virtualbox the installation usb disk stop at kernel panic related with hwsensor and netkas fakesmc something...

my hardware are AMD Phenom II X4 945, with biostar A880G+ mobo, onboard radeon HD 4250 vga. Right now i just want to be able to enter the installation GUI like i did with maverick.

Another bizarre issue I have only when the nvidia web drivers are loaded for my GTX 960 (doesn't happen if I use nv_disable=1) - Finder freezes up when opening a new window or tab, but only in icon and cover flow view. List and column mode work great and don't freeze it at all. I have deleted all DS_Store files on my drive and it still happens in those modes only. Again, it seems like a kernel issue working with the nvidia web driver.

same problem here, its look like anything crash the Nvidia Web Drivers...

i put "AppleNForceATA.imk64bit.kext" into E/E make new mkext, and repair the rights but it doesn't help.

changing the SMBios.plist from iMac 14.2 / 14.1 // Mac Pro 3.1 / 4.2 doesn't help too :(

my system

CPU: AMD FX-8350

Mainboard: Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

Graphiccard:MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G

1 Display via DP 144HZ 2560x1440

1 Display via DVI 1280x1042

Here are the error logs from the Console

Hey first thanks for your time and answer.

AppleTyMCEDriver.kext was already removed, so i remove only the AppleCPUPowerManagement.kext but nothing changed  :(.

Here are the new console logs, if you need other logs then tell which one :D i upload it then for you.

@Smallinger
I can not say with certainty what exact the cause of your problems is, but you can try only step by step to find the cause of the problem.

1) Which amd kernel you are using? ==> you have to use an executable kernel for FX CPUs.
2) which bootflag you are using? GraphicsEnabler=No/Yes nv_disable=1 (without WebDriver) nv_drive=1 (with  WebDriver)
PCIRootUID=0 / 1
3) have you installed the current WebDriver? if not, then use this tool to update the drivers.
4) have you tested to remove the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext and test with LegacyAGPM.kext, modified for your system?

good luck

good luck

1) The kernel that i use is

"Darwin Marcs-Mac-Pro 14.5.0 Darwin Kernel Version 14.5.0: So 25 Okt 2015 06:31:33 PDT; mein:10.10.5_SSEPlus_V3/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64" (Link)

2) I boot with "-v npci=0x2000 nvda_drv=1" if i boot with "GraphicEnabler=Yes" then only 1 Display work the DVI one, but the problem is not gone :(.

With "PCIRootUID=1 i can't reach the system its hangs on the bootscreen, so i must use "PCIRootUID=0".

I must use "nv_disable=1" only for the first Installation, to get over the bootscreen, after i install the Webdrivers i changed to "nvda_drv=1".

3) Yes! i use it from the beginning to get the latest driver for "Yosemite 10.10.5 - 14F1605"

4) Soo after editing the info.plist in AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext most of the freezes are gone.... i can open the finder and its take only 3-5 secs to open not like befor 1-2 mins FINALY, but now i have a other problem only 20 FPS in Cinebench and the performance are really badly.

use the original APGM and try boot with using these bootflag and reports:

kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x2000 / npci=0x3000 GraphicsEnabler=No usekernelcache=No nvda_drv=1 darkwake=8 (9,10 or 11)

(use AppleNForceATA.imk64bit.kext in E/Extensions)

(use AppleNForceATA.imk64bit.kext in E/Extensions)

So after rollback  the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext to the Original One,i repair the Permissions and rebuild the cache, using the AppleNForceATA.imk64bit.kext in E/Extensions.

And changing the boot parameter too

"kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=No UseKernelCache=No nvda_drv=1 darkwake=8 (9,10 or 11)"

The Cinebench Performance goes up to 49FPS.

But now i have the big Problem with the Frezzing UI and the long waiting Rainbow Wheel back and the GPUReset like the old logs, i think the Editing of the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext was better for this problem with the UI, but then i have bad performance on the Graphicscard... like the 22FPS mhm

i want to say thank you again for the help, and your endurance, even if the problem is not yet fixed

Ok, i must say that i can't find the Problem with the Spinning Wheel.... and the Frezzes, i reinstall the System more then 100times everytime with other settings, but nothing work.

If i patch the AGPM, then the System have only 20fps on Desktop all things are very slow and the performance are really bad.

If i don't patch the AGPM then the fps are better but then i have really long frezzes and Spinning Wheels, and that all after installing the NVIDIA Web Drivers, i can't say waht is the problem, i hope anyone got anytime a fix for that.

OpenGL Extensions Viewer crash on startup.

Here my IOREG file, and hope anyone can help me...

Smallinger, we have the exact same issue and very similar hardware. nothing has fixed my issue, including the NForceATA kext. I still think it's a kernel problem. I just built a hackintosh for a guy the other day that has the same graphics card but with a new Skylake i7 and it worked great with the nvidia web drivers. not sure what to do about my AMD setup at this point.

Hi,does anyone else had problems with the last update to Yosemite 10.10.5?

Cannot boot with the 10.10.5 kernel ,just restarts automatically !

Any solutions?  :)

You need to replace the kernel again after the update.

do you use this package for your FX CPU? if not then install: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/354-amd-replace-kext-for-yosemite/

With a patched dsdt, your GTX 970 graphics card will work, I have been tested successfully in recent weeks.

Using AMD and OSX is not a dream anymore, all thanks for your guys.

I Tested bronya 10.10.5 rc1 kernel

Tora Chi Yo (IOPCIFamily)/ Thank you Troa, before I had to use two kexts(Appleacpiplatform + iopcifamily/which fixed black screen but also damaged serial number). Now with your kext it's enough , but unfortunately the Gpu is running at 150Mhz very low fps 13 compared to 80 in Windows cinebench r15.

As far as I know some people have same Gpu but in Intel and running very well at full speed. And they don't need iopcifamily,

So do you think it's related to kernel or kext or AGPM

I almost tried everything, is there something missing I should test?

My specs

Asus M5A97 le rev 2+ AMD FX 8350+ Asus R7 260x OC.

10.10.5 OSX.
