Perhaps de kext for your wifi isn't charged !

You have to disable or configure SIP.

You can do that in Clover bootloader /Rt Variables: BooterConfig =0x028 and CsrActiveConfig=0x067

After that configure you wifi in System preferences/Network then WLAN

I disabled SIP using csrutil disable, since I couldn't do it using SIPUtility or KCPM Pro.

Anyway, even disabling using csrutil, it didn't fully disable SIP I think, because when I open KCPM or SIPUtily the following security flags are enable:

CRS_ALLOW_KERNEL_DEBUGGER - B3

CRS_ALLOW_DEVICE_CONFIGURATION - B7

Not sure why I can't disable it.

If I try to disable it using KCPM using NVRWAM it says "An error occurred", and ask me to disable using Bootloader.

So I'm not sure, you guys that disabled SIP correctly , do you use any boot loader like Clover ?

not sure if I need it ...

It´s working now, thank you !

It was not need to disable that security flags... my issues was with the driver version, I was using the wrong one.

But let me ask you something, do you know if it's possible to change or spoof the mac address ?

I used this kext with my Tp-link wn727n and it worked, but still have 2 problem:

-My Yosemite takes long times to shutdown, about 20 seconds to totally shutdown, it takes 5 seconds be4

-When reset or open PC in the next time, PC does not recognize my USB wifi, I have to unplug, plug again, do you know why?

waiting for your help, so many thanks!

Update: after rebuild cache twice, my pc auto recognize usb wifi, but I have to connect to my wireless network manual, I already add my network profile but it didnt work, any solution?

Hi guys, first time poster, after a full evening of unsuccessfully trying to get my USB Wifi working.

Specs:

OS: El Capitan

USB: EDUP 802.11N - apparently based on MT7601 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321876475117)

Where I got to:

Disabled SIP:

 Screen_Shot_2015_12_22_at_10_04_49_PM.pn

Manually placed the RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext in the folder but got this:

Screen_Shot_2015_12_22_at_10_08_59_PM.pn

Instead installed the all-in-one kext (http://www.osx86.net/file/4587-all-in-one-kext-for-realtek-wireless-usb-adapters-el-capitan-ready/).

Installed the Mediatek Wireless Utility - doesn't launch when I click on "Open Wireless Utility", tried Bear Extender 5.4, same result.

Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance!!

Did you use latest Clover version ? Because Clover has to be version r3258 at least for total El Capitan support !

Read elsewhere found this package  by  m.gbt

I did not try it !!

After days of search, finally got a working one from ALFA Network (http://alfanetworkinc.blogspot.tw/2015/12/mac-os-x-10.html), and the Ralink RT3070 based USB wireless adapter ALFA AWUS036NH works well on El Capitan of my MBA.

For anyone who has a RALINK USB adapter, and is seeking the El Capitan driver, recommend to try this; a bit secure than the SIP utility in system privilege access.

NETGEAR A6210 based on MT7612U is working for me on OSX El Capitan 10.11.2.

I've first installed the attached kext with kext wizard and then installed the official mediatek package: http://cdn-cw.mediatek.com/Downloads/macosx/MT7610U_D5.0.1.25_SDK1.0.2.18_UI5.0.0.27_20150429.dmg

Yes, you can by using these commands in Terminal:

sudo -i

rm -Rvf /System/Library/CoreServices/StatusBarApp.app

rm -Rvf /System/Library/Extensions/RtWlanU.kext

rm -Rvf /Applications/Wireless\ Network\ Utility.app

After that, restart your computer.

rt2070 does not work on Yosemite -- it kernel panics on boot with a page fault. I realize this is ancient chipset so the virtual address mappings might be different. Is there source code to the driver that I can use to hack at?

Okay, I'm looking through the RT2870STA Linux driver source code, and there doesn't appear to be any special treatment for Rt2070 vs Rt2870, even though the driver works on both chipsets. In theory, the driver provided by MediaTek should work for my Rt2070 then. Although, if I patch the Info.plist to add my vendor ID for the Linksys WUSB54GC v3, the kernel panic happens on boot. I suspect to get farther than this, I will need to attach a remote kernel debugger.

Unfortunately, I do not have all my hardware where I am residing right now in order to pull this off. How bad does the world want Rt2070 support? I can probably get it working, but I'd have to invest considerable time and energy to do so.

i get all the time:

chown: /System/Library/Extensions/webdav_fs.kext: Operation not permitted

and then:

You must be running as root to update system kext caches.

But i'm the admin and the root

I do the sudo nvram boot-args=kext-dev-mode=1 as well but nothing happens.

I have a 3.1 mac pro without wifi from factory and yosemite 10.10.5

As always get rid of your old kexts, app and preference files before you install this !

Good luck

Hello , thanks for this guide.
I read all the pages but ,although somebody managed to run  my same usb dongle : EP-N8531 , I can not.
aEVppAH.png
On http://pcidatabase.com/vendor_details.php?id=728i checked my device, it does have a  Ralink RT2870

I am on El Capitan 10.11.3 , I disabled SIP,  but although the dongle is recognised it seems "blind" : it can not see any wifi around me.
