1. Updated Ralink/Mediatek drivers for USB dongles released at 29/11/2013. MAVERICKS AND YOSEMITE COMPATIBLE Drivers downloaded from http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/usb-rt2870rt2770rt3x7xrt537xrt5572/ I made a zip file with oficial drivers and a preference pane from dlink that replace the oficial ralink wireless utility. This solve the problematic Ralink Wireless Utility that simply does not work on yosemite and the package doesn´t install the maverick kext in yosemite. ZIP CONTENTS DLINK PREFERENCE PANE INSTALATION Copy preference pane to \System\Library\PreferencePanes\ Copy kext for your MacOS version (use Maverick for Yosemite) to folder \System\Library\Extensions\ Repair permissions Rebuild kext cache Reboot. 3. First, system specs: Abit IP35 Pro MB Core2Quad Q6600 CPU Geforce 8400GS 256MB GPU Corsair Dominator 4GB DDR 1066 RAM (4x1GB sticks) 320GB WD Blue Hard Drive MacAlly Keyboard MacAlly Mouse Initially followed the install process from (the site that shall not be named) to get Snow Leopard installed, then used another tool from same site to upgrade to El Capitan. In the process, boot manager was changed from Chameleon to Clover. When Clover gets past init(6), the boot process halts and the num lock/power lights start blinking on my USB keyboard. Unplugging said keyboard allows Clover to complete boot. Luckily, I still have a PS2 keyboard which works with Clover (it now stays plugged in at the same time as the USB keyboard). When I had Snow Leopard installed, it didn't do this, so I'm assuming it's a Clover problem. I've tried: - Plugging keyboard into all USB ports (both with and without the PS2 keyboard plugged in) - Changing BIOS Keyboard settings to both "OS" and "BIOS". - Updating Clover to latest version and installing UsbKbDxe-64 driver. I tried searching for a DSDT, but only found one for the non-Pro IP35. Other Google searching has fixes for UEFI booting systems and different MacOS versions, but nothing that applies to this MB. Thoughts?
4. Hi, my OSX is working so far, but not for the USB part. My USB Ports are only working when i boot via the USB drive to my current installation. When i use the HDD to boot, all USB ports are deactivated or something. I'm on 10.11.4 The HDD and the USB are using the same clover config. Notebook: Asus K52JV Intel i5 480M Nvidia GT 540M 8GB DDR3 I've already tried to play around with usb ownership, injection and the USBInjectAll kext. All of them doesn't work Someone knows more? Thanks
5. Guide--Creating a OS X installer(Iatkos ML2)from windows only. Note:This guide is for those who don't have access to a mac and for some reasons cannot install the retail image on virtualbox. What you will need:::: 1.A Windows PC. 2.Two USB Flash drives. One of at least 8 GB and the other of atleast 1 GB. 3.dmg2img,Win32diskimager,and bootdiskutility. 4.Last but not the least,an Iatkos_ML2 image based on OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2.(I cannot provide you the link to download Iatkos. You are on your own in downloading this one.) NOTE : Iatkos distributions are the modified copies of Mac OS X made to be able to work on a PC. I STRONGLY ADVISE USE THIS TEMPORARILY to set up OS X on your computer and then create a installer from a LEGACY PURCHASED retail image. For more info on Iatkos visit http://iatkos.me The Steps::::: 1.Connect the 1 GB USB stick on your computer. 2.Run Bootdiskutility, select your USB from the list and click on Format disk. The utility will install clover and chameleon bootloaders on your USB drive. 3.Decompress the dmg2img folder and move the Iatkos_ML2.dmg file in the folder containing the dmg2img.exe file. 4.Right click on the folder containing dmg2img.exe while HOLDING DOWN SHIFT KEY i.e Shift+Right click and select "Open command window here" from the context menu. 5.On the command window type the following without the quotes "dmg2img Iatkos_ML2.dmg" and press enter. This will create a Iatkos_ML2.img file in the same folder.(see screenshot) 6.Now plugin your 8 GB USB drive,Decompress the win32diskimager folder and run the win32diskimager.exe file.Select the Iatkos_ML2.img file created in previous step and your 8 GB USB drive and click on Write.Ignore the warnings. This will write the OS X installer on the USB drive.(see screenshot) 7.Now plugin both your USB drives on the computer on which you want to install OS X.On the boot prompt SELECT THE 1 GB USB DRIVE.Clover bootloader will be loaded and your OS X installer USB will show up on the boot devices list.DONT CLICK DIRECTLY ON THE INSTALLER.CLICK ON "BOOT UEFI MENU FROM CLOVER" FIRST AND THEN SELECT YOUR INSTALLER.Also don't change any of the clover settings. OS X installer must boot now on your computer. You will see that the installer language is in Russian, you can change that easily by clicking on the first box. NOTE:Chameleon bootloader cannot detect the USB created by this method.

Booting problem

Hi everyone, i successfully managed to install Yosemite 10.10.1 (Niresh) on my Toshiba laptop. Chameleon installed itself while installing Yosemite, so i was able to boot without the usb flawlessly. Everything was working fine, and i decided to put the laptop to sleep manualy, since closing the tray didn't do anything. This caused the computer to shutdown by itself and when i tried to boot again, i passed the toshiba logo and all i can ser now is the blinking line, wihtout any text. I tried to insert the usb but this came up: "boot0:doneboot1: /boot" with the blinking line at the end. I tried to re-write the usb, but the same thing happen. Can someone help me out please?? Thanks in advance
8. Hi all, I use this setup (X79 Deluxe - 4930K - HD6870) as an audio rig. It all works fine, I'm only experiencing stability issues with everything USB (audio sound card, MIDI controllers). Logic Pro X keeps randomly losing sync with them. I installed GenericUSBXHCI (v1.2.11) from the rampagedev X79 dmg. Has anyone successfully used other USB kexts? I mostly use USB 2 ports. Thanks!
9. I'm looking to buy a USB wireless network adapter for a Mac Pro. What is a good device that has been confirmed to work with 10.10 Yosemite?
10. I made my USB boot drive using #####, but when I select it as my boot device, and try to boot, it says: boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: done And it just stops there, with a blinking cursor. I can't get to the installation screen. Does anyone know what problem I'm having, and how I can fix it? Thanks
11. I'm having a few relatively minor issues with my USB 2.0 ports. They function at the Clover menu, but turn off during boot. Once the OS X login screen appears there's about a ~10 second delay before they start working properly. All my USB 3.0 ports work immediately at the login screen. My other issue, and I'm not sure this is related but if I have my GMYLE usb bluetooth adapter plugged into a USB 2.0 port, I get a full USB hub reset every 10 - 15 minutes or so. When it's in a USB 3.0 port there are no hub resets. Otherwise all the USB ports seem to function correctly using PJALM's DSDT patches only.
12. Hey guys, I'm new to this ans this is my first post... I have never had to post anything before, I always found the solution myself. But this time, I seriously need some help. My cousin has a Macbook Pro 2015 running El Capitan on it. So we were following step by step every single thing we saw in this youtube video : We got to the point where we had to boot from the USB. Everything was working perfectly. I had the apple logo, progress bar was going smoothly until it filled completely. And then I waited... And waited... And waited... nothing. Decided to try verbose mode. Got this : "com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (org.ntp.sntp.117) 《Warning》: Service exited with abnormal code: 255" So... started doing what I do best.. Googling! I found SO MANY THINGS. Tried moving my kexts, tried putting some stuff in the boot args, so many things... now I'm just lost. It's an intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM, intel HD graphics, so basically all intel... Should work, no?
13. Hello everybody, I am using El Capitan on WS Pro 11 (the same problem persists also in WS 12). I got everything installed just fine using the unlocker tool. However, I am also using a USB to serial device for work (this guy http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documents/DataSheets/Cables/DS_UT232R-500.pdf). I have installed thee driver in OS X without problems. Now, when I am trying to pass the device through using WS11 (or WS12) I get: "USB Connection Error" The relevant part of log file is pasted below. I tried it on a macbook pro and it worked out the box, no driver necessary. I am a little baffled as to what is going on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 14. Hi. I'm new in the forums, so if this topic already exist, I didn't find it. It may be a dummy question, but I've been searching all around the web for 2 days and I haven't found the right answer. I think for this question I have tu use an example IMPORTANT .. in the next example I DIDN'T USE ANY KIND OF BOOTLOADER 1.- In VMWare the new machine is created as mac, and nothing important to be modified 2.- the installer is created in an already existing (virtual) mac (may be a Niresh one) 3.- In the past .. I used to create an installer (VERY IMPORTANT - to be used in VIRTUAL MACHINES, and AMD CPU), let's say Mavericks installer. I created a new HD (which was used as a USB stick), then I did the restore procedure to get the installer. then the only thing to be replaced was the mach_kernel in root of the installer, so I copied and replaced that kernel for the patched one. then I attached this HD (the installer) to the new Virtual Machine and booted from the HD just created (the installer), and the installer ran without issues. I installed the OS and the last step was boot from the installer again, utilities -> terminal and go to replace the kernel in the root of the new created system. and everything worked nice!!! MY BIG QUESTION: BUT .. in YOSEMITE and EL CAPITAN --- I can't find where is the kernel in the installer just created to be replaced for the patched one!!! please take in account that I'm not using any kind of bootloader!! I created the /System/Library/Kernels directory (in the installer) and dropped the patched kernel there, but didn't work .. it seems like the installer reads the kernel from other source I hope someone can help me. My stuff: OS: Linux (Kubuntu) CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 GPU: Nvidia GTS 250 MB: ASUS m2n sli deluxe RAM: 8GB Thanks Guillermo
15. In El Capitan my Z77X-UP5 TH motherboard used to be able to output higher current power through the USB ports, so I could charge some devices. After updating to Sierra, it has since stopped working. It required DSDT to work properly, and didn't require the "High Current" option in Clover to be turned on (I didn't even noticed it until it stopped working). Was there a significant change to USB in Sierra that could have caused it? I'll attach both my vanilla and patched DSDT.
16. I used Boot Disk Utility(http://adf.ly/1LHMts) to burn the Clover bootloader and Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard.iso onto my Lexar USB 16GB(I made two partition). When i try to boot into Hazard it showed soo many codes then it just stop, why does it do that?is there anyway to fix this? Here's a video to show you the problem:http://www.megafileupload.com/4Qc8/Clover_won_t_boot.mp4

MIDI detection

Strange and deeply frustrating thing happening in my brand new Hack build, intended for audio production: My MIDI interface, a Unitor 8mkII and my Novation Launchpad are being detected by the system profiler under USB ports, but NOT being detected by applications such as Audio MIDI setup or Ableton Live. I installed OSX via tonymac's method of ##### ML 1.7.0 and ##### 5.2.1. My system definition is iMac 13,1 since this seems to be the profile that actually matches my hardware the best. I know certainly that it's not a cable issue, since the devices are being detected in the Sys Profiler and on my Macbook Pro. I know that it's not an inherent issue of drivers since Audio MIDI set up does detect these devices perfectly well in OS10.8.2 on my Macbook Pro. I know that it's not a universal problem of MIDI device detection on my Hackintosh because Audio MIDI setup detects another device, my Keystation 88, perfectly well. I know it isn't an issue of ports, since I've swapped the ports for each device; the K88 always is always detected and the other devices are not. Please, any help troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated!! ___ PS. my boot time is very slow and geek bench score about 3000 points lower on OSX ML than on Windows 8 for the same machine... if anyone wants to make suggestions or point to resources on this it'd be appreciated. thank you

This is a new updated kext and utility directly from MediaTek for the MT7610U and MT7612U network chipset. This utility was updated and released on January 20th 2016 on MediaTek website. I have the Netgear A6210 AC1200-WiFi USB 3.0 Adapter and it works perfectly under OSX 10.11.2 with USB 3.0 and 5GHz networks being recognized. It should work for any card with one of those two chips. UPDATE 10/1/2016 I have had some serious trouble updating my system to macOS 10.12 Sierra but I have finally seemed to have gotten it working. When I have done a clean install and installing this package afterwards, It didn't seem to work. However after updating a working copy of El Capitan to Sierra with this package already installed, it seems to work. So as of this post, this same package does work under macOS 10.12 Sierra but you might have some trouble like I have until mediatek performs their own official update. UPDATE 10/26/16 I have finally figured out what is going on with this installer package. When you run this package as is, it will not install the kext on macOS sierra. It will install the wireless utility and all associated files but not the actual kext. I have included the kext as a standalone as well. Install the Kext with kext utility then run the installer pkg. Reboot and you will have a perfectly working USB wireless stick. Confirmed working macOS 10.12.1
21. Hey guys! I had some oldish hardware lying around and have installed 10.7.4 Lion through the myHack USB installer. It was pretty painless. I then attempted to make some things work - ethernet, sound, etc. All fine with the right kexts. It was then that I'd discovered DSDT editing, and got quite excited. I was hoping that It'd fix some of my problems, and I'm pretty sure it did - I got the DSDT editor, downloaded some patches and applied them. BOOM! Sleep started working when I pressed the Sleep button. Not only that, but it would *wake up* from sleep at the press of a mouse button. Sound was fine, video was fine, using the built in eSATA ports was fine, USB was fine... There are only 2.1 issues left. 1. When I power the machine off, the light on my USB keyboard is still on. This light is *not* on when I send the computer to sleep manually. 2. The DVD drive I had in there originally (an ASUS DRW 2014l1t) would behave strangely most of the time - pressing the eject button would fling the tray open at a great speed, and then refuse to close. ... and the .1 of an issue, is that I'm not entirely sure which patches I've applied anymore, and which ones I should still apply - I'm not entirely sure how pimped my DSDT is. Accompanying this is a question - does anyone think that I can get my DVD drive to not be such a {censored} with an edited DSDT? Is there a way to get the USB keyboard and mouse lights to switch off once I shutdown the computer? Also, I'm reasonably confident that I've enabled the right C and P states for my CPU to step - but how do I tell If it does? Cheers for any input at all guys! I'll chuck in some files on request... 22. Hi all, I have a Dell Optiplex 780 that I am making into a Hackintosh. I created the USB installer with ##### (Clover as Bootloader in Legacy Mode), and I have an EFI partition along with the main partition. I changed my BIOS to boot with Legacy mode, and I get to the Clover menu just fine. I will select the "Start OSX from USB" option, and it displays the Apple Logo and everything. It then goes verbose on me and says something about AHCI before rebooting. I am using no bootflags whatsoever, using a DSDT.aml configured for my DGPU, and correct kexts. Dedicated GPU: AMD ATI RadeonHD 5450 (512MB) Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.0GHz) 2GB Ram 160 GB SATA Hard Disk Thanks in advance!
23. Hi guys, I have a bunch of USB-related issues going on with my Hackintosh. It's a vanilla install done via myHack and no DSDT edits so far. It's running on NullCPUPowerManagement and I want to get off those crutches but I heard I have to go with an iMac12,1 system definition so...but that's a story for later! Right now the urgent issue is that whenever a USB mobile device (e.g. NOT a keyboard, mouse, flash drive) such as my iPhone or Android device is plugged into any of the USB ports provided by my motherboard, the computer refuses to sleep. Whenever I put the thing to sleep, it instantly wakes up. This, coupled with the fact that the computer does not fully shut down but executes the OS X shutdown procedure and exits the operating system leaving me with an unresponsive black screen, means that whenever I want to leave my computer without wasting power I have to force-shut down or forego charging my devices... My build is based on a Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H Rev. 1.1 on the latest BIOS, which should be a trouble-free build. It's also running on the native Mavericks IOUSBFamily.kext and NOT GenericUSBXHCI.kext. I found the generic USB 3.0 kext to cause freezes when I'm using SuperSpeed devices. Also of note is the fact that my motherboard supports what Gigabyte calls ON/OFF Charge, which supplies electricity to USB devices even when the system is sleeping or powered down. I myself am suspecting an issue with that handover of USB devices between the OS and motherboard firmware. My second issue is that I have a PCIe card to provide me with a second USB 3.0 header. It works perfectly fine in Windows, but it's not recognized in OS X. In fact, the only PCIe device that the system sees is the graphics card (GTX 770). I know from Windows that the USB card has a Renesas controller, if that helps. Is there any way to get these two things working?
24. Hello nice people, What I wanted to do that is the following : For example on the hackintosh to make a backup on an internal sata disk (remote backup with rsync for example, or something else) . Then if something goes wrong with the hack I should be able to remove this internal hard disk and to connect it to a real mac in USB ,so that I can get back my files (even more better be able to boot). I did the following : I partition (GUID/mac OSX journalisé) an external disk connected in USB to a real mac, it is recognized when the disk is connected via USB on the hackintosh. BUT il the disk is inserted in the hackintosh as internal via SATA, it is not recognized anymore. Furthermore the partition is now MBR/ FDisk_partition_scheme. Only the first partition can be seen on Disk utility (or in terminal with diskutil list) but I cannot mounted it (and seen on the finder). The problem is the same the other way around. I mean partition an internal sata disk on the hack, then remove it and connect it in USB to the real mac. Then it is not recognized ... Why is it so ? Any idea and solution ? Sorry for my english, I hope I made myself clear…. Many thanks Dominique Build : Snow-Leopard OSX 10.6.8 / GigabyteGA-H67MA-UD2H (Rev. B3) F8 / i3-2105 sandybridge
