  1. Hi guys, this thread is to show you a new and open source app, created by me, that I called TINU: The name means: TINU Is Not #####, the U refers to a popular software that is used to create Mac OS hackintosh installers (that for good reasons is banned on this forum), but the aim of the name is to explain that this app is a totally different thing from that software and works in a totally different way. This app basically is a graphical interface for the createinstallmedia executable that is inside the Mac OS installer apps, it is capable to create a Mac OS installer on a drive completely vanilla like what you do using the command line method, and also this method is recommended by apple itself. Allows you to create easily a macOS install media without messing around with command line stuff and without using disk utility, all you need to do is use the app and then install clover on the usb drive once TINU has finished or leave it as is you want to use it on a Mac. Features: - Simple to use UI that allows you to easily start the macOS install media creation process - It can work with every Mac OS installer app that has the createinstallmedia executable inside of it's resources folder (including also beta and newly released installers) - You can use any drive or partition you want that can be erased and is at least 7 GB of size - Works on Mac OS recovery, so you can create a macOS install media from a bootable macOS installer or from the macOs recovery - All vanilla, the macOS install medias created with this tool are 100% vanilla, just like you created them using the command line "createinstallmedia" method - Open source, you will know what this program does on your computer and also you can create your own version by downloading and playing with the source code - Does not requires to do anything of special first, just open the program - No need to go in disk utility first, TINU can format your drive for you - Uses recent and more modern APIs and SDKs and Swift 3 language - Transparent graphics style available (use alt + s on the keyboard or View->Use transparent style) - Works using the latest versions of macOS and will also support newer Mac installers out of the box without needing for an update Features that I'd like to add in the future: - Advanced section, to customize your macOS install media - Installer customization: Kernelcache/prelinkedknerel and boot files replacement (a feature that can be handy while dealing with old Macs or with beta installers when you need to mod or change the boot files some times) - Install clover and configure clover - Install kexts inside the kexts folder of clover - Clover drivers customization - Use custom dsdt in clover - integrated pre-made clover config templates database from a remote and open repository - Support for other languages, at least Italian Rquirements: - A computer that runs Mac OS X Yosemite or a more recent version (Mac OS X El Capitan is required to use TINU in a macOS recovery or installer) - A drive or a free partition of at least 7 GB that you want to turn into a macOS/Mac OS X installer - A copy of a macOS/Mac OS X installer app (Maveriks or newer versions are supported) in the /Applications folder or in the root of any storage drive in your machine (excepted the drive or volume you want to turn into your macOS install media) Note that this app is under the GNU GPL v3 license so any reuse of the source code must follow the license's terms TINU 1.1 Stable release: - Download available here: https://github.com/ITzTravelInTime/TINU/releases - Source code: https://github.com/ITzTravelInTime/TINU TINU 2.0 pre-release: - Source code: https://github.com/ITzTravelInTime/TINU/tree/development - Download available here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/nvzss51qcieynve/TINU.zip Frequently asked questions about TINU: https://github.com/ITzTravelInTime/TINU/wiki/FAQs NOTE: if you have problems with your USB installer of 10.13.4 or newer version not being detected by clover you have to use the latest clover and if it still does not detectets your usb installer you have to remove the invivible file called .IAPhysicalMedia located into the root of the usb installer. This issue is caused by a changement in the apple's createinstallmedia, don't blame TINU for that, tinu does only uses the installer creation method from apple, which has been changed, causing this problem for hackintosh users, this issue should be resolved in the latest versions of clover which will no longer require that you do changements to let your usb dive to be detected, a setting to do this fix automatically in tinu is also comeing in a new pre-release of TINU 2 I leave also some screenshots as well
  2. Hello everyone! I'm a newbie ! I tried to set up my USB installer, but I cannot. Would u like to be so kind if u help me to setup my clover EFI partition. I'm stuck here and I cannot boot to USB. Everything is OK. Just about my Clover configuration! My model profile: CPU : Intel Core i3 6100U Skylake-U/Y RAM: 4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (7-8-8-28) Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. 3. Hi everyone, I am new, I hope I am posting in the correct forum. My specs: Processor: Core i5 6500 Skylake 3.2ghz Mobo: Gigabyte h170-d3h M2SSD: WD Black 256gb PCIe (Mac OSx) SSD: Samsung 860 Evo (WIndows 10) HDD: WD Blue 1TB GPU: Radeon RX 480 Monitor: BenQ RL2460 24" I was able to install High Sierra on a new m2 drive, that I added to the above configuration with windows 10 already installed. I had a few issues during install, including the monitor turning off at boot screen. Unfortunately, this persists even now. It turns off at about 60% of the progress bar, and to turn it on again I have to unplug/plug back my hdmi. Additionally, while all of the usb ports worked during install and while running it out of the clover I had on the usb stick, only the rear ones appear to work now. The audio doesn't work either, though I added the correct patch according to my mobo Lastly, my other drives are not recognized in the bios anymore. They run fine from boot override but they don't show up in the boot priority (while multiple entries of mac OS do, and they seem to increase in number at every reboot) Thanks in advance for the help
  4. Updated Ralink/Mediatek drivers for USB dongles released at 29/11/2013. MAVERICKS AND YOSEMITE COMPATIBLE Drivers downloaded from http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/usb-rt2870rt2770rt3x7xrt537xrt5572/ I made a zip file with oficial drivers and a preference pane from dlink that replace the oficial ralink wireless utility. Wifi usb high sierra

Enoch boot hangs when KVM switch present

I recently installed a USB/DVI KVM switch to allow my AMD hack (see sig) to share a monitor, KB & mouse with my work laptop. In order to boot successfully, I have had to disable legacy USB in the BIOS, which makes it impossible to enter any boot flag/boot volume overrides. Once booting is complete, the keyboard works fine. If I leave legacy USB enabled in the BIOS, booting hangs after the "EHCI controller ..." message is displayed. What combination of boot flags and/or kexts do I need to allow legacy USB support and the KVM switch to play nice during startup? I am also testing Enoch Rev 2908 in preparation for upgrading from El Cap to High Sierra, and am having similar issues with that version (booting to an El Cap test partition). And, when booting with legacy USB disabled, the screen goes dark at the point of changing resolution, and the machine shuts down after a few seconds. Any help on these issues would be most appreciated. Thanks.

    usb 3.0s?

HI, i've installed high sierra a while ago and never really used it that much but i got bored of w10 so i've decided to use it as my daily driver for a while and i noticed that usb 3.0 ports don't work with usb 3 devices and only with usb 2.0 devices(capped at the 480mb/s limit of usb 2.0), is there a way to get past that? i couldn't find it in this forum, i don't need the speed that much for right now(even tho i might since i shoot in raw and usb 2.0 is slow for file transfer of big photos or videos i take on holidays or on days off) but i'd like to at least be able to use the usb 3.0s with my usb 3 devices and hub. Hope that i write this post correctly, english is not my main language. ps i don't need because i'm on lan but does it exist a driver/kext for intel wifi/bluetooth combo integrated in my z87 mpower(centrino 2200) ? bluetooth works already.
  11. Guide--Creating a OS X installer(Iatkos ML2)from windows only. Note:This guide is for those who don't have access to a mac and for some reasons cannot install the retail image on virtualbox. What you will need:::: 1.A Windows PC. 2.Two USB Flash drives. One of at least 8 GB and the other of atleast 1 GB. 3.dmg2img,Win32diskimager,and bootdiskutility. 4.Last but not the least,an Iatkos_ML2 image based on OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2.(I cannot provide you the link to download Iatkos. You are on your own in downloading this one.) NOTE : Iatkos distributions are the modified copies of Mac OS X made to be able to work on a PC. I STRONGLY ADVISE USE THIS TEMPORARILY to set up OS X on your computer and then create a installer from a LEGACY PURCHASED retail image. For more info on Iatkos visit http://iatkos.me The Steps::::: 1.Connect the 1 GB USB stick on your computer. 2.Run Bootdiskutility, select your USB from the list and click on Format disk. The utility will install clover and chameleon bootloaders on your USB drive. 3.Decompress the dmg2img folder and move the Iatkos_ML2.dmg file in the folder containing the dmg2img.exe file. 4.Right click on the folder containing dmg2img.exe while HOLDING DOWN SHIFT KEY i.e Shift+Right click and select "Open command window here" from the context menu. 5.On the command window type the following without the quotes "dmg2img Iatkos_ML2.dmg" and press enter. This will create a Iatkos_ML2.img file in the same folder.(see screenshot) 6.Now plugin your 8 GB USB drive,Decompress the win32diskimager folder and run the win32diskimager.exe file.Select the Iatkos_ML2.img file created in previous step and your 8 GB USB drive and click on Write.Ignore the warnings. This will write the OS X installer on the USB drive.(see screenshot) 7.Now plugin both your USB drives on the computer on which you want to install OS X.On the boot prompt SELECT THE 1 GB USB DRIVE.Clover bootloader will be loaded and your OS X installer USB will show up on the boot devices list.DONT CLICK DIRECTLY ON THE INSTALLER.CLICK ON "BOOT UEFI MENU FROM CLOVER" FIRST AND THEN SELECT YOUR INSTALLER.Also don't change any of the clover settings. OS X installer must boot now on your computer. You will see that the installer language is in Russian, you can change that easily by clicking on the first box. NOTE:Chameleon bootloader cannot detect the USB created by this method.

    USB Realtek Card Reader

Grazie a tutti
  13. Overview On OS X/Mac OS X, some people may suffer from the issue that the external disk was not ejected properly after sleep. This problem dates back to the period of the coming of Mavericks, even on a real Mac! Overview of the tools/solutions AFAIK, there's two solutions to fix this problem till now: Install Jettison from Mac App Store. Use sleepwatcher to unmount the external devices before system go to sleep. But for me, install Jettison is not free of charge, and this application will place icon on the right corner of the statue bar once get installed, which is not a good solution from my point of view. The latter one is open source and free of charge, which means I can know clearly what this application/daemon has done and add as many functions I want to it. With the help of sleepwatcher, there's various script to unmount/mount disk upon sleep, but none of it is so easy to read and some require sleep time delay settings, that's really strange! That's the reason why I started to create my "own" version of script to fix this issue. I optimized the whole progress as well as the installation progress. No more wake/sleep delay time settings! No more complicated command line, no more wake script, just one sleep script for unmount the external devices, once you resume from sleep, all the external devices will mount by system spontaneously. After following this guide step-by-step, no more "Disk not ejected properly" error will occur upon sleep. Feel free to change whatever you want if you do not satisfy with my script: https://github.com/syscl/Fix-usb-sleep How to use? Download the latest fixUSB.sh by entering the following command in a terminal window: git clone https://github.com/syscl/Fix-usb-sleep Note: If it was the first you execute command "git", please install it by the tips from OS X online(Click "Install"), and then run the above command line again. This will download the fixUSB.sh to your current folder (./) and the next step is to change the permissions of the file(add +x) so that it can be run: chmod +x ~/Fix-usb-sleep/fixUSB.sh Run the fixUSB.sh in a terminal window by: cd ./Fix-usb-sleep ./fixusb.sh If all this procedures have done correctly, you will see the following message in the terminal window Hope you all enjoy this script and all feedbacks are welcome! Post issue on https://github.com/syscl/Fix-usb-sleep Credit: Bernhard Baehr (bernhard.baehr@gmx.de): without his great sleepwatcher, this project/script will not be created.
  14. Hi there, I've had my current hardware running OS X -> macOS for many years now and for the most part it has worked exceptionally well. Unfortunately, in the last 8 months or so my USB devices are constantly experiencing errors and malfunctions. Specifically the mouse and keyboard suffer the most, but my USB audio devices suffer some errors as well. I know for a fact that it's not the ports or the devices that are failing, as I've used my Windows 10 install on the same hardware without any issue, and I've also used the mouse and keyboard on other PCs pretty extensively (also without issue). The actual issue is that the USB ports connected to the mouse and keyboard seem to constantly reset power and sometimes freeze up. This will interrupt inputs from the keyboard and also cause the on-board memory for my mouse to erase itself while also causing input errors. Looking at IO Reg in the USB section I see these two devices and sometimes others just spontaneously and sometimes constantly reset as if they're being unplugged and plugged back in. It's gotten so bad that I practically can't use my PC at all when in macOS High Sierra and I'm almost at the point of decided to buy new hardware completely. I've implemented RehabMan's USBInjectAll.kext solution for USB3 along with Fake_PCIID.kext and Fake_PCIID_XHCIMux.kext. I've also implemented patches for EHC1 to EH01, EHC2 to EH02. Here's a copy of my Clover config: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> 15. Salve a tutti ho installato OSX, Sierra 10.12.6 (16G29), grazie a questo forum Ho installato tutti i Kext necessari da Nvidia a quelli per l'audio HDMI,ethernet ecc.. L'unico problema che Mouse e tastiera USB collegati ad un hub FUNZIONANO, mentre senza hub usb non funzionano nelle altre porte, NELLE ALTRE PORTE PERO' FUNZIONANO PEN DRIVE USB,ho provato vari kext in rete mentre il Forum era in manutenzione Ma non riesco a farli funzionare su altre porte,vi allego La mia EFI( http://www.mediafire.com/file/mimomvp1on4ys58/EFI-MikixIT 12%3A03%3A2018.zip) E vari screen del mio OSX con info varie
  16. I used BCM943602CS for my Hackintosh. On High Sierra, the WiFi works well, however, the bluetooth doesn't work. I cannot find the bluetooth icon on the system preference pane. From the system report, I can see that the Device can be recognized as 'Bluetooth USB Host Controller'. From IORegistryExplorer, I've found that the device for it has a UsbConnector value of 0x0, which is weird. And the IOResources part says the device is not built-in. I don't know whether it has something to do with my MSI B350 Tomahawk (an AMD platform) motherboard. If someone has some advice, please help me out. hguandl.ioreg.7z
  17. Version Driver: Utility:

This is a new updated kext and utility directly from MediaTek for the MT7610U and MT7612U network chipset. This utility was updated and released on January 20th 2016 on MediaTek website. I have the Netgear A6210 AC1200-WiFi USB 3.0 Adapter and it works perfectly under OSX 10.11.2 with USB 3.0 and 5GHz networks being recognized. It should work for any card with one of those two chips. UPDATE 10/1/2016 I have had some serious trouble updating my system to macOS 10.12 Sierra but I have finally seemed to have gotten it working. When I have done a clean install and installing this package afterwards, It didn't seem to work. However after updating a working copy of El Capitan to Sierra with this package already installed, it seems to work. So as of this post, this same package does work under macOS 10.12 Sierra but you might have some trouble like I have until mediatek performs their own official update. UPDATE 10/26/16 I have finally figured out what is going on with this installer package. When you run this package as is, it will not install the kext on macOS sierra. It will install the wireless utility and all associated files but not the actual kext. I have included the kext as a standalone as well. Install the Kext with kext utility then run the installer pkg. Reboot and you will have a perfectly working USB wireless stick. Confirmed working macOS 10.12.1
  18. Hi, Sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find an answer for this specific question after searching the forums. I have upgraded ESXi from 6 to 6.5 and at the same time moved from Sierra to High Sierra. I now have a strange issue where if I try to mount a USB device from a remote host or locally attached to the server, osx becomes non responsive and just hangs. USB mounting still works without issue for existing non osx images. I have even tried re-installing Sierra in a fresh image but the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
  19. Hi, I have a OSX 10.13.2 High Sierra guest running on Win7 pro. The guest is only used to configure idevice with Apple configurator2. guest and host as the latest itunes version and driver. I use an iPhone 6 and 6S and it's working perfectly, my problem started when I got 2 new iphone8+ (and later while writing the post, using an iPhone SE, same problem), on the host machine, no problem at all, they work and they are displayed in itunes. When I connect to guest, the loop start and I have to physically disconnect the usb cable for it to stop, trying the right-click on icon and connect/disconnect host... not working, it give me a unknown error. I was running Workstation Pro 12.5, so I decide to upgrade to 14.1.1, same problem. I tried on the Player 14, same problem... BUT, once, only once it work and I was able to see the device in Configurator and apply the profile that I needed. I also have a WinXP and a Win7 VM, and they can connect to the iphone8, so look like it's not an issue with the host/vmware application... VMTools is up to date Set to USB 2.0, Use the PC USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, with or without a USB hub (all those options work with the iphone 6/6s) The "usb.quirks.device0 = "0xvid:0xpid" config been tested and not working I delete all the files in c:\users\vmware\... I tested a new fresh guest machine from scratch, same result (so I can get narrow out a faulty .vmx file) The result is always the same... loop reconnect/disconnect on the guest machine, I hear the "dong" sound on Win7 when usb device is connect looping with the idevice sound when it connect... This is the log file for the iphone6s with the connection working 2018-02-13T18:54:01.302-05:00| vmx| I125: USB: Found device [name:Apple\ iPhone vid:05ac pid:12a8 path:1/9/0/9/2/3 speed:high family:vendor, audio, hid, imaging virtPath:ehci:0 instanceId:USB\\VID_0E0F&PID_0001\\xxx serialnum:xxx arbRuntimeKey:6 quirks:slow-reconnect ownerdisplay:OS\ 10.13.2\ High\ Sierra version:3], connected to ehci port 0. 2018-02-13T18:54:01.302-05:00| vmx| I125: USB: Device [name:Apple\ iPhone vid:05ac pid:12a8 path:1/9/0/9/2/3 speed:high family:vendor, audio, hid, imaging virtPath:ehci:0 instanceId:USB\\VID_0E0F&PID_0001\\xxx serialnum:xxx arbRuntimeKey:6 quirks:slow-reconnect ownerdisplay:OS\ 10.13.2\ High\ Sierra version:3] should already be connected And this is the iPhone8+ that doesn't work 2018-02-13T19:23:39.465-05:00| vmx| I125: USB: Found device [name:Apple\ iPhone vid:05ac pid:12a8 path:1/9/0/9/2/3 speed:high family:vendor, audio, hid, imaging virtPath:ehci:0 instanceId:USB\\VID_0E0F&PID_0001\\xxx serialnum:xxx disconnected:1 arbRuntimeKey:8 quirks:slow-reconnect ownerdisplay:OS\ 10.13.2\ High\ Sierra version:3], connected to ehci port 0. 2018-02-13T19:23:39.465-05:00| vmx| I125: USB: Device [name:Apple\ iPhone vid:05ac pid:12a8 path:1/9/0/9/2/3 speed:high family:vendor, audio, hid, imaging virtPath:ehci:0 instanceId:USB\\VID_0E0F&PID_0001\\xxx serialnum:xxx disconnected:1 arbRuntimeKey:8 quirks:slow-reconnect ownerdisplay:OS\ 10.13.2\ High\ Sierra version:3] should already be connected I highlighted the only difference between both. 20. Hi all, I use this setup (X79 Deluxe - 4930K - HD6870) as an audio rig. It all works fine, I'm only experiencing stability issues with everything USB (audio sound card, MIDI controllers). Logic Pro X keeps randomly losing sync with them. I installed GenericUSBXHCI (v1.2.11) from the rampagedev X79 dmg. Has anyone successfully used other USB kexts? I mostly use USB 2 ports. Thanks!

  22. Hello I mapped my USB ports quite some time ago (> 6 month) and everything was working fine. I was using input peripherals (game pad, tablet, mouse, keyboard) but not storage devices. Since yesterday, I plugged in my iPod 3G (only data through USB) after modding it with an SD card. Windows is perfectly fine with the mod and my mac as well. However, that's a complete different story on macOS + hackintosh! This is my kext for mapping my USB ports (I did all of it manually, getting each port address with USB2 and then USB3 when applicable): https://pastebin.com/ggn7bBCR I do not have any injector. Basically, the iPod works for a few plugging/ejection, but then goes rogue. iTunes opens but the iPod doesn't appear in iTunes. The iPod disk is seen in the Finder, but is empty. When listing the directory, I have: Haga:THE ONE seldo$ ls -al ls: .fseventsd: Input/output error ls: Calendars: Input/output error ls: Contacts: Input/output error ls: Notes: Input/output error ls: System Volume Information: Input/output error ls: iPod_Control: Input/output error total 288 drwxrwxrwx@ 1 seldo staff 16384 Jan 8 19:36 . drwxrwxrwt@ 7 root admin 238 Jan 8 20:06 .. drwxrwxrwx 1 seldo staff 16384 Jan 8 04:25 .Trashes -rwxrwxrwx 1 seldo staff 46843 Jan 7 23:13 .VolumeIcon.icns -rwxrwxrwx 1 seldo staff 4096 Jan 7 23:13 ._. -rwxrwxrwx 1 seldo staff 4096 Jan 7 23:13 ._.Trashes -rwxrwxrwx 1 seldo staff 4096 Jan 7 23:13 ._.VolumeIcon.icns -rwxrwxrwx 1 seldo staff 4096 Jan 7 23:13 ._iPod_Control -rwxrwxrwx 1 seldo staff 0 Jan 8 19:36 .metadata_never_index At one point, it appears in iTunes and iTunes reports it as corrupted. If I plug it in my Mac or on Windows (same machine) it is seen and there are no errors. I could almost manage my library from Windows... but my music disk is Mac formatted Thanks for any comment that could help
  23. I have the USB ports that are messy. It's even hard to explain what happens as it's not linear. At second wake from sleep USBs keyboard and mouse become unusable. If they're plugged on USB3 instead at second wake from sleep the PC...reboots itself. When I reboot at times USB keyb and mouse are not recognised. Front panel USB3 don't work. USB bluetooth after wake from sleep works really bad. Some USB3 drives get stuck while copying forcing a reboot. On Tonymac (sorry) some guy called pastrychef (moderator) tells the story of his build and how he fixed USB. He says Mr RehabMan in person suggests to create a custom SSDT for USBInjectAll.kext Now, being my machine AMD, some of what they suggest to do becomes difficult to process. All in all they say to forget your USBs are working fine unless: 1 you're lucky, 2 you fix them properly. I'm not lucky. Are there permanent fixes because I need sleep to work on my machine and I have all these troubles on USB that affect stability. Thanks all for your help.
  24. First, system specs: Abit IP35 Pro MB Core2Quad Q6600 CPU Geforce 8400GS 256MB GPU Corsair Dominator 4GB DDR 1066 RAM (4x1GB sticks) 320GB WD Blue Hard Drive MacAlly Keyboard MacAlly Mouse Initially followed the install process from (the site that shall not be named) to get Snow Leopard installed, then used another tool from same site to upgrade to El Capitan. In the process, boot manager was changed from Chameleon to Clover. When Clover gets past init(6), the boot process halts and the num lock/power lights start blinking on my USB keyboard. Unplugging said keyboard allows Clover to complete boot. Luckily, I still have a PS2 keyboard which works with Clover (it now stays plugged in at the same time as the USB keyboard). When I had Snow Leopard installed, it didn't do this, so I'm assuming it's a Clover problem. I've tried: - Plugging keyboard into all USB ports (both with and without the PS2 keyboard plugged in) - Changing BIOS Keyboard settings to both "OS" and "BIOS". - Updating Clover to latest version and installing UsbKbDxe-64 driver. I tried searching for a DSDT, but only found one for the non-Pro IP35. Other Google searching has fixes for UEFI booting systems and different MacOS versions, but nothing that applies to this MB. Thoughts?
  25. I am doing it under Sierra via VM and system refuses to do this (install to apps), also there is no ption to "buy" El Capitan from store. If someone give me advice how to make it run I will be very glad.
